The Four Protectors

In the land of Levinjour, there were four Protectors called Heralds. They protect the kingdom of Zenuvia from the Demons of the Demon Realm, so is the other towns.

Jacob the Azure Herald, Rindou the Dimitiure Herald, Van the Abyss Herald and the strongest of them all, Ace the Supreme Herald.

Ace was the one who admired the most.

After a battle, they go always put a smile on the citizens face and push away their fear.

Thus, Van is jealous of being Ace on the top and was the most admired of them.

Van thought that if he defeated the Demon King all by himself, he would gain much power and be on the top.

Van executed his plan. At night, Van snuck out

from the window of the castle and moved like an assassin. Van was headed to the direction to the portal of the Demon Realm. After arriving at the front of the portal, he entered...

He went in the portal and there was a lot of demons that was prepared.

"Heh... Minions"

Van said so casually as he call out his scythe.

//WHOOCK WHOOCK WHOOCK... ZIINNGG!!//

Upon his hand caught the scythe, he suddenly dashed through the demons. His attack was powerful and not stopping from slashing the demons.

//SHING SHING SHING!!//

Van was nearly worn out because he never fought by himself before, and also the number of the demons was out of his number.

But he chose to continue brandishing his scythe again and again.

After nearly an hour of slashing and dashing,

the Demon King raised his hand and the demons stopped from attacking.

"Heh... Surrendering already?"

Van said while he was covered with blood and catching his breath.

Van pointed his scythe towards the Demon King and...

"I challenge you... Minion King."

Van challenged the Demon King and looking down on him because of the number of demons he defeated.

"If whoever wins will take the loser's power. Deal?"

Van's plan was to defeat the Demon King and take it's power to be strong and be the top of the Heralds.

Then the Demon King nodded and draw out his sword. Van stood up and put the scythe on his shoulder and...

//DASH//

Demon King dashed at the speed of light and

slashed though Van's body...

//ZING//

"Too bad Demon King *laugh*... your blade didn't reach me. I really didn't see that coming. I underestimated you, but I'll defeated you"

Van slashed the Demon King, but the Demon King countered Van's attack with his sword that blasted him away.

//BANG!!//

"AAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!"

The demons were stunned as they see their King blasted meters away. Van dashed towards Demon King and gave a consecutive slash of the scythe. The Demon King released a powerful shot and pushed Van away.

Demon King stood up and slashed the air making a multiple big and powerful wave.

//SHING SHING SHING//

Van has a flexible body and tumbled pass the waves, but ...

//SLASH//

Van didn't saw the last one and cut his right arm.

//AAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!//

Van shouted from the pain releasing a sudden power magic that covered around him. His power is enough to heal him but his arm will be left cutted. Van stand up and recovers the strength he need to fight against Demon King.

"I will be the STRONGEST!!."

Van cloaked his scythe's blade and attacked the Demon King. Their battle was intense, both of them flew over the sky and fought on the mid-air. Their attacks to each other was a lot of power but they won't hit each other.

Van realized that he won't hit him on the mid-air after all, Van was fighting the Demon King with one arm and it is really hard to wield the scythe. Thus, Van striked Demon King so hard that pushed him through the surface.

Van plunged towards Demon King with lighting.

//BANG!!//

A huge smoke covered the whole battlefield.

The followers of Demon King who are watching them wasn't giving any reactions.

The atmosphere was quite, until Van raised his arm holding the head of the Demon King.

Everyone and all of them slowly bowed after Van. After killing the Demon King, Van absorbed the Demon King's power through his body. His right arm suddenly regenerated with the Demon King's blood in it. Van's regenerated arm was filled with black color, red stripings, and has enormous power.

He covered his body with his cloak and leave the Demon Realm. Van headed home while nearly passing out.

On the other side, the Heralds are panicking where Van could have gone to.

"Jacob use your catalyst to locate Van. Quick!"

Ace was very worried about Van, so is the other two. After all, they teamed up many long time ago and protecting the kingdom of Zenuvia with the four of them. They didn't leave anyone behind, if they travel and one is very tired to take another step, they'll carry him and continue to walk forward. It's like they were brothers.

And so, Ace saw Van fell out near the gate of the kingdom. Ace opened the window and jumped. Upon falling down, Ace put his feet on the statue near the castle and leaped and pushed him exact direction towards Van.

//WHOOSH!!//

"VAN!! VAN ARE YOU OKAY!!?"

Ace shouted on the mid-air. As he touched the ground, he run towards Van and waked him up.

"I-I did... it A-Ace"

Van said without energy and laughs softly, leaves a smile of his face and passed out.

"Van! Van what HAPPENED!!"

Ace just wouldn't stop worrying, Jacod and Rindou arrived but Ace dashed towards the castle's hospital while carrying Van and leaving the two behind.

"We just arrived yet Ace leaves immediately?

What happened to him"

Rindou said confusedly. They immediately followed Ace as he go to the hospital.

Ace was sitting outside the room where Van was. Rindou and Jacob arrived and was confused.

"Hey Ace! What's with that face?"

*laughs*

Jacob said to Ace as he show a serious miserably face.

"Why so serious? What happened?"

Rindou was confused about the happenings.

"Van passed out"

Ace said so cold. He never leave his sit waiting for Van while staring at his shoe.

"Huh? What happened?"

Jacob said as he sat next to Ace.

"Van passed out in the front gate and I don't know why"

"He must've been done something dangerous again. I'mma whoop his ass when he wokes up."

The door opened and the doctor came out to tell Van's situation.

"Van was currently asleep due to tiredness. It was nothing so serious, but I don't know why his right arm was black with red stripes on it. It seems to contain such ominous power."

The Doctor said a good news to them that gave comfort to Ace, yet they were confused about the doctor said about his arm.

"Now you should be able to stop worrying Ace. Van was a strong yet stupid, he will soon wake up. Now let's go and get some lunch I'm hungry"

Ace and the others left the hospital and get something to eat.

Meanwhile, a nurse passed through the the hallway and a black smoke was coming out from Van's room and kidnapped the nurse. The nurse was shockes of what she saw.

Van was floating with the black smokes on his back, his right eye was black with red on the center and the whole room was dark.

//SPLAT!!//

"Hehe, it's showtime

Van said on a deep voice while smirking
