Chapter 5

"Just take a seat over there, " the pointed at chairs along the wall, "and I'll let you know when the doctor is done." she said with a friendly smile.

Sam brought Alex to the clinic inside the hospital. The clinic specialized in Omegas, because there bodies are different from Alphas or Beta. Alex was a little nervous. The last time he went to the hospital was the day his gender results were known. He didn't really know what to expect. He kept wringing his hands and his leg wouldn't stop hopping, signs of how anxious he was. Sam noticed, she put a hand on his bopping leg.

"You don't have to be so tense, it's not as if you're going for surgery or something like that. It's just a check up. So relax. Take a deep breath."

Alex took a deep breath and let it out slowly, trying to steady his racing heart. They sat together in silence. Despite what Sam said, Alex was still to nervous to make small talk.

After about 15 minutes the nuse went to them. Alex looked up from the floor. She smiled at him.

" Okay Alex, you're next."

Alex took a deep breath and stood up. Sam also stood up, but she didn't move. Alex looked at her anxiously. Sam felt very bad for him. She now knew for certain Alex never really had anyone. She smiled at him encouragingly.

"Go on, I'll wait right here for you. I promise."

Alex nodded and followed the nurse. He felt silly for wanting Sam to come with him, he wasn't a baby. But still he would've felt more comfortable with her here. He entered the doctors room. It was sterile white and everything was clean. There was a tall, dark-haired man sitting on a desk in the coner studing a file in his hand. He looked up when they walked in. The nurse smiled at Alex and the doctor and went back to her desk. The doctor looked kind, he smiled at Alex and showed him to the bed in the center of the room.

"Just take a seat there." he said. He went back to the file he had in his hand. He asked Alex a few questions about his health, how he's been feeling lately and when the discomfort in his stomach started. After a while the questions started getting more personal, into his sex life. Alex couldn't help but blush the entire time. Seeing him flustered the dr James, Alex came to learn, let lut a small laugh.

"You don't have to feel embarrassed. It's a natural thing." He smiled at Alex. 'What a cute kidv he thought. He pointed down at the bed. " Alex, could you please go to the bathroom, in the corner just inside the door there's a table with little glasses on it. Would you please bring me a little bit of urine? It's just for some tests." he assured him.

Alex nodded and got of the bed. There was a bathroom attached to the room he heade inside and shut the door. After a minute or so Alex came back holding th glass, looking a lityle red. Dr James took a funny looking stick out of the cupboard behind his desk and put the point into the glass. He took it out again and put it on a plastic pad ons his desk. Dr James consentrated on the stick and so Alex stared at it as well. Slowly Alex saw one red stripe appear and then another one. Dr James looked up at Alex. Alex didn't know what those stripes meant, the dr knew that much. He motioned for the bed again. Alex sat on th bed, th dr walked towards him.

"Could lay back for me?" He adjusted the bed so Alexs head was a little higher. "Lift you shirt up to show your stomach," Alex did so. "I'm going to put some gell on, it might be a little cool."

Alex flinched at the cool sensation. Dr James spread the gell over his lowe belly. He pulled a machine closer and switched it on. Unknown to Alex as a sonar machine. He took the sonar and pressed it to Alex's abdominal, he moved it around a bit, until he found what he was looking for. Alex lay still looking at the lights above him. He didn't know what was wrong, he just let the dr do what he's supposed to do. After about five minutes the dr removed the machine and gave Alex a few tissues to wipe away the gell. He sat up when he was done. He looked at the dr expectantly.

Dr James turned to Alex. He somehow knew Alex was inexperienced with the way of th worl, but Alex did mention he was in a relationship, so this was inevitable.

"Well it's nothing serious, but did you and your partner use protection when you were intimate?"

Alex loomed down, Brad never liked condoms. He also said getting medication to prevent pregnancy was a waste of time. "No. He didn't like using condoms." Alex answered honestly.

Dr James just nod his head. He came straight to the point, "The reason I asked, is because you're pregnant." he said.

Alex unconsciously put his hand over his stomach. He didn't really know what to say. He was going to have a baby.
