Meeting

After getting Daniel's phone number from his manuscript, Carl called him with the company telephone.

Daniel was just getting ready for school and his parents had already left for work, so when the phone he rang, he decided to answer it.

"Hello?"

"Yes, hello, is this Daniel Hernandez?"

"Yes, that's me. Who is this?"

Carl was surprised to hear Daniel's voice when he picked up the phone, as he sounded quite young, but he decided to press on.

"Yes, hello, im the editing director of Warrior Publishing, Carl Jacobs. I have your manuscript here that you submitted to us a few weeks ago, "A Quiet Man."

It took Daniel a few seconds to recognize what he was talking about.

"'A Quiet Man?'"

"Yes, that's right"

"...Ohhhhh! Yes, I submitted that 2 months ago, but I completely forgot, did you like it?"

Carl was surprised to hear Daniel's response and had to pause for a second.

"...Yes, it was fantastic, but I wanted to know if we could meet to discuss it, like the editing and certain contractual rights."

"Oh, yeah, absolutely, when can we meet?"

"We can meet today if you could or maybe Friday if that's fine?"

Daniel looks at a clock on the wall and see he only has 45 minutes before school starts.

"Oh, sure, today is fine, could we meet right now?"

"...Yes, that's fine, we are located on 72 Bright St, 10012."

Daniel quickly writes the address down and says:

"Okay, I can be there in an hour."

Daniel decided that skipping one day of school never hurt anyone.

Daniel took his time getting ready for his meeting and thinking about the manuscript he sent in.

When he arrived at the office, he felt refreshed.

Walking in, he greeted the receptionist who told him where to meet Carl.

"Second floor, I'll tell him you're here."

"Okay, thank you"

When Daniel got to the second floor, he saw multiple desks with stacks of paper on them.

Most of the desks were empty, but he saw one man peeking behind the stacks the of paper, waving at him.

"Hello! Are you Daniel?"

"Yes."

"Hi, I'm Carl Jacobs, you can call me Carl."
