World Of SCOR

A brand new game, SoulCorpse, has just launched and is already gaining massive amounts of popularity. 'SoulCorpse' or 'SCOR' for short, is a brand new VR game with souls-like qualities. It features a new breakthrough technology called 'SoulSense'. This 'SoulSense' technology allows the user to completely emerge their consciousness into the game. This allows more fluid inputs with just a thought. It also, as the name suggests, increases your senses . This allows you to feel things like the wind, smell, and even taste things in game.

"AHHHH!! FUCK NOT AGAIN!!"

As his body descends, the abyss seemingly enwraps around his body making him vanish seemlessly. All that can be heard is his screams echoing about.

All of this and their great advertising included, is what made the game immediately skyrocket in popularity. However I, David Schmidt, am different. I got early access to this wonderful game. Now let's show these greenhorns how to survive in SCOR.

The words "Log in," can be heard being uttered in an excited tone.

A feminine voice can be heard as his consciousness merges into an empty 3D space.

{[Welcome Back]}

{[Please Recreate Your Character]}

"Wow, ACH, you seem to not have changed one bit."

This is Artificially Composed Helper, or ACH for short. She assists you, the player, on your play through over the course over the game. However each person's ACH have different personalities, and mine just so happens to have.

{[If You're Not Going To Create Your Character I'll Fry Your Brain]}

"Alright alright."

David presses the, create character button that is infront of him. As he does so a blank 3d model can be seen to appear with a gigantic panel full of customization options.

'Well, let's first start with the basics.'

David chooses male, obviously. He also can adjust his height, he makes it an average height as shorter builds tend to have less stamina, and taller builds have horrible movement. He then decides on a hair color, choosing a nice smoky colored gray. Next onto eyes. Eyes on SCOR have different advantages. For example, green gives better vision during night, gray gives the passive ability to have a better time to see in fog and smoke, blue gives the passive ability to see a longer distance, and red gives the passive ability to see weak points, however only if they've noticed the enemy. But, it seems there's a new option, white. It seems to only be given to the early testers, and as this game doesn't really tell you about these abilities I only knew about them before hand, so since this is new I have no idea what it does. However I'm willing to take gambles. He chooses the white eye color, it's almost as if you can see through his eye, but that's just an illusion.

'Next is onto classes, hmmm….'

There are a couple of classes he can choose from, each giving a different outfit and being able to evolve into a higher class. So far the only classes he can choose from are as follows:

[Rogue]

[Swordsman]

[Archer]

[Mage]

Each one can branch off to a slightly different class.

[Swordsman] can either go to [Magic-Swordsman] or [Grand-Swordsman], then going up to a [Magic-Knight] or [Grand-Knight], then [Magic-Knight] goes to a [SwordSaint] and a [Grand-Knight] goes to a [SwordEmperor]. [Rogue] can either go to [Bandit] or [Assassin], then [Thief] or [Elite-Assassin], then finally[ Master-Thief] and [Master-Assassin]. [Archer] branches off to either [Sniper] or [Tracker], then [Elite-Sniper] or [Hunter/Huntress], to finally [DeadShot] and [PathFinder]. [Mage] branches off to either a [Battle-Mage] or [Support-Mage], then a [Grand-Battle-Mage] or [Grand-Support-Mage], to finally a [Grandhall-Battle-Mage] or [Grandhall-Support-Mage]. However it's a definite these classes will probably change in the future so I'll choose the class I chose when I was part of early testing.

Also once you obtain the final version of that class you can choose a second one, so eventually I can be a [Grandhall-Magic-Master-Assassin].

'"Choose class [Rogue]."

{CLASS [ROGUE] HAS BEEN SELECTED}

A hooded trench coat appears on his avatar.

"Now time for skin color."

David doesn't give it much thought as he chooses a slightly pale white skin color

|{PLEASE ENTER A NAME FOR THE PLAYER AND HELPER}]

"Wow, ACH they made it to where I could name you?"

{[If It's A Bad Name I'm Kicking Your Balls]}

"As if you could do that."

David quickly types in the player name box naming himself, 'Nameless'.

"There, that was my tester name and now it's time for you, hmmmmm."

David quickly typed in 'Achy' pronounced (Achee).

{[Couldnt You Have Given In More Though? I Deserve A way Better Name, Like Grand Empress]}

David scoffs, "As if."

David then clicks the 'create character' button.

{SPAWN IN?}

"Yes."

A whirr sound can be heard as he becomes covered in pixels and vanishes before reappearing being reassembled by pixels in a remarkably beautiful scenery. Grass stretches for miles and he can see mountains reaching for the heavens with their snow white covered peaks. It's so breathtaking he can't help but take a gasp. As he breathes he can smell the scent of pollen from the variety of flower fields and the fish in the ponds. It's truly a sight to behold.

{PLAYER[Nameless] HAS SPAWNED}

{WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF SCOR}

As he takes in the awe-inspiring scenery he can hear the birds chirping and even the cool breeze against his clothed back.

"Man I really did miss this game."

{It'd Do You Good To Actually Play The Game}

"I know, I know, just give me a bit."

{TESTER PLAYER DETECTED}

{BESTOWING TITLE ONTO PLAYER}

{TITLE GAINED[Early Player]}

"Woho, what's this?"

{[Tsk…. You're Just Lucky You Dipshit, Don't Let It Get To Your Head]}

"It seems someone's jealous~."

{[AM NOT!]}

"Sureeeeee."

"Anyways, let me check out this title,…. Open [Titles]."

{DISPLAYING TITLES}

A bunch of floating words appear before him.

{Early Player[x2% XP Rate]}

[Read More...]

Nameless taps on the letters that say "Read More". More words appear seemingly floating in the air, giving a brief description of the title.

{Early Player}

Be a tester of World Of SCOR before release.

[Multiplies XP gained by 2.]

"Wow, isn't this Op?"

{[You're Just Lucky]}

"Luck is a skill you know."

{[…..]}

"Anyways let's see…. Open [Status]."

{DISPLAYING STATUS}

Just as with the titles, a bunch of letters appear.

PLAYER[NAMELESS]

LVL[1]

HP[1000/1000]

MP[0100/0100]

XP[0000/0100]

[STATS][INV.]

[TITLES][SKILLS]

"Not too bad, I think it's time I finally go on a leveling spree dont'cha think?"

{[I Hope You Die}|

"Well if I die I'll be set back 5 levels, and I'm not very keen on seeing if I can get into the negatives."

Nameless swipes away the status with his finger before starting to walk on a faded path.

"Anyways, this game really is beautiful."

{[Almost As Beautiful As Me]}

"I think I got a delusional helper."

Achy scoffs.

{[…]}

"Anyways, equip [Twin Daggers]."

{EQUIPPING[TWIN DAGGERS]}

Pixels appear in both of his hands morphing into daggers, his grip tightens around them as he feels them appear into his hands.

"It's time to go leveling baby!"

30 minutes later.

{YOU ARE NOW LEVEL 8}

"Tsk… Even with the title this is taking a goddamn long time."

{[Stop Complaining In The Middle Of Combat]}

A sword briefly slashes near Nameless's shoulder as he barely dodges it. Using his cat-like reflexes he kicks the sword making it fly onto the ground. Now that his opponent, a goblin, is de-armed, he strikes his neck, severing his head.

{XP TO NEXT LEVEL[0050/0800]}

"Tsk… Use the GPS to go to Soul Town."

Soul Town is one of the first and closest towns you can go to once you start SoulCorpse, even if the spawn is random once you first start the game, it's always the closest town.

{[Fine, Here….]}

A path of light appears, as it fades off into the distance he slowly starts to follow it. As he follows the light he decides to check his status.

"Status."

{DISPLAYING STATUS}

The same floating letters from earlier appear but now have changed a little bit.

PLAYER[NAMELESS]

LVL[8]

HP[8000/8000]

MP[0500/0500]

XP[0050/0800]

[STATS][INV.]

[TITLES][SKILLS]

"Hmmm.. So I earn about [1,000 HP] and [50 MP] everytime I level up, and the amount of [XP] I need for the next level increases by 100, and killing 1 Goblin is normally [10XP] but with my multiplayer it's now [50XP]. Meaning in total I'll need to slay about 15 more Goblins.

Nameless sighs, however the ground from under him starts to crumble. As he looks around he noticed the path of light has led him to the side of a cliff. He quickly swipes away the status letters and tries to escape but it's too late as he falls.

"AHHHH!! FUCK NOT AGAIN!!"

"THIS HAPPENED AS WELL IN THE EARLY ACCESS, FUCK YOU ACHY!!!!" His voice fading down into the abyss.

As his body descends, the abyss seemingly enwraps around his body making him vanish seemlessly. All that can be heard is his screams echoing about.

This is one of my very first novels, so please don’t hold back. Trying my best to improve.
