Ender

It was becoming evident to Ender that finding a moment to discuss plans with Aniyoh and Lucian would be rather tricky as he made his way down to breakfast with Caroline. He could see servants milling about the spacious townhome busying themselves with various tasks, but Ender knew their vampire's ears were always listening. Even just approaching his companions would be noted by the staff. He would need to tread carefully.

Caroline appeared calm as they entered the immaculate dining room, he noticed. All traces of apprehension were gone, her features smooth. She seemed as regal as her surroundings without any of the gaudiness that Marcaius favored.

A lavish fare spread across the table, but Ender had little appetite. He would have to feed soon but not on human food. The craving was bearable, though, and he feigned interest in the offerings in front of him as they sat.
