Chapter 6

I grow increasingly more dumbfounded as I read my new status, specifically the Moonlight Fury section, since when did I have such a skill? Did I miss reading it unconsciously I wonder?

It says that I transformed into my true form under the full moon and I lost my sanity under the transformation, wtf, what am I? a werewolf? I shouldn't look at the full moon until I could control it seems. Not looking at the full moon would be pretty easy since the full moon only appears every 29 days or so, the controlling part would be a lot harder.

Putting my rent on hold, I slowly get up from the ground and start to fly out of the crater. I kept ascending until I was around 50 meters above the crater before looking down.

"What!" I exclaimed seeing the crater I previously laid upon being a giant footprint, and not far from the footprint laid the bodies of many dead large beasts. Sweat dripped down my forehead while staring at the amount of destruction that laid behind the giant footprint.

Many trees were left unrooted some looked brunt as well, as a matter of fact, a large section of the forest looked burnt. The most eye-catching part was the large trail of footprints, the trail looked as if a giant bulldozer bulldozed through. 'Did...I really cause this much destruction?' I thought to myself.

Suddenly a heavenly aroma entered my nose taking me out of my train of thought. I instantly turned in the direction of the aroma to only see the dead bodies of the deceased creatures. I was confused because I didn't see anything being cooked nor any smoke for that matter.

As I moved closer and closer toward the direction the stronger the smell, making me unconsciously drool, even if I don't feel hungry nor thirst anymore it seems I still have the drive to eat something good.

In no time I was floating above the dead bodies of the beasts, where the aroma was at its peak, 'Is the heavenly aroma coming from these dead bodies?' I wondered to myself as a wiped the saliva from the corner of my mouth.

To confirm I descended down upon the body of a giant lizard and as if to verify my theory the aroma grew stronger. Just the smell alone caused me to uncontrollably salivate, then suddenly a thought dawned on me, 'If I consume this lizard, would it be considered cannibalism since were both lizards?'

Shaking my head in denial, I slowly took a bite out of the body of the giant lizard, it was more on the crunchy side maybe it was because of the scales on its body. Then I heard the all too familler sound in my head.

[DING!]

[Gained 10 exp]

I was growing even more confused now, why am I gaining exp from consuming it If I already gained exp from killing? I mean I'm not complaining it's free exp, but still, I need answers. However, the search for answers will come after I'm finished eating my food, which tasted kind of bland since it's uncooked and unseasoned.

-1 hour later-

It took me a whole hour to consume the entirety of the whole lizard until there was nothing but bones left. Things I have observed in that time were no matter the amount of the lizard I consumed I always gained a fixated amount of 10 exp.

The second thing I figured out was that my stomach was like a bottomless pit, no matter how much I ate I never felt full. From now on even if I don't feel hungry because of Life Steal Regen, I will consume the beasts I kill for exp.

-A few hours later-

It took me a few more hours to consume the rest of the dead bodies that laid close to the carter when suddenly the evolution notification appeared in front of me. This greatly surprised me because I thought I would keep leveling up until I became an overpowered dragon and control my true form transformation.

However, who would've thought there was an evolution option that not only makes me stronger but also upgrades my race even further? but I'm not going to evolve at the moment, I first need to find a safe place to evolve safely.

I started ascending into the skies once again and started searching for a place I deem safe that has no other animals around. I roamed the forest for 10 minutes before I found a cave that looked safe enough and had no other animals around it within a radius of 25 meters.

'I might make this my permanent home for a while,' I thought while entering the dim lid cave that had a large opening at the ceiling. I walked a little further inside before laying down on the ground and thinking, 'Start evolution!'

[Evolution starting...] that was all I heard before blacking out.

-3rd pov-

Josuke's body was wrapped in a cocoon-like substance that was slowly increasing in size. From the little openings of the cocoon, you could see a bright orange glow.

[Ding!]
