Innocence

Damnetra kneels down in front of the dead couple and wipes the blood splashed on the floor with her fingers.

"Mommy! Daddy! I am home!" chirped the little girl excited to be back home from her kindergarten," Look what I made in school today!"

"I am sorry my child but unfortunately your parents aren't home today." Damnetra informed the little girl as she teleported in front of her in the cottage home's drawing room.

"Why? And where are they?"

"Destiny…and somewhere beautiful, I suppose."

"I don't understand…and who are you? You don't look like a human."

"It's alright if you don't get it now. I am here to take you to them so, let's make it quick." Damnetra extended her right arm for the little girl to take.

"Your fingers, are you hurt? I can heal that wound!" the little girl exclaimed and held Damnetra's hand, she placed her left palm on top of the blood stained part, a bright green colored light began to penetrate from the little girl's palm. Damnetra stood still surprised by the girl's innocence. After wrapping the fingers with band aid, the little girl gave a toothy smile and said, "All done! You'll be healed in no time. But if it hurts again then you can come to me!"

"What is taking you so long Damnetra, I was waiting for you up there." Prima spoke in a worried tone as it magically appeared on Damnetra's shoulder.

"Yeah, we will go back now."

"Without the girl?"

"She is just a child, without her parents she won't survive for too long anyways."

"Do you know the consequences of this?"

"I know and I don't care."

Damnetra flew back with Prima, leaving the little girl alone with the corpse of her dead parents.

Why did Damnetra spare the life of the little girl? Was she moved by the innocence of the child or is there something deeper than that? That's all Prima could question about the actions of his master.
