Chapter 2

The forest was still quiet when the sun broke out in the horizon. Not much light could be seen because of densely packed trees. Beaide the tree two girls of could be seen sleeping. Crack a sound was heard in some distance and both the girls jumped up at the same time. They vigilantly looked around but found nothing. Elina let out relieved sigh. It was not a big deal she has always walked on thin ice many people wanted her to die. She bowed her head lost in some thoughts only she knew.

" Scared me for nothing " Crystal was really upset she did not like waking up like this.

" You can still go back its not too late " Elina raised her head and looked at her solemnly

" They will hunt me until I am dead "

" Or you can take back what rightfully belongs to you because for me and my wolf you are our queen" saying this Crystal knelt down on one knee and cut her palm with a sharp stone and looked at Elina decisively.

" What are you trying to do? Get up right this instant " Elina was deeply shocked by her actions and also had a idea of what is going on but she does not want this to happen she trusted her friend and she really wanted to put a stop to this. But Crystal had no such intention she resolutely said " I, Crystal Lauren swear in the name of moon goddess that I will be your most loyal follower, never to betray, and follow all your orders for an eternity. Your Highness can you accept me? "

Crystal raised her bloodied palm and looked at her princess. Elina was appalled she did not what to say to her best friend. Everyone left her but here she was taking an oath to be with her. Initially she had planned to trick her back even if she would scolded or punished at least she would keep her life unlike staying with her which is obviously a dead end. After all she was but an abandoned princess who was the biggest block in her so called half brother's path to the throne.

' Accept her, she and Jamie have decided ' Lizzy spoke in her head. ' These two....' Elina knew Jamie it was Crystal's wolf. One person one wolf both were unmatched in their stubbornness. She sighed, took a stone and made a cut on her palm.

" I, Elina Roswell accept you Crystal Lauren as my faithful follower for an eternity " Saying this she took Crystal 's hand and their blood was mixed forming the oath.

A sliver like light enveloped both of them it was so bright and pure as if the entire area was covered in a holy light an enternal connection was build between the two of them. Slowly the light resided two girls were left in their original position. Crystal slowly stood up there was a tattoo formed on her wrist. It was a white wolf standing majestically with it stood another red one depicting Lizzy and Jamie.

" Look, aren't they beautiful Your Highness "

" Just call me Elina we are friends first and yes they are absolutely stunning "

" Alright I will keep that in mind. By the way yesterday I was in hurry when I heard you fighting I was at periphery of the forest so I hid my bag there it has some essentials it will help us for a while. " Saying this she started walking to the edge.

" Don't worry I have a credit card until we reach our destination it would be enough "

Both the girls were walking leisurely and only their voice echoed in the entire forest.

" CREDIT CARD " Crystal exclaimed " Won't they find us if you use that and destination where are we going " Her voice went higher with every word she said.

" Stop shrieking, they don't know about this it was left to me by my mother and we are going to see my maternal uncle. Before her death she told me about her family, she actually belonged to a powerful line of witches and warlocks but even the previous king didn't knew about this and she did not asked her family because she was afraid about her mate's life. Isn't it funny she was in that situation because of him yet she was worried for him. How ironic. "

The mood suddenly turned depressing. Crystal for once was quiet she can not say anything about this. It was after all a secret that everyone knew but no one talked about it. It was a taboo to even mention anything about Elina's mother because she was previous king James Roswell's true mate but not the queen. The King James did not wait for his mate instead took a powerful female from a strong pack to consolidate his power and took the throne with her help. Even though there are many true mates but if they do not find there mates these unions are acceptable too. No one expected his true mate to be found including himself but years later he met his true mate Arora when he was out on hunt. She was a witch did not knew who he was and happily followed him back but fate took turn to worse. He neither excepted her nor rejected her instead confined her in the castle for her entire life. He forbid her to meet anyone including Elina, he took her away the moment she was born. Elina would sneak in at times to see her but was always caught and punished. When Elina turned 13 her mother died due to severe depression, it was a big blow to the King James too. His health started declining and by the time Elina turned 17 King James died too and her half brother Harvey took the throne. The first thing he did was to declare Elina a threat to throne and ordered her to be executed. In front of power and benefits no one cared about the little gir, and that drove her to this point.

" Crystal, Crystal are you listening " A voice broke Crystal out of her thoughts she looked up to see Elina looking at her.

" OH! I am sorry what is it?

" We are almost out of the forest get your bag "

" Right of course " She looked around and spotted a shrub few meters ahead ." It's there. Let's go"

Soon they were in a small town called Jaush. It was still early and few people were most of them were wolves and some witches. Humans are already extinct for few hundred years. They went to small potions shop the most important thing was to get something to hide their scents. Just an old woman could be seen dusting around.

" Excuse me, are you are the owner " Elina smiled and asked while Crystal looked around the closely packed shops filled with colorful stones, potions, enchanted jewelleries.

" Yes, what would you like to get. Ah! There are some new bracelets which enables a protective shield. It's a good thing for two young girls like you. " The old woman sound cheerful.

" Really ! How long do they last? Oh wait are they beautiful "

" Crystal ! we are not here for that " Elina glared at her then again looked at the old woman and said " I am sorry but we are in hurry. Can you please get us something to hide our scents. "

" Sure why not, here take these pendants as long as you wear them your scent will be hidden but once you take them off they will become useless and."

Half an hour later they were out of the shop and on their way to another forest. Both of them had had changed their looks with the help of magic. Elina now had black hair and golden eyes while Crystal had blonde hair with black eyes. They can only run through different forest and no man's land if they want to leave quietly.

Three days later. It was already night and they were resting beside a cave. It was a well hidden spot and was also covered with different charms. Suddenly Elina looked up

" Crystal I smell blood and someone nearby" she whispered

Crystal for once looked serious " It could be a trap. I will go and see, you stay here. "

" No you stay here. I am faster and stronger than you, if it is a trap I will warn you. "

" But Eli what if..."

" Just stay here" Saying this Elina slowly walked for a distance and then suddenly stood still. Crystal who was right behind her saw this and came up to her while asking " what happe..."

She stopped because she was seeing what Elina saw a very badly injured boy. His clothes were in tatters there was blood all over his body, even bones could be seen in some places. It looked like a scene from a horror movie.
