VRMMORPG: The Other World Online

In a time after humanity was hit by the C-Virus, everything was relabeled. And that included humans. Those who awakened a mystical power called Qi became the Blessed and those who failed became the Qiless. The new minority. The people who did menial jobs. Those who should be shunned. The Other World, Earth's most popular VRMMORPG released its 5th version on 5th of September 2164 with the slogan "Qi Awakening to even the Qiless." A legendary Virtual World that made a not so legendary proclamation. Cheng Xiu, a Qiless, did not have hope to become an Expert in such games. She just wanted to read books, get good grades and reach a place where the lable of Qiless would not hurt her anymore. She didn't want to experience pain and suffering, thank you very much. But it seemed her best friend once again forgot that memo as she buys Cheng Xiu a game pod to play The Other World. And Cheng Xiu slowly realised that even a Qiless had an opportunity for Greatness in the VR World. Watch as she becomes the world's most powerful Qi user online! *** Warnings: There is some disturbing scenes in this, and annoying characters too. Crow

Yue looked at the vast arena before her with a frown.

A blue barrier dome suddenly surrounded her as Crow sat beside her.

"What is this?"

Crow laughed. "Sound Barrier. We have superhuman friends after all."

Yue looked away towards the battlefield again.

The ground was charred, there was almost no grass left and there were many holes and cracks in the soil.

The three Immortals had really tried their best to beat that girl.

"What's wrong?" Crow asked.

"Wondering what the skill she would get in this round would be."

"Are you worried?"

Yue shook her head. "I know you can beat her."

"Then why are you so worried about what skill that girl gets?"

Yue looked at the Yellow-robed man. "Don't find it strange that she seemed to have found the right sets of skills for both Brother Xian and Brother EverHill?"

Crow looked down, avoiding Yue's eyes. "It could be that she was lucky."

"I've always thought that I was loved by this game," Yue said in a huff. "And now, the game is going in her favour."

"You think she is taking your place in this game?"

Yue scowled at the underlying incredulity in his voice.

"Isn't she?"

Crow sighed. "I don't know what to tell you."

"What you think is happening. What you think is the truth."

Crow crouched on the ground and drew a spiral on the soil with his finger.

"I could say that you are just imagining things," he said in a low voice. "Or I can say that the System has always been fair and that it feels that 10 Immortal Level players forcing a low-level player into a Grandmaster's Arena battle in succession were a bottom line even the Devs couldn't cross."

Yue frowned as she heard the unsaid bit of his words. "Let alone me? Is that what you want to say?"

Crow smiled. "It's just a guess, Yue. No need to get so emotional about it."

Yue glared at the side face of the yellow-robed man.

"You have been avoiding looking at me for some time now."

Crow froze. "Have I?"

"What are you planning?"

"What would I plan?"

Yue could hear the slight hesitancy in his voice.

She gritted her teeth. "Are you interested in her?"

Crow hummed. "You could say that."

Yue glared at the man before her. "Should I be worried that you will sabotage us because of your interest?"

Crow laughed. "Why would I do that? If I win, wouldn't she have to be in my Guild?"

Yue glared at him.

Crow looked away at the accusation in her eyes.

"Brother Crow-"

Crow stood up, and walked towards San Zhe, ignoring Yue.

The blue dome around her broke and covered San Zhe and the other men of the group.

Lotus, unfortunately, or fortunately, ended up inside the dome as well because she was talking to Matchstick.

The woman looked at Crow in annoyance.

Crow gave her an apologetic shrug and continued to walk towards the only Rookie of the group.

San Zhe blinked at the walking Yellow banana in front of him. Who had that shade as their hair colour? Who was even obsessed with that colour so much?

Sister Xiu was right.

These people really were the Rainbow-squad.

Crow gave an all-teeth-showing grin.

"Hey man! San Zhe, right?" Crow asked with great enthusiasm.

San Zhe looked at him in suspicion. He nodded.

Crow put his arm around the younger man's shoulder. "Tell me more about this girl of yours, huh? Is she single?"

San Zhe sweatdropped. That was what this guy wanted to ask?

"I...um...I think so?"

Crow grinned. "Excellent! What's her favourite colour?"

San Zhe looked at him sideways. "Why do you ask?"

"Don't play dumb man, you can guess why!"

San Zhe pushed his hand away. "I don't know."

"Really?" Crow asked sceptically.

"Yeah!"

"Her favourite food?"

San zhe hesitated. "I don't think she has a perticular preference."

Crow nodded in understanding. "That's good. So she should be easy to feed later in life!"

San Zhe's eyebrow twitched. "What do you mean by that?"

Crow smirked. "Isn't it obvious dude? As her Guild Leader, don't you think that I should treat your friend well?"

"Huh?" Long Hei kicked Crow in the back. The Yellow-clad man stumbled into San Zhe. "And what do you mean by that? You jerk! You think you can beat her, even when she has already beaten EverHill?"

Crow stood up and dusted himself off. "Hey, Long Hei? Which side are you on? Shouldn't you be cheering me on?"

"Definitely not your side! Who will cheer for you?" Long Hei asked. "I hope that you die horribly!"

Crow sighed. "Man! Dude, you are way too much. Cursing your own teammates...why do I have such pig teammates?"

"You are the pig!" Long Hei said. He turned to Star Phoenix who sat on the ground and looked like he was enjoying a good show. "Brother Phoenix! Why are you not saying anything? Say something!"

"You are a pig teammate."

"I didn't mean you have to agree with him when I said you should say something."

Star Phoenix shrugged. "I don't side with evil."

"Who are you calling evil?"

Crow put his arm around San Zhe again. "How long have you known SelaXiu for?"

San Zhe glared. "Not long."

Crow hummed. "How old is your friend?"

San Zhe wrinkled his nose. "Too young for you."

"I'm 23 though?"

"Exactly."

Crow smiled. He held San Zhe in a chokehold. "Tell me, man! I'm just trying to get to know such a phenomenal person!"

San Zhe gritted his teeth. His heart was beating hard. "I believe she recently turned Eighteen."

Crow raised an eyebrow. "Eighteen? So young?"

San Zhe relaxed as he saw the disbelief in Crow's eyes. "Yup! She is so awesome, right!"

Crow smiled. "Right man! An Eighteen-year-old actually beat Lu WenXian, Lotus, and EverHill all on the same day! Wow! And she was only active in the game for so long in the game right!"

San Zhe nodded in excitement. "She has only been playing The Other World for Four to Five days now!"

Crow stilled.

The surrounding around them froze.

"What did you say?" Long Hei asked in disbelief.

Lotus and Matchstick stopped their discussion and whirled towards San Zhe, shock evident in their expression.

San Zhe could only think of one thing. Shit, he screwed up.

Why San Zhe! Why! He destroyed the entire plotline I set up! Please tell me this didn't destroy the story for you. Please!
