Lost Wealth

TWO YEARS LATER.

Two years had come and gone like the wind.

Inside a decrepit courtyard, a young man dressed in worn-out black robes slowly swept the compound with an old broom.

His movements were free and experienced.

The young man looked weak with his body looking like it was not far from turning into a skeleton.

The wind blew his long black hair making it flow like a stream of water.

Although this young lived in extreme poverty, he was very handsome.

His eyes looked lifeless but their deep green colour could steal the heart of any maiden.

When he was done sweeping the courtyard, he picked up the rubbish mostly consisting of fallen yellow leaves, and put it in a sack.

He looked up at the large tree in the courtyard that gave him so much work every day.

He did not hate the tree but he could never stop himself from hating the leaves.

The young man threw the large sack over his right shoulder and slowly walked out of the courtyard. As he walked out, a mature woman watched him through the only window to the small residence.

This woman was Wu Lin, supervisor Wu's wife.

The handsome young man who looked to be around eighteen years old was Wu Yi.

As he walked out, Wu Lin watched him intently with her brown eyes.

Wu Yi left the courtyard and as he walked on the small path outside, he continued putting more rubbish into the large bag.

He collected seven heaps of rubbish before he was done.

He then continued walking down the small mountain.

He passed many other residences that were in the same shape as the one he had left earlier.

The heavy bag that fled with rubbish slowed him down greatly.

He ran into other people along the path down the mountain.

These people all wore red robes with the insignia of a roaring lion on the back.

These were all disciples of the Lion Heart dojo.

They all ignored Wu Yi as he passed them.

Some of them even moved to the side so that they were not dirtied by Wu Yi.

Although he was handsome, he was extremely dirty and he smelled like dead fish.

Wu Yi descended the mountain after some time.

He walked through the building as though he was used to doing this.

He knew exactly where he was going.

Evening, he reached a small Hut at the edge of the dojo.

The moment he arrived, a fat man with a pig-like face came out of the small hut.

He sneered at Wu Yi as he looked him over. This fat man was a disciple of the dojo, unlike Wu Yi who was a servant.

"Do you not have any manners? Didn't your whore of a mother teach you anything?"

Wu Yi immediately bowed his head.

"Greetings to Senior Du," said Wu Yi.

The fat man smiled with pleasure all over his round face.

He moved closer to Wu Yi.

With each step he took, his body shook like it was filled with water.

The closer he moved to Wu Yi, the more Wu Yi remembered how tall this fat man was. He was a giant of a man.

He was a fat giant.

Pa, the fat man slapped Wu Yi.

That one slap was enough to throw Wu Yi to the ground.

He had even lost consciousness. Wu Yi only woke up after an hour.

He looked around to find that he was alone.

This was not the first time this had happened.

He stood up with his swollen red cheek and walked back to the mountain.

Two years ago, supervisor Wu had the idea to turn his family into a martial family. He had decided to take Wu Yi along as a servant.

Everything went as planned and the entire family had been able to join the dojo as disciples and Wu Yi as their servant.

The only thing he did not foresee was his Young master Chu Han's reaction to the news that he had joined the Lion Heart dojo.

The entire family had to escape through the night with only the wealth they could carry on their backs.

Fortunately, the dojo did not turn their backs on them.

Wu Yi shook his head at this level of incompetence.

He had used a lot of effort for him to build a lot of the wealth that the supervisor lost with a single stupid decision.

He had based his decision on outdated information.

He had thought young master Chu Han and the Lion Heart dojo were still on good terms.

This was not the case.

Wu Yi reached the small residence at the top of the mountain. This mountain was called the Outer Disciple Mountain.

It was home to all outer disciples.

Outer disciples were not very highly regarded in the dojo but they were still disciples.

Wu Yi went behind the residence and there, he entered a small bathroom.

After taking a quick shower.

His body smelled fresh and all the dirt that had been covering his face was removed.

He put on another set of black robes that represented his status as a servant of the dojo.

He quickly watched the other set of robes and hung them on a small tree.

He then quickly went into the house.

Inside, only Wu Lin, the supervisor's wife could be seen.

She sat next to the window. She was dressed in the dojo's red robes giving her a mature attractive aura.

Even while living in poverty, she was still beautiful. Wu Yi did not dare look at her as he cleaned the house and dusted the place.

He then entered the kitchen and prepared a simple meal for the woman who was supposed to be his mother.

That night, she ate the food on the table all alone.

Her son Wu Chen and daughter Wu Li were on a mission for the dojo.

As for supervisor Wu, he had gotten a job in the missions office of the dojo.

He usually worked until late in the night.

Sometimes, he did not even return home.

He was trying to rebuild his fortune by any means necessary.
