Escape
The moment Lucas turned his back against her, she switched to running mode and ran like her life depended on it. She knew he would be able to outrun her. She knew he would be able to catch up to her in no time. But she would want to believe that she had a chance to get away from such a tricky situation.
To her surprise, she did not hear any footstep behind her. But she did not dare to stop just yet. She walked out to the concrete jungle as red and orange lights from various vehicles greeted her.
Her eyes had not fully adjusted to the sudden change of brightness of the outdoor as the place she had been living had soft lights. She raised her arms temporarily to shield her eyes from the luminosity before continuing her self marathon.
She did not bother the pain that was building up against her tensed muscles. She did not bother the disturbing stares people giving her.
At that moment, she needed to find a place far away from everyone she knows.
