Coins and Casts

A few days later after school, Toby went to the alleyway and he got there before Eva. He sat down next to the big rock in the alley way thinking of all the lectures given to him the past week. Except for Mr. Martinez's class. All he did was sit down and read a newspaper, it was as if he didn't really care about what the kids did. But to be honest I'd do the same thing if I were in his place, who would want to teach a bunch of bratty kids? Although the first few times when he pulled out the newspaper, most kids portended this to be a test but they were wrong. Their real teacher was out sick and this teacher was laid back.

During the week, Toby managed to buy sunflower and pumpkin seeds for the parrot, he was a successful emissary. With his wily abilities, he was able to get them at a low price and used up the remaining money. The parrot seemed to favor these seeds, and it had no problem scarfing them down. But with these seeds the parrot ate faster which was terrifying.

"What's with that wistful look?"

As Toby looked up he almost screamed, he just saw a wraith. But in reality it was just Eva wearing a white mask to scare him. This mask contrasted with her tan skin. Once Toby calmed down he noticed that Eva had a small item in her hand.

"You finished it?!" Toby asked excitedly.

"Yep," she said after taking off her mask.

Eva walked over to the parrot and after a lot of bites, screeches, yelling (Eva), and struggles, the cast was placed upon the parrot's right wing. While Eva had red claw and bite marks all over her, Toby went down to observe the bird. He wasn't clawed because the parrot favors him, unlike Eva. For any questions, yes the ointment was used.

"You stupid bird, you should be grateful to me!" Eva yelled,

"Now, because of me, once your wing is healed you'll be able to fly and you won't fall into any wells, weirs, and such. But you should fall for all the trouble you caused me." Eva retorted angrily.

"What's a weir?" Toby interjected, Eva must've forgotten how savvy and knowledge-craving Toby could be.

"A dam."

"What's a dam?"

"A dam is something that stops water flow?"

"So a weir blocks water flow?"

"No weir lifts up water." Toby looked down at her in confusion, then she explained the concept of large bodies of water and dams to him. Throughout this, he couldn't understand the enmity towards her and the atmosphere was silent.

"Do you have a coin collection?" Eva asked breaking off the silence.

"No.." He did but lost all of the coins, little did he know that those coins paid for his dinner.

"Really, it felt like you're the type of guy to have a panoply of coin collections."

"Nope, never did it before," Toby said, his guilty consciousness weighing on him.

'Guess I was wrong,' She thought indifferently while Toby was embarrassed.
