Chapter VI

"How about you start," I said once the remaining Quileute people had arrived. " To be wolves but not children of the moon is very interesting. These two lovely ladies would like the story of how this came to be."

"And what story will be exchanging?" Harry asked.

"How Vampires descended from Blood Lords. Blood Lords from the human- fallen angel hybrid descendant from Lucifer the son of God. A once in a lifetime story and proof of the divine." I replied.

"Then let me start from the beginning," said Billy.

"According to Quileute legend, the spirit warriors were the first to shift from humans into wolves. Quileute population was always small, but we never disappeared since it was believed that we had magic in our bloodlines. This belief is true…

The Quileute tribe settled in La Push and became efficient fishermen and shipbuilders. As time passed, other peoples coveted their land and moved against them for it. The tribe was small and could not defend themselves, so they took their ships and left the land. At sea, Kaheleha used the magic in their blood to defend it. He was the first Spirit Chief in Quileute history. He and all the men left the ships in spirit only, using the original power of Quileute Astral Projection, leaving their bodies behind under the care of the women. Though they could not physically hurt the enemy, the warriors had other ways. They blew fierce winds into enemy camps; they could make great screaming in the wind and could manipulate animals to do their bidding. Animals were the only ones that could see them and help. The invading tribe had packs of thick-furred dogs to pull their sleds in the north, and which were set against them. Bats were brought out of the cliff caverns. As a result, the dogs and bats won and the survivors of the invaders scattered thinking the harbor cursed. The Quileutes released the dogs, who ran wild, and returned to their bodies victorious…

The Hohs and the Makahs made treaties with the Quileutes because they wanted nothing to do with their magic. Till this day, those treaties still connect our people…

Generations passed and the last of the great Spirit Chiefs came to be. Taha Aki was a man of peace and was known for his wisdom. However, there was one man named Utlapa who believed that they should use their magic to expand their control over the Hohs and the Makahs, building an empire. When the spirit warriors left their bodies their minds were all connected with each other. Taha Aki did not like what Utlapa wanted and banned him from the tribe. Utlapa left and hid in the nearby forest.

Taha Aki was vigilant and protected his people even when there was no danger. Every so often, the Spirit Chief would leave the village to a sacred and secret place in the mountains. He would leave his body behind and searched the surrounding areas for any dangers or threats. One day, Utlapa followed Taha Aki planning to kill him, but as he waited for him to leave his body he hatched another plan. Utlapa left his body, took Taha Aki's body, and killed his own. Taha Aki knew immediately what was happening when Utlapa joined him in the spirit world. He raced back to his sacred place but was too late. He followed his body in his spirit self down to the tribe. For weeks he watched with despair as Utlapa made sure everyone believes he was Taha Aki. Then Utlapa's first edict came: no warrior was to enter the spirit world because he had a vision of danger, but in truth, he was afraid of Taha Aki. Utlapa took liberties with the tribe that no one ever dreamed of. He took a second and a third wife, even though Taha Aki's wife still lived. Eventually, Taha Aki brought a great wolf down the mountains to kill Utlapa and free the tribe, but Utlapa only hid from it behind his warriors. The wolf ended up killing a young man, making Taha Aki's grief greater.

Taha Aki had been away from his body long enough to be in agony. He felt doomed of never being ever to cross the line between life and death. The great wolf followed him through the forest and Taha Aki felt jealous of the animal; at least it had a body and a life. At that moment the Spirit Chief had an idea that changed the future of the Quileutes. He asked the animal if he could share his body with him and the wolf complied. As a single being, the wolf and the man went to the village. The people feared the wolf, shouting for the warriors' help. The warriors came with spears in their hands, but they stopped in surprise of what the wolf was doing: the wolf was retreating from the warriors and trying to yelp the songs of their people. The warriors realized what it was doing and could only think that it was being influenced by a spirit.

An old warrior, Yut, disobeyed the orders of the false chief and left his body. Yut gathered the truth in an instant and welcomed Taha Aki. Almost instantly, Utlapa realized what had happened and raced towards Yut's body with his knife. The other warriors were confused. Yut went back into his body but could not fight Utlapa off before warning the others, as he was too old. Taha Aki watched as Yut's spirit left the world and he returned to the wolf's body feeling a great rage. The wolf shuddered and transformed into a man before the eyes of the warriors. The man did not look like Taha Aki's body, but like his spirit self, which the warriors recognized instantly. Utlapa tried to run but Taha Aki had the strength of the wolf and killed him. Upon realization of what had happened, everything returned to normal. The only change he kept in place was the forbidding of spirit travel. From then on he was known as the Great Wolf or the Spirit Man. He led the tribe for many years because he did not age. He fathered many sons, who in time found that they too could turn into wolves on reaching manhood. However, they were all different because the wolf form reflected the spirit of the man. Some became warriors like Taha Aki and did not age, others did not like to transform, and started to age

After Taha Aki gave up his spirit self, trouble began in the North with the Makahs. Several young women had disappeared and they believed the neighboring wolves were to blame. However, all the wolves knew it was none of them because their minds were still connected with each other. Taha Aki did not want a war, especially since he could not lead his people any longer. He gave his eldest son, Taha Wi, the responsibility of finding who was to blame. Taha Wi led five wolves in search through mountains looking for evidence but they only found a strange, sweet scent. They followed it and the journey took them so far north that Taha Wi sent the two younger brothers back to inform the chief. Taha Wi and the other two never returned.

A year later, two Makah maidens were taken from their homes on the same night and the Makahs called upon the wolves. The Quileutes found the same sweet scent and went on the hunt once more. Only one of them returned. Yaha Uta, the eldest son of Taha Aki's third wife, returned carrying strange cold pieces of a corpse. He described what had happened to his brothers. One of them underestimated the strength of the creature and became a victim. Yaha Uta and his other brother were more careful but the creature matched their movements and got his hands on one of them. Yaha Uta found an opening on the creature's throat and began tearing at him desperately trying to save his brother. It was too late but he succeeded in ripping his enemy apart.

Yaha Uta laid the remains of the creature on the ground to be examined. Suddenly the corpse began to attach itself together and so the elders set fire to it. They spread the ashes far and wide, except a small bag which Taha Aki wore around his neck to be warned if the creature ever decided to get himself together again. The creature was called the Cold One and the Blood Drinker. They feared there were others like it since they only had one wolf protector left. Then came the Cold Woman, its mate. She was the most beautiful creature to be seen, though one small boy claimed the smell hurt his nose. An elder heard this and yelled for them to get away. He was the first to die at the mercy of the woman. She then proceeded to the other people until Yaha Uta arrived, followed by Taha Aki, his third wife, and the elders. When Yaha Uta was defeated, Taha Aki turned into an old gray wolf with the strength given by his anger alone. He began fighting the Cold Woman, when his third wife came to a conclusion.

She had just seen her son killed and now her husband ran a terrible danger, along with the rest of her sons and tribe. She heard every word the witnesses told the council and heard Yaha Uta's version of events the night the other one was beaten. She knew that his brother's divergence had saved him. She grabbed a knife from one of her sons, ran towards the blood drinker, and stabbed herself in the heart. The Cold Woman could not turn away from the fresh blood and gave into the thirst. Taha Aki bit her throat and finished her off along with two of his sons who felt such rage at seeing their mother dead, that they turned into wolves. After that, Taha Aki never returned to his human self, staying to protect his wife's body and leaving for the forest, never to return to the tribe.

Taha Aki's descendants no longer turned to wolves when they reached manhood. Only when a cold one was near would they return. The cold ones always came in one or two so the pack stayed small with 3 wolves until a bigger coven came.

The leader of the coven spoke to Ephraim Black as if he were a man and promised not to harm the Quileutes. His strange yellow eyes gave proof of this, and a treaty was offered to the tribe even though there was no need—they outnumbered the wolves and could have won easily if they fought"

The story ended and only the crackling of the fire resounded throughout the area. Looking around, I saw this beautiful tribe and their pairs. I saw the widows and widowers. The young and old. After the telling of the story, I heard their hearts and minds, each stimulated by the spirit of their ancestors and the bravery that echoed for generations.

But there was one person in the tribe who thought of the third wife and her sacrifice. That strong endearing love for a person that would make on sacrifice themself just to see that lover alive and safe. And in this person's heart was a sense of longing as she stared across the fire at Sam Uley.

I couldn't help but inspect her mind and view the sad story of a lover lost. She soon felt my gaze and looked at me with confusion. I gave her a simple nod that startled her a bit. She wondered if I could read her mind or feel her pain, but she felt sympathy and care in my gaze.

"Out of respect of that treaty." I spoke after refocusing, "I'm to communicate like civilized folks."

I stood up and the tribe looked at me.

"Allow me to introduce myself since I will be around a lot from now on. My name is, and I kid you not, the Storm Prince of the Century, Obediah of Balobedu, First of my name. I was born Royalty in a Queendom that has been around since the dawn of Humanity. I was sired in a family, that only gave birth to women. I had no claim to the throne. And I was okay with it.

In 10,000 BC, the world flourished with advanced technology. Flying cars, free electricity, across the planet in minutes. There was no sickness, and death only came after hundreds of years. We had the power to venture into space and back, grow crops in a day, build cities in a night.

Each of us was born with personal energy, like your spirit warriors. Mental abilities, spiritual power, and elemental power. We could train to tap into the Ambient Energy of the universe to become strong, cast spells, and learn new abilities.

More accomplished sorcerers could use extradimensional energy and overturn the seas, shatter mountains, and split the sky. My mother, the queen, was one of those people. We lived like any other human.

But thousands of years before my birth, a woman name Lilith gave birth to Lucifer's child. This child would become known as the Blood God. He ravaged the earth year after year. And finally, this divine horror appeared in Balobedu. Nothing we did could stop him. He massacred my people and devoured the blood of my kin until his grandfather, God, stepped in and killed him.

On that day, we did not die and the venom left in our bodies turned us into the first vampires. Our bodies became hot as furnaces, our eyes turned black with hunger, and red when we fed. We don't have pale skin, and my body continued to grow to maturity before the aging stopped.

My hair and nails still grow, my eyes are their natural color, and I do not sparkle in the sunlight. After my family created vampires of their own did these traits come about. The cold skin and pale complexion that you all know.

After become this which was forced on me, I retain my powers as a sorcerer. My magic even grew bigger after the transition. I've lived longer than anyone else on earth. I can not be killed. But I was sealed away for 500 years by traitors. Now I am back to rebuild family and gain enough strength to protect them from those who think themselves lords over the vampiric race."

"10,000BC was more advanced than the modern world?" A boy next to Billy asked.

"Yes. Even after that, during the raise until the fall of Atlantis. That is when the Gods left the earth and humanity declined." I replied.

"Gods? As in more than one?" Sam asked.

"Yes, Norse gods, Greek gods, Chinese gods, and immortals. The African gods and those of South America. They all exist. But something forced them into hiding. I was grounded at the time so I don't what happened but all of our technology was eradicated. The world conductors, what the world now calls, pyramids, were disabled and sent the world into a dark age. Our greatest civilizations were swallowed by earth and sea."

Billy exhaled slowly. It was a lot to take in. To know the world is bigger than what it seems, can cripple lesser minds.

"So what is it that you want from us, Prince Obediah?" Harry asked.

"Just Obediah is fine." I replied, "I hear that the Quileute Tribe lost a lot of lands. Your power is now bound to the existence of vampires. I want to change that. I want to help you reclaim your lost lands. I want to teach you how to spirit walk and give those who lost their chance to shift, an opportunity to become a wolf, like Taha Aki"

The tribe murmured in disbelief.

"What are you saying? You want to help your enemies become stronger?" Asked Sam.

"Enemies? When did we become enemies? Two vampires unrelated to me attacked your people centuries ago. I'm here now, talking to all of you to establish a relationship. Strong Neighbors are good for me as long as peace is established between us."

"And what do you want?" Billy asked.

"Nothing you can give me. I plan on buying land around Forks and eventually most of Forks itself. My Coven will grow and vampire traffic will rise. Meaning more of your people's blood will be triggered. Eventually, your numbers will be high and the change will put a lot of stress on the tribe and its structure. Eventually, the vampire community will hear of this and danger will come. I want to handle this problem now on the condition of peace and border security in exchange for land and power."

"Free-range to kill vampires?" Sam asked.

"If they cross through your land, fair game," I replied. "My guest will be given a specific route to get to me. Everyone else is uninvited."

"And the treaty with the Cullens?" Harry asked.

"Will remain the same. We want to keep our territory. Lord Obediah merely wants to be our neighbors. Better, he wants an understanding with his neighbors seeing as we can't stop him." Carlisle explained.

"All us a few days to discuss and we'll get back to you." Said Billy, "I'll send…"

"I have a cellphone. You can just call me. Sending people takes a lot of effort. And next time, maybe you all can visit me. I'll cook a big meal and all."

I then went around, meeting the elders and the family members present. I seemed easier to get accustomed to due to my human appearance, but the reluctance was still there.

Sometime later, Tanya, Kate, Carlisle, and I appeared in Cullen territory.

"That went well," said Carlisle.

"Better than well. In the coming months, Vampire Quileute relations will reach a new high. Trust me. This will be good for all of us. It's better than massacring them out of annoyance right?"

"Yes, Lord!" the trio replied quickly.

"See, I can learn. This isn't the time of conquering and massacre. Money talks louder than the sword." I tell them, "Blood will come, but it will not stain our lands. Hmm, well, thank you, Carlisle, for setting up the meeting. Ladies, I'll be seeing you later."

"You're going to the human girl again?" Tanya asked.

"You must really like her. Considering my sisters and I have been keeping you perfectly satisfied," said Kate.

"Would believe if I said theirs something missing from our little orgies. Something I get only when I'm with her." I spoke as I think of my time with Angela.

"Ahh, you should keep that to yourself when your daughters arrive," said Tanya.

"I can handle them. Can you see yourselves home?" I asked.

"Of course. Good night, Lord." Said Kate.

"Good night, Lord." Tanya and Carlise followed up.

I then speed into town. When I arrived at Angela's house, she was already asleep. I slipped into her bed and she threw her arms around me, taking in the familiar warmth I generated.

"You're late." she moaned.

"It went a little longer than I intended. Go ahead sleep, love. We'll talk in the morning." I told her.

"Sure we will. Between the house of lust fiends and your work, I miss you a lot," she said.

Running my fingers gently through her hair, Anglea snuggles closer. "All of that changes from now on."

"Don't tell me Obediah. Just show me. I really like you. And I know there are things that I can't do for you as a human. I also don't want to change you. But I still need things to you know? Most of it is satisfied by just having you around."

The little energy that she had finally trickled out and she drifted back into a sound sleep.

When morning came, she woke up all surprised to see me. She thought I was a dream. It was quite adorable really.

"Are you coming to school today?" she asked.

"I am. I wanted to go with you."

Angela's eyes went wide and she rushed out of bed to dress. After spending tie with Alice her style had changed completely. While she dressed, I showered, then dressed for the rain and chill.

"When did you leave clothes here?" she asked.

"Mason and Aaron are outside waiting on us," I replied, causing Angela to frown.

"I thought…"

"You thought right." I interrupted, "They'll drive us and we'll talk business. This is how we spend more time together."

"Okay…" she agreed.

During the drive, things got a little more intense than I inspected, but Angela surprised me.

"Boss, these are the papers that Jasper and Alice faxed over yesterday. Once you sign, the flow of materials will start and the construction of the servers can begin. The talks in Brazil are scheduled for next month. Three owners of graphite deposits." Said Mason.

"The energy and Aerospace industries are doing well but we hit a snag," said Aaron.

"Go on." I urged him.

"Boss… there was a leak. The plans for the next five years are on market. Jasper and Alice are made for the work that needs to be done." said Aaron.

"Ang, how do you think this should be handled. It's tricky."

"Me?" she asked.

"This is what a future with me looks like. How about you give it a try."

"Well...do we know where the leak came from?"

"Boss Lady, we know everything," Mason replied.

"Switch out the CEO, Update security. You should make sure journalists aren't sniffing around considering the companies have been around for while and the mergers are still hot topics. If there are journalists, handle them. Then plug the leak, find the information, and…"

Angela paused. She stared at me for a moment, hesitant.

"And what?" I asked.

"Handle the potential buyers the way we handle the leak." she said, " It doesn't matter their position. If we can get to them, then isn't that telling the world that we aren't to be crossed no matter how young or company appears to be."

"Isn't that a little harsh?" I asked.

"Aren't things supposed to be done this way? We can't let them do as they please. It'll make you look weak and...you're the strongest person I know." Angela explained.

I chuckled as I gave the boys the green light.

"Boss Lady is about to make waves!" Aaron sang.

Mason hummed as he got on the phone issuing kill orders and clean-ups.

"Boss, as for the security, we should put 'it' online," said Aaron.

"Make it happen. Then put the new security measure in place. I want every building to be tighter than Area 51."

"You mean fort Knox?" Aaron asked.

"No, only two places in the world have the tightest cyber and physical security, One is Area 51 and the other is Russian agency. Stumbled upon them during my time on the internet. Anyway, make it happen."
