Raging thunder and rain

They arrived at the Zhentian Waterfalls with nothing short of a miracle and it took a lot longer than any of them had presumed.

In a short time, Liu Sumeng's horse had been spooked so often that the poor beast fell to the side dead after the end of the first day. A storm hit despite the heavens being bright and clear. And then they were attacked by a horde of evil spirits that seemingly came out of nowhere.

All in all, it wasn't looking good. And when they finally arrived in the small town by the Zhentian Waterfalls, the day was besotted by raging thunder and rain. The trees shook violently, branches cracking and snapping under the pressure of wind alone.

Chen Anyue watched the roaring storm from the comforts of the inn they stayed at, her expression stuck in a blank semi-smile. She sat on the couch, body limp and weak, as though she might fall asleep at a moment's notice.

Though it was midday, everything was dark.
