Unexpected Breakthrough

"You… Saved me?"

When she heard that, Shaya was shocked.

[That guy at the back doesn't look much older than me and this kid, he looks about the same age as me maybe younger, but he doesn't look like he's lying…]

"How old are you two exactly?"

"I'm 5 and Roman's 8!"

When she heard that, Shaya felt like logic was just thrown out the window as she looked at these two boys.

[I'm only 10, but these two are both younger than me! How on earth is that possible?!]

Orion saw the shock on her face and knew exactly what was going through her head. After all calling the 2 of them monstrous talents would be the understatement of the century.

"But you look so much older!"

Orion showed off his developing muscles as he replied.

"My dad says the more you eat, the bigger and stronger you grow... And I eat a lot!"

Shaya was about to say something else when she suddenly came back to her senses and realised she had no idea who they were or what they wanted with her.

She looked at the two vigilantly as she asked.

"Why did you save me, what do you want with me?!"

Orion shook his head as he replied.

"We don't want anything with you… We originally recognised Hancock as the princess of Amazon Lily and then noticed you guys were being followed, so we waited to see if you needed our help. When you couldn't hold out anymore we took action."

"Why did you want to save inhabitants of Amazon Lily, even if you saved us, as a man you won't be allowed entry."

Orion smiled as he knew she misunderstood. Roman was quick to interject as he replied

"My mum's the little sister of the current Empress of Amazon Lily!"

As soon as he said that Roman quickly covered his mouth with his hands as he realised his mistake.

[Whoops. Dad and Uncle Marcus said we can't say anything about our families.]

Orion smiled wryly as he shook his head helplessly at the big mouth of this brother of his. But when Shaya heard that her eyes opened wide in shock.

"That's impossible…"

Seeing as the cat was already out of the bag, Orion said.

"No it's true, his mum really is the sister of Amazon Lily's Empress!"

Hearing that and seeing their genuine reaction when they spilt the news, Shaya started to believe them. She looked at Orion and asked.

"As his brother, doesn't that make you her son as well… Why did you say, "his mum" instead of our mum?"

Orion smiled as he replied.

"We're sworn brothers. We don't have the same parents!"

Shaya nodded as the concept of a sworn brother wasn't new to her.

Suddenly she remembered that the lives of the princess and her sisters are probably still in danger.

"How long have I been unconscious, did Hancock and the others escape?"

Roman was unhappy as he answered her question with a question of his own.

"I know she's your princess or whatever, but she was willing to throw you to the wolves, so she could survive, why do you care so much? Why is her life so much more important than yours?!"

Shaya clenched her teeth as she said firmly.

"I'm not a member of Amazon Lily, I only met them after I was captured by the celestial dragons and turned into their slave.

Before he died, my dad once told me that the Kuja Pirates once saved his life and he owed them a giant debt of gratitude, he asked me to help them if I ever got the chance. That was the last thing he asked of me before he died.

Later, my dad ended up dying to protect me and that was the first and last thing my dad ever asked of me… I'm willing to die to accomp…"

Before she could finish her sentence Orion slapped her round the face as he said icily.

"Your dad would be so disappointed if he could see you now!"

She glared at Orion before punching him in the head in anger but was shocked when her fist went straight through.

Just as she realised the kind of monster that attacked her Orion slapped her again and shouted.

"WAKE UP!"

She looked at him in confusion but before she could say anything he said coldly.

"Do you really think your dad wanted to see you die for someone you don't even know?! He gave his life so that you could live and now you're trying to throw that same life away?! Snort! You're truly ungrateful!"

As she heard that, she realised he was right!

Thinking to there she collapsed on to her knees and burst out in tears.

Orion smiled as he put her hand on her shoulders and said.

"Your dad gave his life, so you could live on, so live on, not just for yourself but for him too! Live a life he could be proud of!

As for repaying his debt. We'll help you, right Rome? Rome…"

As he said that he turned to Rome who he noticed had his eyes closed. When he felt his aura evolving he smiled slightly as he said gently.

"About time you broke through to the Halberd Student boundary!"

After 30 seconds, Roman opened his eyes and as he did his aura erupted. Shaya felt as if she was looking at little god of war. He stood straight like a spear that threatened to pierce the skies above, yet there was this sharpness that would chop anything that stood in his way.

Roman stood there with a smile appreciating his new found state of mind.

[After 3 years of training I finally broke through to the Halberd Student boundary, I didn't think it'd be like this though. Haha it took me getting over my fear of killing to break through.]

Seeing the grin on Roman's face, Orion couldn't help but ask.

"I'm guessing you overcame your fear of killing?"

Roman nodded with a smile as he said.

"I'm no hero but as long as I see something I don't agree with, I won't hesitate to do what's required of me!"
