Chapter 3 / who is Ace?

The very same day that we discovered the boys identity Lou and I set sail for the Moby Dick. I looked at the Vivre card pointing towards our destination while thinking back to Lou's and my conversation.

I felt terrible for dragging her into this. Although honestly I didn't even know how I got dragged into it myself. We were both about to put our lifes in danger for a boy we've never met and whom we owed nothing to. In fact all we were acting on was a dream and a nudge in our stomach telling us that we were supposed to do something.

At first I had attempted to leave Lou behind, but she would hear nothing of it and to be honest I was extremely relieved by that. Ever since I rescued her about 123 years ago we had been inseparable and the thought of being without the jolly little fairy was truly unnerving.

The Luz didn't need much observation and could navigate itself when administered a Vivre card or eternal pose (navigational equipment). Therefore Lou and I had time to mentally prepare for entering the outside world again and to do some research on who and what we were dealing with.

As we had read in the paper, the boy's name was Portgas D Ace. According to our intel he had grown up on Dawn island in the Goa kingdom located in the East Blue. Considering that he was raised by mountain bandits it was our guess that he must be an orphan, but his parents and birth were seemingly unknown.

Apparently he had set out to sea at the age of seventeen and formed his own pirate crew called the Spade pirates. During their rather short lived adventure Ace had eaten the Mera Mera no Mi and thus gained logia type fire powers. He however wasn't strong enough to beat Whitebeard and was forced to join Eddie's crew after challenging him and loosing ( You go Eddie!).

It seemed that Eddie's hearty personality still does wonders, as Ace had turned into Whitebeard's second division commander and loyal "son". After the fourth division commander Tach was murdered by a subordinate of Ace he went after the culprit.

Blackbeard however overpowered Ace with his new acquired devil fruit powers and used him to buy himself the title of Shichibukai (warlord of the sea). Now Portgas D Ace was held in Impel Down awaiting his execution and Whitebeard was on the move to save him.

So this man called Blackbeard has the Yami Yami no Mi now? That's not good. That is really bad. Especially if he is this unscrupulous.

"Got anything new, Lou?"

"No, you?"

I closed my eyes focusing on the clones I had send out to collect information.

"No, nothing."

"Oh I hope we reach Eddie in time." The little fairy said as she looked at the Vivre card that I had installed in the Luz's navigation system.

"Me too."

Ace's POV

I awoke to the feeling of being watched scrunching up my face in pain as I turned to the owner of the eyes that had brought me back to consciousness.

"Hey old man stop staring will you."

Jinbei scoffed only letting his eyes flicker away for a second before turning back to me.

"Someone's coming."

As soon as he said that a group of people came into view.

I lowered my head not wanting to give the marines the joy of my attention.

"You have a special visitor Ace." The voice of the most annoying man in all of Impel Down (the world's most secure prison) announced. I was about to just let my thoughts drift away when the name of my visitor rang through the air. Boa Hancock, the pirate Empress.

What the hell is someone like her doing here?

What she told me next led my world to collapse.

"Luffy is here. He is going to save you."
