Night Conversations

Herena glanced again at the door to their home, her eyes getting thinner and thinner as she continued to blink twice, three times, and so on.

Her eyes widened as she did so, asking, "Where are the young man and the old butler?" Herena was doubting herself.

After then, she cleared her vision because she might have been seeing something that wasn't there by wiping her eyes.

She took a heavy breath after gazing inside the opening for too long.

Herena shook her head once more and shrugged her shoulders before moving toward the garden. "Perhaps it was just my imagination," she said.

The darkness behind her shocked her as she prepared to stand and move to the opposite side.

She was ready then to strike the ground with her butt once more when two warm hands grabbed her waist, bending her back into an arch.

She asked herself aloud, with her eyes closing, "Huh?" However, after a few more seconds, she heard someone sigh, and the warm air kept piercing her neck.
