Griff watches me with a bemused expression.
"Say something.'
He is unsure and I can see it in his eyes. "You think it is risky?" I add. I need my best friend right now and even though things are still shaky between us, I trust that he will not betray me. He committed a crime and he paid for it.
"You know it is risky Lo."
I nod.
I needed the truth, and he gave it to me. "It is almost over. I need to set up this meeting with them. Make sure that we are safe before I can even relax."
It has been a couple of days and the bodies of the deceased are still in the morgue, cold and untouched. I can't bury them until I am sure that we won't have any more people to bury.
