It's been 3 weeks since Simon left, he kept Charlotte and his mim updated one a week. Which Charlotte relayed to me. From what Charlotte told me, his mission might be longer than planned, there were some unforeseen circumstances at play and they couldn't execute the mission just yet. He could keep in touch with them everyday due to safety procedures. Which made me worry more, what if something happened to him how would anyone know?
I was invited to lunch today with Charlotte and Eva, they wanted to make sure I was okay. Since it was nice and sunny we sat outside. It was great to be able to go out and hang with Charlotte. But she reminded me so much of Simon, it was hurtful reminder.
"Lobster bisque" the waiter says as he puts the plate in front of me. It looked so delicious
"Thank you" I smile politely
"So Li, how are things?" Charlotte says while sipping her Pinot
"I've been okay, work has been super hectic and I've been on the look out for a new place too"
"You know Simon would much rather you stay at his" Charlotte replies
"Why do you say that? Did he say something?"
"Well, he just said that we should try to convince you to say there. I mean to save you some money of course" she looks away somehow I feel like there's more to it.
"Anyway enough of me, How does it feel to live with christian?" I smile at her changing the subject. God knows I would much rather not speak about Simon.
"OMG- he is so messy, it is insane I keep picking up after him but I wouldn't have it any other way. It was the right decision to move in together we are so happy" I smile at her
"That sounds great Char, I'm happy for you"
I ate my lunch while listening to Char and Eva talk about Christian living with her. I rub my chest feeling a little nauseous.
"You okay babe? you look a bit pale?"
"Yeah I just - erm I think that lobster bisque didn't agree with me" before I could stop it I could feel myself about to throw up. I couldn't keep anything down lately. I quickly run to the bathroom and throw up. The stress is really getting to me. I hear the door open as I am washing my face.
"You okay darling?" Eva says stroking my back. I quickly dry my face.
"Yeah just been stressed out lately, constantly feeling nauseous and throwing up. I guess work getting to me" I turn off the tap. Eva is staring at me with her mouth slightly open.
"Li? how long have you been feeling like this?" she asks
"I'm not sure a little bit before Simon left, why?" I say drying my hands
"Do your boobs hurt or feel fuller?" I laugh out loud
"Eva!" I giggle, she smiles. Charlotte walks in "I'm serious?" her eyes wide
"What's going on?" Charlotte asks "Nothing, your mom wants to know about my boobs?" I giggle "What? Mom!"
She takes mine and charlotte's hand " My darlings, I'm being very serious. Just answer please" me and Charlotte look at each other
"Do your boobs feel weird?"
I look at Charlotte again "I meant sometimes I guess but that's normal right"
"Getting cravings? Feeling more tired than usual? Some scent or smell make you feel sick?"
"Y-yeah, wait how do you?" I frown at her, she gasps
"Oh my!"she puts her hand over her mouth "What mom?"
"Lina I think you might be pregnant" all the blood drained from my face. What? no? I can't be
"No I'm not. I ha-had my period last month" I shake my head and frown at her
"Sometimes people still get their periods" she says
"If you are pregnant you need to know straight away, I'll book you a private appointment now with my good friend"
"Ye-yeah, okay" Charlotte is starring at me shocked. "I'm going to call her now" Eva leaves the bathroom with me and Charlotte still in shock.
"Babe you okay?"
"I don't know Char, I just found out I may be carrying Simon's baby. I don't know how I feel" I look at myself in the mirror, with my hand on my tummy. Simon, I'm pregnant with his baby.
"I don't blame you, this is crazy. I can't believe you are- well you might be"
I couldn't help the tears falling down my cheek, why did this have to happen now. Charlotte hugs me. "Babe it'll all work out I promise you, we are here for you"
We leave the bathroom and make our way outside to grab our stuff. "Okay girls that's all booked, let's go"
