The four of them hurried through the street back towards Shuule's property, Set less urgent than Shuule, Anna still dumbfounded, and Aries' face unreadable.

"Set," Anna hissed at the snake, the first time she really directed any conversation towards him directly. "Do you really have no opinion about this?"

"The others were just waiting for him to hibernate," Aries interjected. Only the birds had less advanced senses of hearing. The herbivores had large ears and were just as good at hearing whispers. "I decided that wasn't respectful."

Anna's nostrils flared, but that did... make sense.

They walked in awkward silence until they got farther from the main streets of the city, the houses getting more scattered and the brush becoming thicker. Shuule's paced had slowed, letting go of Arie's wrist as she crossed her arms and turned to Anna.

"Are you really just worried about me or do you have a problem with the plant eaters?"
