"What's wrong?"
It was the dead of night, and Ukko had woken to Shuule groaning and gripping his knee. They had been curled up together under the covers, and Shuule had tried her best to be quiet when her abdomen started cramping, but she had woken Ukko up both on her own and because the mate bond was pulling at him. Set's snake head had moved over to nudge her side, as he too had woken up from the bond.
"I," Shuule breathed. "I think so. I just feel.... bad? Did I eat something wrong yesterday?"
"It's the chicks." Set had turned into his half beast, putting a cold hand on the flat of her stomach, which was distended. "Well, chick. You'll have an egg a day."
"I have to feel bad for days?!" Shuule growled, clutching her stomach over Set's hand. She looked at Ukko, but he looked dumbfounded, not sure of the answer.
