The Villain’s Repentance

Lara was at rock bottom, feeling like a puppet whose strings had been cut. When she stumbled upon her husband and best friend in a compromising embrace, everything fell into place. The heartbreak stung, but it also ignited a fierce determination within her. Instead of wallowing in despair, fate intervened, giving her a second chance at life—waking her up ten years earlier, just before the chaos began. Armed with wisdom, she promised herself not to repeat the same mistakes. As she stood at the top of the stairs, her gaze fell on Lucas, her once-beloved fiancée. Regret washed over her; she couldn't believe she had almost let him slip away. This time, things would be different.

Chapter 75 - Clearing the Misunderstanding

"Heh, you liars, you want to wash your crimes away. My sister was too kind, too calm, and too nice a person to become a spy." Mark argued, not willing to accept General Kay's words.

"Yes, I do have a reason to lie, but I am not lying," General Kay said, weighing the pros and cons of what he was about to say.

"The Organization is a very powerful one; they have been on the Military's raider for a very long time, but every time, they always escape." He sat down on the seat close to him and he was soon lost in his memories.

"Back then, I had been too strict and had stepped on the toes of one too many people, they had sent my profile to the Organization with a death warrant. They sent four assassins." He stopped closing his eyes for a brief second before continuing.

The hyped-up Mark was starting to calm down, and he, too, took a seat; the other two didn't want to stick out and took a seat, too.
