Silent kid [1]

Chapter: 5

[East forest road.]

A person in his 50s was driving a Van through the forest roads, the surroundings made his childhood memories renewed as he enjoyed the soothing scenery in front of him. The classical music playing on the radio made his journey interesting.

"La la la Lalala la ~" Enjoying his journey without getting bored he was murmuring the tunes and it was time when he saw a broken bridge in front of him. There were dents on the iron barricade of the bridge and the central region was nonexistent.

Getting off the Van he spoke, " What happened here? " He was surprised, seeing the collapsed bridge. There he saw some black spots and rubble beside the road. The one thing that came to his mind was," Accident? " He looked to his sides but didn't notice any vehicle or anyone. There was a burned mass of ashes in front of him and nothing else.

He walked close to the fallen bridge and looked down into the water from up there," It was definitely an accident. " There were some not-so-old marks on the road, on the barricade, and the bridge. And to where the person was? He may have fallen into the river and been swept away. Or there's a high chance that the ashes belong to that person, he was not concluding blindly. He saw something similar to bones in the ash and the ash was in large quantities. However, the ash was strange and he couldn't help but doubt it. He saw a recognizable headlamp with wires hanging on the iron rods extended on the collapsed bridge and confirmed it was a bike accident.

Now, what he should do in this situation was clear," Kriing~Kring~" he dialled the phone number and called the police. Emergency Calls do not require a network connection and it helped him here.

On the other side of the phone, "Beep~Beep~" The person's call reached the police and the officer picked up the call.

" Hello!" The police officer called out.

"Hello," the person replied.

" Yes," The police officer answered.

Confirming— his voice was clear, the person informed the police, "There was an accident on the east forest road and the bridge has collapsed."

" Are you injured? Are there any other people? !" The police questioned him.

"No sir, I'm not! And about others, I don't know, because there's no one here." The person answered.

To which the police officer raised his eyebrow, " What do you mean there's no one-..." at the same time something clicked in his mind, " don't tell me, there's a chance they fell into the river!" The police hurried. " Don't get closer to the scene, we're coming." The police officer commanded and cut the call.

On the other side, Many pairs of eyes were glaring at a moving being, from below the water—which was blood red. However, the eyes were able to catch a glimpse of the person above water, even though there were dead fishes in the eyesight.

The creature saw that the being was taking its steps back and leaving the place. However, It did not want to let go of its prey and wanted to catch the moving prey. And so the creature started to move from below the water.

There was movement in the blooded water, which visibly caught Omkar's attention. The movements turned uniform and started running in his direction. Omkar who was alerted by the sudden movements picked up his pace and ran opposite.

" crocodile!?" He didn't see anything but the movements were indicating—it was a crocodile.

While Omkar was busy making distance between himself and the river, another creature was staring at him with curiosity—Looking at the person running in front, it was interested in his activities. However, it soon saw another creature following the individual. This made the creature hiss at other creatures. How dare you follow my target?!

Looking back, Omkar stopped his steps and searched for the crocodile. He knew if a crocodile follows you then it won't follow for a long time.

Confirming, there was none, he sighed. But he didn't get a chance to rest as he heard some rattling sounds from the trees. His senses perked up as he jumped back and took his sloppy battle stance. However what he saw next made him raise his eyebrows.

" A kid? "

Examining from top to bottom, he saw a boy, half naked dressed in torn off pieces of clothes having dirt and white fungus all over it. The boy had albicant pale skin, his discheaved ashen hair, along with his cerulean eyes, which gathered a tired hint on his feminine—baby face.

"How did you get here? "Omkar asked, confused by the sudden entry of the kid out of nowhere. Yet, he didn't get his reply. The boy was dubiously silent. If one looked at him it was clearly visible that this boy was very different compared to a normal person. Omkar knew about Albinism[1], however he avoided asking about it.

The boy was about the height of Omkar's chest and had a very skinny body satire and an exhausted look on his face.

Not getting a reply from that boy Omkar stepped forward (towards him) , which made the boy to step backward in a shiver.

"..?.. " Omkar stopped his steps and looked into the boy's cerulean eyes, with an empathic expression painted on his face.

"I'm not going to harm you." Omkar bent down, getting in the boy's line of sight as he slowly stretched out his right hand towards the kid, asking him to calm down.

The kid looked at his hand gesture and stopped his reverse steps.

' good! ' Omkar sighed inwardly and slowly closed his distance to the fragile boy. And quite succeed.

" Are you fine? " Omkar gently asked.

The boy had question marks on his head. Omkar understood that the boy didn't get what he was saying and again asked, " Are you hurt anywhere? "

Again he didn't get any answer from the kid. Nodding his head Omkar decided to himself check the condition of the boy.

' Let's see if the boy follows me to safety . ' Omkar wanted to make sure they were safe before checking the boy, since they were close to a predator zone.
