Dysfunctional Defense

Outside the splendid halls of the cathedral Planchett sat down on the steps. Swathes of worshipers came and went into the Pristine archway that made up the building's entrance.

There were both young and old clergymen and women standing around maintaining the Facade of the building. Some were preaching to newcomers about their lord and savior Holios while others were watering plants and doing other miscellaneous tasks. The main foliage was sunflowers but there was a variety of fauna to be seen.

While she was sitting down on the steps she felt a hand touch her shoulder.

" Are you the one Archbishop Luci requested to see?"

Planchett turned around to see that a very bland and unassuming looking teen had spoken to her. He looked extremely basic and plain. He was the textbook copy of a noble's son. His black hair was slicked back and was the kind you would find attractive until you got to know him. There was also a cocky smile plastered onto his face. His brown eyes shimmered and he asked again.

" Are you-" he was cut off.

"Take me to him" Planchett got up from her seat. Her plum hair fluttered causing him to blush at her beauty but her dull silver eyes told him that she wanted nothing to do with him.

So he quietly turned around and walked into the building. Planchett looked at his clothes. They were the church's white robing but under them was clearly casual clothing. It seemed not everyone had the same respect for the church as everyone else did.

She looked around. She didn't have much of a visual frame of reference but even she could tell this building was huge. Almost as big as her castle. But the difference was that the main hall was open up to the ceiling which was a few 100 meters above them. And light shone down through the top creating a circle of light on the center flooring. The inside of the building even felt like everything was brighter. It was as if the building was one big reflective surface.

She was lead into a side room which had some stairs. The layout of this building was confusing at best and whoever crafted it made sure that if you went it it was difficult to make you way out. They took more than 6 twists and turns until they arrived in at the entrance of an room.

It was clean and tidy and nothing seemed to be out of place. The young man gestured for her to open the door and she did so. What she saw inside was a clear sign that she shouldn't have come.

There were 5 people in the room. 4 of which were doing their own thing and chaotically having an argument. At a desk was the same man who invited her into this mess. He was calmly doing paperwork and had yet to even look up and acknowledge her presence much less everything that was going around him.

Different items flew around the room. Wads of paper , pens , a mug with a question mark? Nobody wanted to acknowledge her presence in the room so she just stood there and took in everything that was happening at once.

Standing on a bookshelf was a tan young man wearing a plain t-shirt and torn brown trousers. His red hair matched his eyes and had yellow accents which looked like flames. He was screaming and throwing burning pieces of paper at a young girl in a black lace dress. She had short black hair and almond shaped eyes. Occasionally she would fall in and out her own shadow to evade the flameboy's attack but she spent most of her time lovingly staring at a young man, who out of all of them was actually doing something productive?

A dark skinned teenager sat on a couch tinkering with a box. His clothing was relatively stylish with it being a white and gold suit which accented his muscular yet streamlined figure. The hair on his head was both boxy and fluffy. If you grabbed it would feel like a sponge. His rough hands pulled a screwdriver from an owl shaped backpack. Inside the box gears turned and shifted but they would suddenly stutter or stop. His golden eyes seemed fixated on getting it to work. He jammed the screw into the small box and it suddenly transformed into an owl which took flight. His eyes lit up but then the birds wings soon jammed and it fell to the floor.

" No Icarus!" the bird transformed back into the box and as he reached down to pick it up a red leather heel came and stepped on the box. The boy looked up bad he gave a frightened look.

Stammering he asked. " Miranda may you please take your foot off my creation?"

The girl had blonde hair and wore a tight red dress which sparkled and glistened. He hands were covered in diamonds and jewelry and the only word you could describe her was as expensive. Her blue eyes looked down on him and stepped a little harder.

" My papa is the richest duke in the kingdom. I don't have to do a thing. Little trinkets like these are worthless anyway. A cheap piece of metal not worth my time."

" Step off Bitch. Get of Archimedes' pet " the girl in the black lace stood up and glared at her.

" You-" she was cut off by the clear sound of a stack of paper hitting the bin next to the desk.

" Ahhh. It feels so good to be done with paperwork. "

The blonde blue eyed Luci stretched his arms a bit before leaning back in his chair.

" Ok now back to business. " He looked up and noticed that Planchett and the young man had been standing in the door way for what seemed to be minutes.

" Ahhh Plan- Riya. Welcome to-" he finally got a glimpse of his room and the situation that was unfolding. Suddenly a loud crash was heard behind him. The boy who was ontop of the bookshelf was now under the bookshelf.

" You all have five minutes to clean my room or I burn you all to hell" as the sentence trailer on his voice became more distorted and violent.

Each of them like clockwork began cleaning. The boy named Archimedes pulled on Planchett's clothing and whispered to her.

" You should join Riya. The Archbishop hates when he sees people not doing their part."

Sure enough she looked up at him and his angry gaze was fixated on her and it seemed to be worsening by the second.

" Sigh"
