Little Girl

At 6:30pm, it was raining so heavily.

Maeve decided to take that opportunity to have a shower, a hot shower at that since she has nothing to do. She decided to soak herself in the bathtub filled with foamy warm water and started thinking of how her life has changed since her mom got married to her stepdad, the luxurious house, the food that is always there for her in the fridge, her new phone and so on. Gosh she loved it. Then she thought about her old friends in her formal high-school. Will she meet new friends that is suitable for her? She sighed.

When Maeve was busy gathering her thoughts, she heard something, something like a sound of the door knop opening. 'shit I didn't lock the door' she thought.

With that, she started hearing sounds of footsteps. it was getting closer and closer to her bathroom. The bathroom door flew open and it was... her mom?

"Mom, you could at least knock"

"sorry"

Maeve squinted her eyes a little, scanning her mother's outfit.

As if Kathy red her mind, she said "Your father and I are going out right now and we'll be back shortly"

'Well, she's free to go even if she didn't tell me. At least everything is enough for me in this house' Maeve thought.

Maeve replied with a shrug "okay"

With that, her mom left.

"now where was I?"

Maeve drowned herself into the foamy warm water, not only did she drown herself in the water but also in her thoughts. She thought about how she's going to make good grades just like she did when she still living with her mom. That she'll be the best student ever known in this new high-school she's going to attend.

When Maeve was done with shower, she dried herself with her towel. After that, she decided to put on some blue pyjamas since blue is her favourite colour.

When she was putting on her blue pyjamas, she started hearing murmurs from a bunch of people but she doesn't know where the noise was coming from.

'what is it now?' she thought while loosing her hair, leaving it to fall all the way to the base of her spine.

She was about heading for her bed when she started hearing music. "wtf"

Maeve opened the door to her room and made her way downstairs only to see a bunch of teenagers enjoying themselves in the spacious living room. All of them were too busy to notice her presence because some of them were dancing, some where making out on the couch while others where drinking.

"Gosh" Maeve thought of what to do.

Suddenly, the music stops playing and Everyone's gaze flew to Maeve because she's the one that turned off the music. There was adequate silence in the building. "who in the world would wear a pyjamas to a party" a girl said and everyone laughed. That was the moment when Maeve realised that she was even wearing a pyjamas to interrupt them.

"Hey girl! no kids allowed" another girl said. Everyone laughed... again.

"who the hell is this girl"

"where did she come from?"

"must be one of Gray's bitch"

There was whispers going on in the living room.

'what's so funny about this?' Maeve thought.

"Hey little girl, turn on that music or I'll turn you on" a random guy yelled. Everyone was like "Ooooh"

Maeve felt embarrassed because of what she has gotten herself into. "oh yeah?" she begins to think of a comeback to give to the guy. "why don't you use that pencil thing in your pants to turn your girlfriend on"

"excuse me?" Maeve heard a girl's voice. With that, the crowd started isolating themselves form where they were standing, making an 'O' space in the middle.

The random girl made her way to the middle of the crowd where Maeve was standing.

"what did you just say to him?" The girl asked, her voice as cold as ice.

"To who?" Maeve asked, pretending as if she said nothing at all and on the other hand looking for what she will use to attack her incase if the girl tries to fight her. Because looking at the girl's face, she chose violence.

"don't you dare pretend like nothing happened!" she yelled at Maeve. With that, the girl grabbed Maeve's collar, ready to attack but Maeve has already yanked a glass of wine from a random guy and pours it on the girl's face, pushing her to the floor while she run away from her and made her way to her room. Her heart was beating rapidly then she decided to wash her face in her bathroom. She opened the door of her bathroom and... "oh my gosh!"

Maeve stared at the strange guy, the tattoos on his left arm, his earrings and his... hair 'omg, this guy must lack home training' she thought.

"who are you and what are you doing in my bathroom with this... thing"

The girl who was making out with Gray shot Maeve a death glare before leaving her room.

"First of all, I don't give a damn who you are and second of all, I don't know what you're doing in my house" Gray said.

Maeve made a sarcastic laugh.

"Excuse you? This is my house and I don't know how these teenagers were invited"

"I invited them" He shrugged

"In my house? How is that even possible?"

"because this is my house!"

"you need to leave cause I'm going to call Mr Everret right now!" she warned

"Oh you mean my dad?"

"Excuse me?"

"Oops! I just remembered. My dad got married to your mom. Names Grayson Everret. Not nice to meet you"

All his words were full of sarcasm.

Maeve was left speechless. She never knew that her stepdad had a son.

"Look, little girl if you don't stay away from me, this house will never be big enough for the both of us"

Gray warned and left immediately.

"why does everyone have to call me little girl?"

Maeve growled.
