Illfang the Kobold Lord

The first few weeks pass and people were beginning to gather in Tolbana to push through the first floor to enter the second one. Nesiara and John were sitting between the people as they were wearing hoods not showing their faces drawing only some attention but many people just ignored them.

John was listening to what the blue-haired man was saying when Nesiara pulls on his shirt and says, "It seems that Kirito is over there."

"Really," says John as he follows the way Nesiara was pointing to and continues, "You are right. It seems he didn't die for now."

"Now come on don't jinx him," says Nesiara as both stood up and walked towards him. They weren't really listening to what the bluehead was saying when Nesiara says, "Long time not seen Kirito."

"Who are you?" asks Kirito as the hood was blocking the view for Kirito to see their faces.

"Now how could you forgot us. There are only one Beauty and one Beast in the world," says Nesiara with a smile while John wasn't really happy that the nickname was sticking onto him.

"Nesiara and John," says Kirito not believing it was them.

"The ones and only people. How did you fare alone?" asks Nesiara as John and Nesiara sat down beside him. John was back to listening while Nesiara was questioning Kirito.

"I did well leveling here and there. The only problem was that one region just didn't have mobs to fight against as if they didn't exist," says Kirito as Nesiara began to laugh.

"It must have been us. We have been staying in one place the whole time farming money. We knew you were nearby but respected your privacy," says Nesiara as she smiled and suddenly someone began to shout something about beta tester being bastards when Nesiara says, "Should I deal with him."

"You better not we have other things to worry about," says John as he was listening to everything and the bluehead took care of the spiky head while he continues, "We will need to find three more people to join us in a party since we two can't enter one we need to find a person for Kirito."

"How about the girl over there," says Nesiara as she pointed at a hooded person sitting alone.

"How do you know that this person is a girl?" asks Kirito confused.

"The way she is sitting says everything. I came after all from an Aristocratic Family. She must also be a girl from high standing," says Nesiara as Kirito looked even more confused since he almost doesn't know anything about the two as Nesiara says, "If you aren't going to ask I will do it for you."

Nesiara was about to stand up when Kirito stopped her and went himself to ask the person to join their group. Kirito was having a problem talking with the girl as Nesiara says, "Do you think she will join us this way?"

"Maybe, we can't force her to join us but it seems she is also without a group of friends like Kirito. So either she joins us or leaves," says John as he witnessed some people leave because they are afraid of dying and were only there to hear what was being talked about.

"I think she might have more skill than Kirito using her sword," says Nesiara when John coughs in protest and she asks, "What's wrong?"

"It's a rapier, not a sword. It's not good enough for wild swings since its quite short even if hers looks different don't forget we are still in a game and most of the moved they use is generated by the system and not by themselves. It can bring great harm to a real swordsman if he had to play this game as he had to adjust to the system making him weaker on the long run since he will start relying on the system to help him fight," says John explaining to Nesiara the disadvantages a swordsman would have while being here.

"You really know how to take the fun out of everything," says Nesiara as John only looked at her when she says, "It seems Kirito and the girl made a party."

"Good, us four should be enough," says John as he was ready to leave but was waiting for the bluehead to dissolve the assembly.

The bluehead did so and said that they will meet tomorrow morning as Nesiara walked over to Kirito and the girl and says, "Both of you don't run away let's go eat something good its on our heads."

"Friends of yours?" asks the girl with the hood.

"Something like that," says Kirito when the girl then just walks away into the city.

"How about you wanna join us?" asks Nesiara as Kirito didn't know how to answer that question.

John suddenly took some food out and began to eat making everyone that didn't leave felt jealous of him not eating stone-hard bread but meat with potatoes.

"You should decide fast once John begins he won't stop until he is full," says Nesiara as Kirito as well as the others began to see how fast John was gulping down the food as if he had a black hole instead of a stomach.

"I think I will pass for now," says Kirito as he leaves.

"He really is shy," says Nesiara with a smile as he leaves and John finished his food.

"We should leave too. I need to buy some potions for us as well as some other things," says John as he stands up and walked back into the city as Nesiara followed him.

They began to prepare for what could possibly happen since they didn't have their powers. If something unexpected happened they must be ready to handle it.

It was turning dark and in the town of Tolbana people were like drinking and celebrating when John says, "They shouldn't celebrate before a battle as if it was already won. This will just jinx us all."

"Leave them be if it helps to raise the morale," says Nesiara as she saw all of them as novices fighters who never stepped into a real battlefield as they did.

"It seems our two party members are eating together," says John as he saw the hooded girl and Kirito sitting together eating bread with some cream on it while they were having a conversation.

"Let's leave them alone for now," says Nesiara as she was reading the mood while John wanted to put in but got stopped by Nesiara's spear as she says, "Didn't you listen we can talk tomorrow about strategies to fight."

"Fine," says John as he didn't want to fight Nesiara and backs off walking towards the nearest inn. Nesiara follows as they take two rooms and sleep for the night.

The next day they marched through the Forest Field as a little army. Kirito was talking to the hooded girl about a switch when John says, "It's a good strategy but not the most effective one. What if you get surrounded or get pincered a switch wouldn't help you at that moment."

"Don't be too hard on them. They are just rookies," says Nesiara as the hooded girl looked at them and Nesiara says, "We still weren't presented to each other. My name is Nesiara and this big fella is John. Nice to meet you."

"My name is Asuna. Nice to meet you too," says Asuna as she gave a slight bow out of custom.

"I knew you come from a high family. A normal family wouldn't do that," says Nesiara as the girl tried to hide her face even more now.

"I don't know what you are talking about," says Asuna as she passed them.

There was relatively no talk between them all until they fought their way through the tower arriving in front of the Boss chamber and John says, "So that's how you progress to the next floor. I thought we just needed to kill the strongest monster outside."

"Didn't you listen when I explained it to you the first time?" asks Kirito as John looked at him confused.

"You said that we needed to kill the strongest monster to proceed with the climbing. But the monster inside this chamber isn't as strong as the monster I and John fought outside the tower," says Nesiara as Kirito looked at them in disbelief.

"They build a hidden boss that could rival on every floor to prepare players fighting the real boss," says the bluehead as he was listening to the conversation the four were having.

"Thanks for informing us," says Nesiara as she was suspicious of the bluehead.

"We should continue," says the bluehead as he gave a little speech in front of the chamber to everyone before entering the boss chamber.

They enter and the room was quite dark until suddenly the whole room began to shine and the boss jumped from his throne towards his enemies and he summoned mobs to help him then they together rushed at the group.

The bluehead gave the order to attack as the whole group entered the battlefield when Asuna sees that neither John not Nesiara had a sword in their hands as they rushed at the enemy and Kirito says, "Don't worry about them."

The fight went on for a while Nesiara and John took care of the two mobs easily while Kirito and Asuna dealt with the one remaining in the meantime the vanguard was dealing with the Boss.

Everything went well until the boss dropped his shield and weapon and took out the one it was carrying on his back. The bluehead ran forwards to kill it when Kirito saw the difference in the weapon and says, "Wait stop. It's no good, get out of there."

But it was too late as the boss suddenly became more mobile and almost seemed to fly over the battlefield. The bluehead was shocked as he saw himself as a goner when suddenly a spear was between the weapon of the boss and himself.

He looked up to see a woman in a red and gold full armor as she says, "Can you take care of him."

Then a man in blue armor holding a katana swung his sword as he not only cut through the weapon but also the boss splitting both in two. Suddenly gold began to rain down and the woman says, "No, my money."

Asuna heard their voice and recognizes that it was Nesiara and John. John suddenly had a black coat in his hand and throws it to Kirito saying, "Here take it. I don't need it."

Suddenly an announcement was seen to everyone that said the first boss was cleared by Error as John and Nesiara were indeed errors for this game as John then looks at the bluehead and says, "Greed almost killed you. Be happy we were around or you would have died today."

They then walk towards the entrance of the next floor as John pushed the door open announcing again that the way was cleared to enter the second floor.

Then suddenly the spike head began to call them names when John turned to them and his eyes said everything 'Continue and you will die like the mob I just killed.'

Many couldn't believe that a person could have such eyes and stopped talking completely as he wanted to continue on his journey when a big man approached him and says, "Thank you for saving us."

"Don't worry we are all here to beat the game after all," says Nesiara as she presents both and the man presents himself as Agil. Then the other two joined and Asuna, as well as Agil, wanted to be friends with them while Kirito knew it wasn't possible when Nesiara says, "Sure but we have to go somewhere more private to do so."

As John just ignored what Nesiara said while entering the next floor as the other four crossed and Nesiara made them have the level one authority on Justice so they could talk with each other while all three were more in disbelief of their own existence after Nesiara explained to them from where they are from.
