Suspecting a foul play...

"This is your stop Mr. Philip and Ms. Catherine, the president's personal guard will meet the two of you at the entrance."

Philip caught sight of a man in a blue overall tight exiting the building. He looked to be in his early thirties. At a distance his eyes looked lifeless __ like two gray stones.

"Is that him?" Philip asked.

The pilot looked up. "Well, maybe." He turned and gave Philip an ominous smile. "Speak of the devil."

Uncertain what to expect, Philip stepped down from the vehicle. Catherine followed suit. The man walked towards Philip and Catherine, then offered a clammy hand.

Catherine accepted it at once. "I am Catherine Wilson from the SOSN (SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATION OF THE SOCIETY OF NIGERIA.)  I am a new Theo physicist.." She pointed to Philip. "He is Philip Godsent a scientific purist from science department. He works for the minister of science. We are here to see the president of the United States of America."

The guard was silent for a while. "Follow me."

Philip and Catherine followed through a mechanical door into Washington's main lobby. The room had a sense of grandeur. There were white tilted walls. Some guards stood at checkpoints probably waiting to demand important things from people.

The air smelled clean, sterile. A handful of professionals moved about.

"Mr. Philip and Ms.h Catherine, this way please," the guard's voice sounded more computerized. His accent was rigid and precise, just like the Britain's. Philip and Catherine followed past what seemed to be countless hallways branching off the main atrium. Some guards approached them.

"We will take it from here, Mr. George," one of the guards said.

"That wasn't the president's instruct...."

"I am Robin Schultz, I will take it from here." Mr. George was quickly interrupted.

"Okay," Mr. George said, stepping backwards.

"Follow us please," one of the guards said to Philip and Catherine, then began to move.

"To where?" Catherine asked in suspicion.

"To see the president, of course," Robin, one of the guards said as they walked.

"Mr. Joe is a very nice and friendly person. He is very understandable. You guys must be in a haste to meet him.

"Of course. Who wouldn't?"

"This way please," Robin said, entering into another hallway. "Nigeria deserves a better president, right?"

"And they have got it. President Buhari is a good president," Catherine said.

"I doubt," Philip argued.

"Can't you see Mr. Buhari is doing a great job?" Catherine asked.

"I see," Philip said, not seeing at all.

"I wouldn't argue. Every president does a great job."

"You guys shouldn't have come," Robin began. There's a saying that two heads are better than one but I doubt."

"Why not set the record straight?" Philip said.

Robin shrugged. "The two of you can't  beat the Illuminati. The church couldn't, so how can you?"

Philip's look was questioning. "Illuminati?" It never came to his mind that he was fighting against the Illuminati. I am here to help and not to fight some bloody people, Philip told himself.

"You sound skeptical," Robin said.

"Didn't you know that you were coming to the U.S.A to fight?"

"I am undecided on that," Philip said, surprisingly no.

"Then the president must be playing do bloody games with your minds.

"My mind?" Philip was suddenly uncomfortable. "Not to disappoint you sir but I know the president, he wouldn't play such deadly games with us."

Robin slowed suddenly and turned, his gaze hardening. "Of course. How simple to think."

Philip blinked.

As they moved down the hallway, Robin gave an accepting nod. " The president is indirectly selling the two of you out." Somehow Philip doubted it.

"I suspect a foul scheme here. You are supposed to be taking us to your president and not to be suspending us with some freaking conclusions.

"That door leads to the president's office," Robin said, hatching a smile at once.

As they approached the door, Philip felt strangely frightened. They reached the door and stopped.

Robin opened it. "You two can go in. The president will meet you people soon."

Catherine felt as though he was lying.  "You should have led the way."

"No, ladies first and besides we have received strict instructions from the president. Go ahead, you should be waiting for the president and not the other way around."

"Next time you want to talk about my president, Mr. Buhari, make sure to choose the right words to use. I hate it when someone uses bad words against him. I am just letting this go but believe me, a part of me wants to put you in your place," Catherine said warmly. "My president is a good man and so is Mr. Joe Biden, if you will excuse me." Catherine moved from him.
