Rake! A man habituated to immoral conduct, particularly womanizing.
In society, women were often bound by chains of relationships that suppressed them.
These chains ensured they served the role of tender and civilizing forces, becoming examples of eternal commitment and loyalty.
This didn't mean women didn't have their own desires. They too harbored dark fantasies in which they were free and pleasured.
Fantasies which normal men could not satisfy, as they were bound by the moral convictions of the world, or were simply incapable due to their own innate weaknesses.
