Ashfall and Apail

Inside the pavilion was a man and a woman. Sej thought that robes must be something important because even this man was wearing a copper robe. The woman on the other hand was wearing a summer dress with flowers. She was average sized and looked to be in her 20s. The man was middle aged and seemed to be annoyed at the woman for some reason. The woman approached Sej and stated, "Kid before the test of destiny, you have to make a choice." The man grunted and said, "Currently you have earned the right to join the ashfall sect, but you have also earned the right to join the Apail family, but you will have to work 5 years in Ashfall sect first." Sej was confused he did not understand what was going on but before he could collect himself the woman continued in a sweet voice "Child, you don't need to worry so much about this and that, you just need to know that if you choose to join the Apail Family, not only will you receive the designated resources from the Ashfall sect, but you will also gain resources and perks from the Apail family as well. The results of your test mean that during your early cultivation, you will be slower than most of your peers as your essence absorption speed is not that great. Sej was gaining his bearings and realized that this woman seemed to be bribing him to join her. He was cautious but also tempted. Your cultivation time will be affected, and you may progress slower." A smirk appeared on his face. Sej was known in deep thought. He could not decide and was lost but before he could think it through, he heard the two people arguing. "why make life difficult for the kid, shame on you Ashfall sect." A sneer appeared on the man as he replied "oh and you Apail Family is so great, gaining free disciple from all our hard work"

"yeah yeah, mock us as you want, but whose land are you standing on, this is our designated space so who is stealing who's talent."

"ha-ha, talent, I heard we picked up a person with yang constitution in sector B. That must have pissed your Apail off."

Sej had already stopped listening, he was thinking about how Earth was the Apail's family territory. Though Sej had no attachments to Earth, I was the place he was born, the place his parents were born, and it was where they were buried. He did not want to lose the right to return here in the future. Plus, even if he had to do more tasks, he did not care as he would gain more. It seemed fair to him. After composing himself and mustering up his courage, he spoke with a shaky voice interrupting the two's argument "I would like to join the Apail family." Both stopped what they were saying and turned to look at Sej. The copper robed man stared and asked, "Are you sure" only to instantly hear a scoff next to him followed by "who you trying to intimidate" he belongs to us now.
