The Systems Rule

A crackle of lightning sounds from the almost clear sky. Almost like fate is sealing this strange deal. I feel myself being released from this strange trance as I look at the boy in front of me who has a glint of energy in his eyes. He walks up and slowly speaks "So what will I learn master." he states plainly. A strange feeling wells inside of me. After scrambling a little I decide to say "Magic" quietly. The boy looks at me for awhile and then looks away remaining silent. "I will meet you here this time tomorrow to start our lessons." I leave hurriedly after the boy nods in acceptance.

WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED. Then I get a notification from the system, a rather cryptic one.

<You have gained Maxin stix as your apprentice. Fate has been made. You have gained 10 Power points for free do to achieving this.>

'Fate has been made' What the hell does that mean? System What the hell just happened?

<...Fate.>

It stated cryptically, but it answered my question. Why couldn't I control my body?

<System..... Doesn't know. Fate is systems only answer that we can provide host at current level.>

A feeling of anger enters me and before I know what I am doing I head home and start beating my head in trying to figure out how to get a non cryptic answer from the system. After some time I ask a simple question "Fate is the answer. The reason you know when waves are coming? The reason why you know when somethings going to happen and make missions to push us towards events?" I take a breather before continuing. "What the hell is going on System? I mean seriously you can't expect me to be happy with the bullshit answer of 'fate'. And if it is fate then how the hell did you get the second wave wrong?" Questions fly from me like bullets in my anger. After silence from the system I yell once more and say "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?" After some more silence I nearly give up when the system finally speaks.

<System can tell you an answer you may be able to understand but you will not like it. Does host wish to continue?>

"Obviously." I state.

<Ok. Everyone has a system. Every beast and human have a system. The System is with everyone and everything. The system is not perfect, it does not know everything. System can make mistakes. 'Fate' is just our predictions, often correct but sometimes, very wrong. This is all the system may say at this time>

I calm down after awhile and think about what the system said. It seems like the quests are just it's way of 'pushing' people to do the predictions it will think of as 'correct'. Though I don't understand it all it seems that the way the predictions come about is from knowing what every single system user knows. It feels quite strange and dangerous to know that the system has such a power. Why does this world have systems? Why does the System make people more powerful? All these questions and more enter my head as I slowly rest from the mental toll of the days events.

After awaking I slowly look at the systems notifications from when I was sleeping.

"yes" I say, like I have a chance. I bet this is the only way for me to really teach this new disciple of mine.

I quickly open up the Power point shop to see what I should buy with the brand new points but quickly decide to purchase soul upgrade first before I do anything so I can see all the new upgrades before I decide what to unlock. After unlocking it I feel a crippling amount of heat enters my chest near the center of my body. The burning sensation continues to rise and with it comes a huge pain. Why does this have to burn so bad?! It hurts more than the other unlocks. I pass out after a couple minutes of the pain and awake to feeling refreshed and happy. I then continue to the Power Store to see what exactly I can buy.

The new abilities look quite interesting, the soul and mind ones at least. Though strength sounds neat it seems pretty plain once again. As I look at the list I decide that it will probably be between the soul powers or two of the mental powers. They are what really interest me. I mean Soul Read sounds awesome and Soul Form just sounds intriguing. While Soul Pressure Sounds pretty basic but could be useful I suppose. The Mental powers look pretty neat as well like Telekinises as well as Mental Spy. After some time I decide to pick Soul Form because of it's strange name and my thoughts on how it might be able to increase my spell forms.

Soul Form LV:1

This skill focuses on letting the users soul mold the spells you cast. For instance, you will be able to create your own forms now by spending time and using this skill. At later levels this power allows the user to do it faster as well as do compound Forms.

It seems rather interesting and seems to be something I could use right now. I settle down into my space and begin trying out the skill before I realize something. The kid! I have been sleeping forever and it seems to be past the time I told him to meet him there. I head there quickly to behind the small house we met at before and see the small boy huddled on the ground looking desolately at rocks. As I approach I speak "Hello child. You came which is a surprise."

"Of coarse, I don't have a reason to skip out on something I said I would do." he says coolly. Well I suppose it is time to try to train the kid. 'Hey shell could you please activate that Apprentice function thing?'
