Fight of The Divine?

The owl immediatly begins to shine with a white glow as he zooms forward targeting the man who proclaimed to be my prophet. So we are not even really fighting eachother? We are instead killing eachothers Prophets? Well that's stupid.

I quickly activate lightning boost but as I zoom forward the owl moves upward, seemingly surprised by my intense speed. With the extra time I cast wind Boost and Water Boost. After I am finished I am alerted that I have activated Storm Boost. I quickly fly after the Owl who is soaring higher into the sky. He seems utterly stupified by my intense flying speed, let alone the fact that I can fly at all.

The prophets on the ground act as if nothing is wrong as they warily approach eachother, waving there weapons threateningly. I suppose I could take this time to kill the own if I can, but I really want to know what the heck is going on. I cast a lightning bolt at the owl to stop him from soaring away and as it lands his white aura shudders almost. The aura almost becomes unstable as he starts slowing down giving me an oppurtunity to strike him. I bite into his body and I feel the soft crunch under my mouth as I dig into him. He lets out a vicious screech as he shouts "WHAT ARE YOU DOING SERPENT?!?!?! THIS IS AGAINST THE RULES OF THE DUEL!!!" I continue digging into him without a care.

I know this might become dangerous if I am not careful so I need to at least make it to where this owl can't fight. The owl then screeches after seeing I havn't changed anything "FINE, IF IT IS A DUEL OF DEATH YOU WANT, A DUEL OF DEATH YOU WILL GET". The mark on his forehead starts glowing and a strange aura surrounds him. It feels almost as if the creature I have bitten is ultra light yet ultra sturdy. The feeling is strange to say the least. The Owl then Screeches and this time the Screech seems to have a purpose of some sort. The air waves surrounding him seem to shiver, vibrate almost, as they seem to move in accordance to this strange screech.

It was then that something strange happened. The air seemed to condense almost. The air condensed with the light from the sky and seemed to form plates of armor and the such. A few long spears begin to materialize as well, a feeling of fear digging into my mind alerting me that this will not be such an easy fight as I thought it would be. I quickly begin to create a couple dozen normal mana spikes that I hope to be used to attack the bird before he can arm up. The spikes dig into his skin as the system gives me a notification that I brush off. I clamp on more fevorishly, digging more and more into his skin.

The creature screeches more fervirishly after I quicken my efforts. I seem to have been lucky as the large owl seems to be falling. I must have caught a lucky blow with one of my spikes disabling his wings. It was then that the armor of his was ready. They clamp down onto his skin almost as if it was a second layer of skin. A piece starts to dig into my skin trying to cover the weak bodied owl, after some resistance I know that this spell won't stop until the armor gets to the skin of this owl, i release my grip as I start flapping my wings flying once more. While the armor latches on his body I glance down to the two 'prophets' fighting.

My prophet seems to be in a weak position, struggling against the magical powers of the other man. Though they seem pretty even right now, if this were to continue my so called prophet would be dead. Another dead man on my conciousness is not something I need to deal with right now.

After the armor finishes getting placed the two spears pierce forward with lightning speed trying to strike me. The first spear narrowly misses me, while the second nicks my skin. "You are very lucky for my spears to have missed you. I assure you it won't happen again." the owl says cockily. I think it is about time that this owl gets put down. I quickly start something I hadn't done before. I started combining my elements in a different way then I had done before. I suppose what I was creating can only be named as a Storm Spike. This jet black spike shivered with almost uncontrolable energy as it rips from my control zipping towards the owl.

"WHAT MAGIC IS THIS?!?!" The owl screams as the two spears zip in front of him trying to soften the blow of the Spike. The spike seems to make the very sky darken slightly, it moves forward with deadly precision as it destroys the spears easily. The spike moves forward and easily pierces through the armour as it seemingly passes through the owl. A black hole going straight through the owls body is all the spike leaves as it continues at lightning speed edventually striking into the ground only stopping after it goes a few meters in to the ground.

The light around the surrounding area dims as the creature loses all light in his eyes. The strange glow on his head seems to dim as a spectral star light energy seems to flowly float towards me in mid air. Everything seems to darken around me, a void seems to become the surrounding area as me and the starlight is the only thing left in place. The starlight spreads around me, making a vast sky of briliant lights in the eternal void. Some of the stars slowly collect forming the figure of a massive man. "you.... are..... like.... me...." he says in a strange raspy voice. "From.... Stars" he says as he slowly disperses through the sky as the energy seems to rapidly be absorbed by my body for some reason.

What the heck is exactly going on? Then the system notifies me something that makes my head hurt.

<Star magic has been absorbed, star mark has been activated. Please look for it under the system powers>

WHATS STAR MAGIC? WHATS A STAR MARK? WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO BE SO CONFUSING?!?!?! So many questions but not one answer. The void leaves my view as I see the carcass of the bird has seemingly disapeared. I look down and see that the man that was holding the staff seems to be now powerless, as he seemingly begs for mercy from my prophet. I quickly decend and as soon as I reach my prophet I order in the most domineering voice I can make "Do not kill him. Enough lives have been taken". The man looks at me and kneels after putting his blades down.

After the man kneels I take a deep breath and release a loud sigh. That was a tough fight, one way or another I am exhausted. I look around me and feel at lost. What is going on, all I really want is answers. The man in the robe runs quickly away after bowing towards me twice. I look at my prophit and and ask loudly "What is your name?". he hurridly replies "My name is Skylar great lord".

Well atleast I am getting somewhere. "Do you mind answering some simple questions Skylar?" I ask politely. "Your will is my command great Snake of the Forest" he replies happily. "What exactly just happened?" I ask trying to mask my anxiety.

He takes a deep breath before replying "A divine duel my lord. Between Divine Beasts." I look at him for a second before saying "... So what exactly are Divine Beasts Skylar?". "You test your prophet once more my lord. I shall pass this time." Skylar replies happily. "Divine Beasts are beasts born with divine magic. Your mark on your head proves that you are a Divine Beast."

Well at least I have an excuse to ask this kid more questions. "And what exactly is Divine Magic? What sets us different from you or other beasts?" Tyler ponders for awhile before answering "Divine magic is very powerful. Coming from the stars. There are humans who can use it, but those who can are very powerful and known as gods. I don't know much about the nature of Divine Magic but I am certain that it holds strange powers that have not been seen on the continent of Yrin before."

Well I suppose this awnsers some of my most basic questions. I doubt I could get much more information from him though. He seems to be struggling with information on my 'kind' I suppose. The mans voice seemed to fill my head as they repeated themselves over and over again. "Lord Snake of the Forest of Vyin, when shall the people of this village and I gain your blessings sir?" he asks almost nervously.

"Blessings?" I ask bewildered at the young man.

I hope you all enjoy this chapter. Alex is going to suffer with quite a few unanswered questions for awhile. I hope you all have a great day. Thanks for giving my book a read. One more chapter will be posted today.
