WAS THIS THE CENTURY'S GREATEST JOKE?

Sound of barks echoed in the warehouse, where the two men lay unconscious. The five men who had brought them there, went out and locked the door.

They went in the adjacent room, where a screen was fitted to the wall which showed the live footage of the warehouse.

It was their boss's base in Viroflay and the five of them were assigned for this area. They were trained mercenaries and had capability of Red card holder.

There were a total of six cards, which represented different strengths among the mercenary groups. The Black card consisted of the most powerful and highly trained mercenaries. Then the remaining five card ranked below the Black card. They comprised of Golden card, Silver card, Red card, Yellow card and Green card.

The mercenaries strength varied with those different cards. Currently the five men were ranked fourth, who were Red card holder.

The five sat on the chairs and kept looking at the footage of the two men.

One of them spoke, "When would boss be coming?"

The leader of the five answered, "He is on the way and will reach in ten minutes."

The one beside the leader spoke this time, "What is going on with the boss nowadays? He is hell bent on killing the ones who seem to be obstacle in his path. Paul from the third division said that they had killed four men and a woman this month and boss was the one who had asked them to spread the news that he was the killer. I don't understand why he needs to do this? Why did he resort to such a technique? He could have just done a clean kill."

The fourth man spoke, "Maybe he wanted to arouse fear within people, so that they would not come in between his way."

The leader surveyed the men, who he thought were a bunch of fools, "Why do you like to gather half news? You should have at least studied something. Don't go on talking recklessly in the future. Do you even know who those men and that woman belonged to?"

The one who silent the whole time spoke, "They were the bosses of the sub-branches of 'Rasmon Enterprises', owned by the heir of Tessier family. Our boss has some old grudges to settle with him. He is considered his sworn enemy from the business world. I know I shouldn't speak this, but boss hasn't been able to overtake him even after competing for five years."

The others who weren't aware of this, had a look of disbelief on their faces.Their boss wasn't able to surpass him? Was this the century's greatest joke?

Who was their boss? He was a man whom people feared. Nobody dared to even speak his name. And here he wasn't able to win a young chap even after competing with him for five long years!

One of the three men, who were left dumbfounded by this discovery spoke, "How do you know? And how is this even possible? You gotta be kidding dude! Boss literally lost to him? He admitted defeat? But as long I know, boss hates failure, then how did he survive this long?"

The leader spoke coldly, "Stop spouting nonsense. First of all we keep updates on whatever happens and are not like you who have nothing to do but to go to brothels and enjoy yourself day and night. Secondly, who said that boss lost to that man? It was just that the man got lucky everytime boss planned something against him."
