The identification cards

I made a space between the boxes and hid them behind them. I was simply sitting there and thinking about what this place is. Suddenly, I heard noises. The noises were too loud. “I did not see anyone here,” the man said. I did not hear the reply. But I heard footsteps. It seems like someone is coming towards me. My heart started beating too fast, like it would explode in any second. I closed my eyes tightly, thinking about what would happen if I caught what they would do to me.

Then, for a minute, I did not hear any footfall. Because the torch light was off, I assumed that the visitor had left. I heard a voice again a minute later.

"What are you doing here in the darkness?” the man asked. Suddenly, the torchlight came on. The man yelled, "I was trying to see in the darkness if someone moved after the torch light was off or not."
