Chapter 3

"As for you" The woman looks at me like she looks at an exotic pet, all the others were gone, they blinked out of existence.

"You're not supposed to be here, there are only four horsemen. It must be a coincidence... Anyway, I need you away from this reality for a couple hundred of years. But, you fought a bravely in a no doubt long and hard battle, so if I don't reward you, I'll be breaking the rules.

How about this? I'll send you to a new world that has been recently calibrated, you'll get a new body while still keeping your memories, and you'll have a connection to the system through a personal assistant and 1000 system points. That seems fair, doesn't it? Yea, that should do it, let's hope we never meet again" the woman said, her golden eyes shine brightly for a moment, and then everything went black.

(Narrator POV)

"Hmm, what were they up against anyway?"The women asked, usually, suitable candidates were pitted against creatures matching the standard combat levels of their species.

"What?!?!?!?!" the women screamed in shock, learning that from 100 people, only five won against the goblins, monsters belonging to the lowest levels possible of all the monsters she had in the database.

(Seven and a half years later, in a stylish looking apartment)

"Arthur, what are you doing?" A beautiful woman asked she was a mature beauty with smooth skin, long wavy hair, and professional looking black-rimmed glasses that protected beautiful eyes. Her black business suit seemed to further emphasize her fairly curvy figure and professional looks.

The beauty was my aunt, or rather, my new aunt.

After meeting that golden eyes goddess woman, I was reborn into this world, and although the first few years of my life are hazy, like trying to remember what you did when you were drunk, the rest is fairly normal.

The system that the woman mentioned is very, very useful, especially in this world. The system has everything, really everything, from legendary magical weapons, to awesome superpowers, to advanced technology. As long as I have enough points, I can get everything I want, I could become the strongest person in the world.

However, the last one could take some time to achieve, considering the state of this world:

In this world, superheroes and supervillains are always clashing against each other, monsters can pretty much pop out of nowhere and begin causing havoc through randomly spawned monster gates, summoned demons, angels, gods, and devils. In fact, it seems way too easy to die in this world.

The strongest person in this world, a superhero named Titan, is a man with near invulnerability and titanic strength. Of course, he trained a lot for his powers to reach that degree, but I saw his feats a few times on TV, and it gets more and more absurd every time a see him.

A building fell on him: not a scratch.

Shot in the eyeball; didn't even blink.

Shot with a tank shell in the face: he shell flattened against him and he didn't even move.

A fucking meteor fell on him: he fucking caught it!

That man is the reason I don't watch TV anymore, well, while none of the other heroes are this powerful, some are pretty powerful.

"Arthur?" my aunt calls out to me again.

"Oh, sorry, I was just daydreaming, what do you need aunty?" I ask with a smile.

"What are you doing like that anyway?" she asks, I was surely lying on the couch, my legs upward against the wall, and my head dangling to the ground.

"I was just passing time. By the way, big sister Helen is not coming tomorrow, can I go with you to work?" I ask.

My aunt is the principle of the Republic's one and only Hero Academy, the academy that has produced many generations of talented superhumans. Having a full government funding from the world's richest and strongest country, the academy has some of the most advanced technology and the rarest materials, many of its teachers are heads of their respective fields. It has one of the world's biggest libraries, and students come to study here from all over the country.

I wouldn't miss going there for the world.

"Oh... Sure, just promise to behave, okay?" she said as she removed her high heeled shoes. Aunt Veronica hates bringing me to work. In the academy, she puts on the cold facade of a ruthless businesswoman, but when I'm there, she acts like her usual kind self, which breaks character.

"Don't worry aunty, I won't bother you, I'll just visit Miss Cynthia and read books at the library" I said with a big, innocent smile.

"Okay then, if you keep your promise I'll take you with me again," she said as she ruffled my hair and went to her room to change her clothes

"Yay! Thank you, aunty!" I hug her from behind before she managed to enter.

If you have a child's body, you better use it to get what you want. And if I learned anything from these past years, is how to act like an innocent child.

She smiles at me then goes off to start changing. Although she doesn't close the door, considering that I am currently six and a half years old, a child, and we do bathe together. It just feels wrong to watch her in a sexual way, as she was the person who raised and took care of me all these years, she is the closest family I have.

"So what do you want for dinner?" she asks as she comes out in her pajamas; a simple cotton shirt and pants, similar to mine, made for providing maximum comfort.

"I want pizza," I said.

"You know what, I was thinking just the same," She said as she took her phone, "I'll order the food, you go and choose us a nice movie"

She dials the number and I go to the living room, picking up the remote and getting seated.

[User, The power upgrade is complete, you can now awaken]

Finally over, this has taken long enough. Two years ago, I asked the system if I had the potential to awaken as an esper. And I found out that I could, and that I would awaken a healing power.

Being one of the lucky people to have esper potential is amazing, I know. But awakening as a healer would have me stay on the backlines as a doctor, and being a doctor would not earn me any missions or earn any points. The system made it very clear that all the missions are killing missions, their sole purpose is killing.

The upgraded version of the power was also very interesting: Biomancy.

This particular power some kind of history in this world, as it has, for some unknown reason, only appeared in the hands of villains. Of the six individuals recorded in history wielding this power, three were in the republic. But all of them were the same; they performed inhuman experiments, created armies of enhanced goons and monster, and stole materials useful for their research.

Biomancy is simply the power to manipulate and shape anything biological: plants, animals and even humans. As long as something is biological, living or dead, they can manipulate it, including bones, scales, and even metals growing on some of the monsters. Biomancers usually enhance their physical bodies and the bodies of their goons to the extreme. However, once a biomancer escapes, it can be very hard to track them down again, as their powers allow them to freely change their finger imprint, blood type, face, voice, retina... basically they can become new people entirely.

That's why I wanted this to be my esper power. Granted, I could obtain other powers from the system, but considering the outrageous 100,000 points I'll have to spend if I ever want to obtain Biomancy, the 100 points I spent to change my powers are simply too little.

As for why it took two years in order to change my powers, there are two reasons for that:

1. It costs fewer points to let the system take longer in the upgrade.

2. I still didn't awaken my powers.

3. My body couldn't handle the sudden change, and if I had the system protect my body, it would have cost me a lot more points than I had.

"Do it while I sleep" I whispered to the system as I continued acting normal.
