"Is this your new trick to escape", Jiang Hongwen asked glaring at him
"No grandpa, why would I tell that kind of a lie it's the same as digging a hole for myself", Jiang Zihan said and the old man looked at him trying to find any trace of lying or deceit but Jiang Zihan's expressionless face didn't give anything away
"Who is she?, which family is she from?, where is she currently?, is she here?, wait is she even from this country, did you fall in love with a white woman Jiang Zihan?", Jiang Hongwen asked glaring at him there was no way he would allow the heir of his family marry a white.
"She is Chinese grandpa and she infact comes from a good family right here in Beijing but she is currently not in the country", Jiang Zihan answered, since he wasn't sure whether Chen Lihua was in Beijing or not there was no way he would tell his grandfather
"What's her name", Jiang Hongwen asked getting excited, he was finally getting a granddaughter-in law.
"I am sorry, but I can't tell you anything about her yet", Jiang Zihan said depleting Jiang Hongwen's hopes
"Why can't you tell us anything about her, we want to know", Yang Chan-Mi asked interrupting the discussion of the grandfather-grandson duo.
"Its kind of complicated grandma, but give me one month and I will bring her to you", Jiang Zihan said getting nervous himself, he doesn't even know where Chen Lihua is and what condition she is how will he have her marry him in one month, and what if she is already married", different thoughts ran through Jiang Zihan's mind but the most important thing right now is escaping his grandfather's clutches for find her.
"One WHOLE month, No way", Jiang Hongwen yelled in a tone of finalty.
"Grandpa please there are certain things I need to do before I can bring her to meet you", Jiang Zihan pleaded he had to convince his grandfather to let him go since it was next to impossible to run away from him again like he did five years ago.
"Please think about it father its just one month", Qin Nuan begged her father in law. Jiang Zihan has never said anything about a relationship before and he has always been strongly against getting married now that he suddenly has someone he likes they definitely can't jeorpadise it with their stubborness.
"Xiao Nuan, there is no way I am letting this boy leave again or our family generation might actually end with him. I actually think he is lying how did he have someone he likes all of a sudden and he can't even tell us anything about her", Jiang Hongwen said to Qin Nuan.
"We have already waited for five years what difference will one more month make, just let him go Hongwen",
Yang Chan-Mi said to her husband, the two men have always been at loggerheads because of their very similar attitude and their level of stubbornness is just the same.
"Let him go grandpa, I will watch over him for you don't worry", Jiang Yishi pleaded holding her grandfather's arms. Jiang Hongwen didn't want to refuse his beloved granddaughter but he also doesn't trust his grandson enough to let him go. "What if he doesn't come back in ten years this time?"
"Go back to your room first, I will think about it", Jiang Hongwen said
"Grandpa.....", Jiang Zihan was saying when Jiang Hongwen cut him short with his glare
"Don't you dare say anything more or I will get you married tomorrow itself", Jiang Zihan kept his mouth shut and went up the stairs to his room.
He looked around the room and everything was just as he left it, he went to the bathroom for a shower and had just come out when his phone rang.
"Zihan", Yan Jingshen voice came from the other end and Jiang Zihan immediately stopped what he was doing to listen to him.
"Why did the call get disconnected earlier", Jiang Zihan asked putting the phone to his ears
"My phone died and I just charged it", Yan Jingshen answered
"Where are you let's meet, I am in China", Jiang Zihan said trying to get ready
"You are in China, all of a sudden?, after so many years?, why?", Yan Jingshen asked forgetting the reason he called.
"Let's meet Jingshen", Jiang Zihan yelled getting impatient he wasn't in the mood to answer his numerous questions
"How can we meet, I am no longer in China. I left Five days ago", Yan Jingshen answered and Jiang Zihan could feel his head spin, so his coming to China was of no use
"Why did you leave?, anyways that's not even important, where are you, where did you spot Chen Lihua",
"I am in Boston, America and I saw Chen Lihua here", Yan Jingshen answered.
"Boston in the States", Jiang Zihan confirmed and Yan Jingshen answered yes
"Where in Boston did you see her", Jiang Zihan asked
"At the market near Royal Valley Estate, I think she lives there since it looked like she was brought out on a stroll with the way she was dressed", Yan Jingshen answered
"Brought out on a stroll..", Jiang Zihan asked confused
"Yes she was with a teenage boy around the age of 18 or 19 and she was on a wheelchair", Yan Jingshen said and Jiang Zihan could feel his head spin.
"On a...wheelchair", he said barely audibly but Yan Jingshen still heard him
"Yes on a wheelchair it looked like she couldn't even use her hands since the boy was the one that fed her water", Yan Jingshen said and Jiang Zihan didn't say anything more before hanging up the call.
"Chen Lihua..., his Chen Lihua on a wheelchair".
"Is that why she didn't show the world her face for almost two years and made everyone believe she was no more, what and who is behind that accident", Jiang Zihan could feel a headache coming up, he had to go to Boston as soon as possible he needed answers.
"Young Master, dinner is ready Madam has called you downstairs " a maid announced from the door and Jiang Zihan hummed in response, he had to find a way to convince his grandfather. A while later at the dinner table
"You can leave the day after tomorrow but you only have one month, if you do not bring her home within a month you will have to listen to anything I say", Jiang Hongwen said sternly and Jiang Zihan smiled happily
I will bring her back Grandpa", Jiang Zihan said with conviction
"Yay, I will be having a sister in law soon", Jiang Yishi smiled happily and everyone at the table burst into laughter, the rest of the meal continued in peace and the whole family chatted together for a while before going to bed.
The next morning Jiang Zihan was the first to wake up and he went for his routine morning exercise
"Good morning mom", he greeted and pecked his mother on her cheeks while she watered her flowers in the garden
"Morning son, how was your night", Qin Nuan dropped her watering can and turned to face him
"My night was great Mom", Qin Nuan smiled and patted his cheeks
"That's nice, you should go freshen up then come down for breakfast", She said and Jiang Zihan nodded and entered the house.
"Mom where is Yishi", Jiang Zihan asked when he didn't see his little sister at the breakfast table
"She had a shoot this morning so she already left and she would be picking up your father on her way back, he is coming back from his trip today", Qin Nuan said and Jiang Zihan nodded.
"She should have had breakfast before leaving, Aunt Mary can you please pack up her food I will take it to the shoot for her", Jiang Zihan said to their cook before continuing his meal.
A little while later he drove out of the house in a white Porsche.
"Wait a minute is that not the Elvis", a young girl at the shooting site said to the person beside her
"Oh my god, its him. The Elvis", the person yelled and ran forward to meet Jiang Zihan they were stopped by Jiang Yishi's bodyguards.
"Elvis, Elvis", the whole crowd at the shooting site kept on shouting his name until he entered Jiang Yishi's dressing room,
"Brother, you are here", Jiang Yishi said and stopped to listen to the noise outside.
"Oh your fans have gone crazy, you have turn our shoot upside down with your presence", Jiang Yishi said laughing.
"Why didn't you use a mask", Jiang Yishi asked when she finally stopped laughing.
"I forgot because I was in a hurry to bring you your meal", Jiang Zihan said calmly, after been in the showbiz industry for the past dozen years he had gotten used to been followed by fans everywhere
"Tell your guards to find a way to dispatch the crowd, I have to go somewhere right now", Jiang Zihan said and Jiang Yishi nodded before walking out of the room.
