Chapter 8 I'd Rather Die

Mrs. Jiang could not possibly sacrifice Aaron in very stressful conditions just like that. She also intended to surrender herself to those people.

"Better take me! Don't you all want me?" Mrs. Jiang gave herself up to those mercenaries. The older woman didn't want Aaron Liu to get hurt again.

"Why didn't you do it earlier, Mam? We didn't have to take care of that weakling," a man sarcastically quipped.

The man gestured for them to let the old lady into the car. It made Aaron Liu feel useless to be by Mrs. Jiang's side.

"Come back, Grandma. I'd better die, don't get in the car!" shouted Aaron Liu in an attempt to get up and catch up with the old lady.

Before Mrs. Jiang could get into the car, the siren of a police car was heard. The men immediately panicked and rushed into the car. They immediately fled without bringing the old lady she was supposed to carry.

The feeling of panic made them turn out to be very stupid and careless. Mrs. Jiang chuckled, watching them all run away from there.

"Get in the car! We're going to the hospital before the office," Mrs. Jiang coaxed as she tried to help Aaron walk into the car.

"I'll take the car, Grandma." Even though he wasn't doing too well, Aaron Liu didn't want to make that woman his driver. It was uncomfortable and very embarrassing for him.

"Stay seated there!" said Mrs. Jiang, emphasising her every word.

As Aaron Liu had expected, the older woman beside him was still very good at controlling the car. Age had not diminished her driving skills at all.

Aaron Liu felt defeated by a woman who had been so kind to him. There was nothing to be proud of in front of Mrs. Jiang. Even protecting her, he couldn't.

A few minutes into their journey, they arrived at the best private home in the city. Mrs. Jiang wanted the best treatment for Aaron Liu.

"Who are they, Grandma?" asked Aaron Liu as they made their way to the emergency room.

"Let's treat those wounds first. I'll tell you something later." Mrs. Jiang pulled Aaron Liu's hand. She wanted him to be able to walk much faster. There were a few things they had to do later.

Do a quick examination and then get the best treatment from the doctor on duty at the emergency room. The facial injuries, as well as some bruises, were not severe at all. It would only take a few days to get back to normal.

Aaron Liu was fortunate that there were no internal injuries. He was genuinely grateful for that.

After treating the injury, Mrs. Jiang paid for the administration and took the man to the office.

"Let's go to the office first. The meeting started five minutes ago. Is it okay if we postpone our breakfast, Aaron?" asked Mrs. Jiang with some anxiety. There were some things to take care of at the company.

"No problem, Grandma. I'm also very ready to drive now. Grandma can sit in the back seat." Aaron Liu got into the car, followed by Mrs. Jiang, who had been anxious.

The car sped away from the hospital. In just a few minutes, they arrived at the magnificent multi-story building.

Aaron Liu opened his car door and accompanied her into the room where the meeting had started. Before long, Mrs. Jiang was at the door and preparing to go inside.

"Good afternoon. I'm sorry a little problem made me so late." The older woman said so with a flat face. She sat down on a chair which was her position.

"What exactly happened to you, Mrs Jiang?" asked one of the people who happened to be meeting with her.

Mrs. Jiang glanced at a woman who happened to be sitting next to her. She was her sister-in-law, Wen Ziyi. What a coincidence that she used to take care of the work in his absence. Something felt very suspicious about the few people who got in the way.

The meeting this time was to discuss a cooperation project between the company and a fashion store that was popular. It was her sister-in-law who proposed the cooperation on behalf of Mrs. Jiang.

"There was someone who wanted me not to attend this meeting. Fortunately, I could come even though I was a little late. How did the meeting go this time?" Mrs. Jiang asked them all.

"What do you mean? Who wants to harm you?" asked Wen Ziyi to Mrs. Jiang.

Wen Ziyi showed an anxious face and was also afraid that her sister would get hurt. She tried to show all her concern for her older sister.

Mrs. Jiang smiled wryly and looked at her meaningfully. It was too disgusting to deal with that two-faced woman.

"Let's continue the meeting this morning. Keep an eye on the store for a few days. Make sure it's worth selling our products," said the old woman, the company's sole owner.

"Didn't I already survey the shop? Why do we have to observe again?" said Wen Ziyi in a bit of a panic. It was as if something was being covered up.
