For that reason, the kingdom was able to advance very quickly in every field needed to them like agriculture, construction, education, and specially military. Consequently, the country was a huge thread to every nation, since humans had indirectly declared war on everyone who wasn't their own race. As much as every country wanted to attack them to protect themselves from letting humans gain more power and keep enslaving their kind, they couldn't afford another war. Especially now that humans were far ahead in almost every aspect.
Back in the battle, the archers aimed at the elder lich hoping to hurt it. Yet, none of the arrows reached, since he would stop them in midair and changed their composition. By now, at least every archer had shot an arrow once or twice. There was a total of 94 green arrows floating, awaiting for a command. The general was annoyed of how the elder lich was just toying with them. Suddenly, he spotted the girl who he thought was commanded the elder lich, he told a group of 20 soldiers to attack the group of demi-humans. As they charged, Deselb, longing thirst for battle, was about to be quenched. His blue eyes sparkled just by the thought of being able to let out some steam. However, his hope for revenge were destroyed once more by the skeleton. 20 of the arrows were launched at the small battalion. Each arrow sent by the skeleton plunged the heart of their target, making the green glow emitted by the arrow disappeared slowly, turning to dust immediately as the glow died down. Seeing each soldier was riding a horse, he decided to send 20 more arrows. The general wasn't worried since he wasn't planning to shoot anymore arrows, thinking that would change something. All of the sudden, the once dead soldiers started moving on their own, making their appearance change drastically in mere seconds. Their once white, tan, or brown skins were now nonexistent and was replaced by bare bones. Their once leather and silver metal armor was replaced by a full obsidian color armor. The horses on the other hand went through a radical transformation. Every horse had turn to a purple, almost black color. The head of the horse lacked 90% of its skin with some blood constantly dripping from the remaining skin of the forehead of the creature. A huge navy blue almost black horn adorns their head, the mouth of the horse had two fangs that were a few inches long. Their eyes had turn into a bright mesmerizing turquoise. For the rest of the body nothing really changed, the once brown leather saddle, changed to obsidian horse armor. The long silk hair tail split into two and changed to a whip like tail adorn with a long pointy navy-blue horn.
The human soldiers stood terrified from what they had just witnessed. It was impossible for an elder lich to have that kind of power. The skeleton hadn't finish, since now he had acquired a small battalion. He wanted more, therefore, he shot each archer with an arrow turning them into undead. The skeleton still wanted more, changing the composition of all the arrows the archers had. When the general was about to tell the rest of the soldiers to attack the newly turn archers, they started shooting at the soldiers turning them into undead too. In a few minutes the skeleton had acquired more than half of the soldiers. The remaining soldiers were surrounded by the undead army. By the end of the battle, he only left the general and some of the soldiers who had instantly refuse to take part in the massacre. There were only a handful of individuals who thought the general had crossed the line.
On the other side of the field near the dead men forest, the rest of the demi-humans stood there stupefied of what had just transpired. The weakened boy felt a sudden surge of energy running through him. Apparently, he had leveled up thanks to his summoned skeleton. When Deselb and Nynphela saw there boy, they knew he changed somehow. The boy started walking towards the skeleton floating in the sky. As the boy got closer, the skeleton slowly moved towards the boy. When suddenly, the undead army vowed down to the young dark elf. Once the skeleton reached the ground, so did he.
"My lord, I present to you, a loyal army of the undead. There's a total of 184 undead soldiers at your disposal. They're all level 30 with potential of improving my lord!" said the skeleton.
"We're here to serve!" The newly undead army shouted unanimously
"Thank you um… hmm…I'm sorry I don't know your name."
"I have none my lord, I was summoned to protect you from harm's way"
"Oh, I see… Will you stay by my side at all times? or will you go back to where you came from? If I want to summon you again, will you come or will someone else be summoned? And…"
"My lord, my apologies for interrupting you, but I think I should explain how your skill works. As you may know, a spell and a skill work differently. A spell, anyone can attempt to learn if they have the aptitude to wield it. Which even if you don't have the aptitude for basic element magic like fire, wind, earth, and water, you can develop it with hard work and persistence from there once you have mastered the basics. You can try and attempt different branches such as ice, thunder, dark, holy, and special, which if you're skilled enough, you will manage to cast the spell you want. If your aptitude isn't sufficient, you can get hurt or worst. Skills are the ones you have since birth which not many are born with. They can be varied from fighting styles to a specialty of magic which are unique. From there, they're put into a classification, such as holy, dark, and elemental. For you, my lord, you fall under the dark skill classification. You have the power to bring the dead back to life to an extent. The name of your skill would be call necromancy, therefore, you're a necromancer my lord. You were also born with a skill but every magical affinity. That also means you can learn any skill which consist in using magic. You can only keep 3 skills in your arsenal, not counting with the necromancer skill. Though you can't replace that skill since you were born with it, you can start learning different skills once you reach level 80. I must apologize since at the moment, I do not know your current level, but I do estimate that now you're level 20 since I defeated the army."
"Wait, but why did I level up if you did the work for me? Also, shouldn't I be a higher level since they were 186 soldiers you killed?"
"For your first question, I'm your summon; therefore, if I kill someone, the experience goes to you. My power depends on how much magika I consume from you. For the second question, every time you kill someone of your race, you can only obtain 30% of the experience. Each soldier from level 15 to 17 would give from 1,050 to 3,080 exp from18 to 20 from 3,200 to 5,600. The total experience from killing the soldiers was 466,660 minus 70% you received a total of 139,980. For some odd reason, your leveling system is different from every human or creature. It'll be a bit more difficult to level up, however, you have an advantage no one else has.
For every 10 levels, you'll be able to have a permanent higher summon at all times. You can pick a class of summon and race, though it depends on your level. For example, right now you could try and summon any low typical race Like any type of elf, human, dwarf, goblins, ogres, and drapzils. Each race has their own advantages and disadvantages. For example, goblins are great scavengers but aren't very strong. Drapzils have great magical and poison resistance but have low physical damage resistance. For other creatures like succubus, daemons, dragons, or any other legendary creatures, you must reach level 100 to be able to summon them, since a great amount of magika is needed. You can also evolve the summon or transform them to a legendary creature or give them any type of characteristics or power. For that, you would have to reach level 150. I was a random summon since you were unconscious. I'm actually a great first summon, since I'm able to switch class just by absorbing magika. I'm an anomaly amount anomaly since I have no race or gender. You can say I could be a doppelgänger in some ways. When you choose a permanent summon, your magika will only be depleted at the initial summon ritual. Unless they run out of magika, they can absorb a portion of yours if needed. If you manage to reach less than 25% magika, summons won't be able to absorb anymore since that can put your life at risk. All of your permanent summons will start at level 1. Also, we'll start off with half of the magika capacity you were born with. After the initial summoning ritual for the permanent summon is preformed, we can either be with you at all times or we can be sent back till you need us. If a summon senses you're in any type of danger, we can come out without having to be summoned. If a summon dies, we won't die permanently, we will be able to be resummoned after 24 hours have past. For you to wish to resummon us if we die, you will have to use magika, as well as switching/replacing the summon."
"Oh, that's still very good, thank you for your help," said the boy.
"I'm sorry for interrupting, is just that I overheard your conversation. Everyone has an identification card when we sign up to the army and it'll be able to tell you everything about yourself if you use it. Here. take this one I got, it's from one of the undead soldiers. Just let your magika flow into it and it should tell you everything about yourself." said a random human
"Thank you," the boy replied.
The boy was taken back by how the human didn't look at him with disgust, but he decided to take the crystal clears rectangular object. He closed his eyes, trying to focus since that's what the human told him to do. Suddenly, the rectangular object glowed and everything about him was revealed. His parents stood frozen in shock when they saw the stats of the boy.
