Chapter V

The soldier's sinister intentions grabbed the attention of the skeleton who only with was to serve his master. The soldier picked up his arm with his sword, ready to slay little myrtle. In a flash, a swift breeze of air hit everyone who stood between the skeleton and his new target. The vision of the soldier was blocked by some old fragile looking bones. He looked up a bit aghast by the sudden appearance of the skeleton, but after the small interruption, the soldier humbly laughed thinking he would be able to get rid of his new foe. Once the naïve individual regained his composure, looks at the skeleton and attempts to swing his sword. He waited for his arm to react and strike the skeleton. Even so nothing happened, only a sudden realization. He couldn't move his orc or feel it, it was gone. A black corroding occurrence was taking over the rest of the soldier's arm. Immediately, the soldier started screaming from the sudden realization of his missing arm, along with an excruciating pain from the rotting effect of his arm. The skeleton hadn't even moved from his place. Yet the soldier was gravely wounded, and everyone were stunned by what a weak looking skeleton did.

The general now realizing he wasn't a normal regular skeleton, he had to be much more powerful to be able to cause such damage to a level 13 soldier. Normally, undead skeletons were level 3 or 5 the highest, only being able to wield a sword or a shield. However, this skeleton had a great black scythe.

"He seems to be protecting the little girl; therefore, she might be controlling him. Kill her at once!" The general voiced out to his soldiers.

When the general had commanded to kill the girl, most of the soldiers were doubtful to attack. Everyone had witness how the naïve soldier had died. Being consumed slowly and painfully by an unknown cause. They knew it was the doing of the skeleton, however, not knowing how he did it was worrisome for them.

As the skeleton heard the orders of the general, looks at the little girl and kneels before her and extends his long bonny arm towards the terrified girl. She didn't know what to do but to try and trust the skeleton, since he had saved her from her gruesome fate from the soldier. The skeleton swiftly picks her up and disappeared instantaneously, appearing next to the little half dark elf and his family. While putting the girl down, he looks at the boy waiting for approval. Somehow the boy knew what the skeleton had asked him. The boy looked at the field with several bodies laying lifeless on the now blacken terrain. The boy just nods, giving the skeleton permission to do as he pleased. Once the girl was on the floor, she ran towards Nynphela and Deselb. She cried and cried horrifically, having reason to. She had witnessed the death of her father firsthand.

The skeleton stood up looking at the battlefield, making the soldiers feel uneasy. A cold shiver ran up the spine of any who stood against the skeleton. The skeleton started walking with an unhurried pace towards the field. Extending his arm sideways, dropping the great black scythe. The soldiers looked at him more worrisome, not knowing how he would attack them. Swiftly, the half dark elf felt like someone had drained him almost completely. Feeling weak and lightheaded, fell to the ground. Deselb rushed to pick him up and looks at the skeleton infuriated. Since he knew why his boy had fallen down, now he knew why the skeleton was so strong. Nonetheless he wasn't truly sure about it, since that meant that his boy was stronger than he initially thought.

There were individuals that could give an attack, item, more magika, or boost an enchantment; nevertheless, those individuals were the rarest commodities in existence. But the rarest thing here was that the boy had summoned a skeleton. No one in the world had ever had such power, although it's a great power, it fed off the boy's magika to become stronger. The skeleton could even adapt to a different fighting style just by absorbing magika. Deselb was living proof of how the skeleton was able to change his fighting styles. The skeleton had started fighting with a sword and shield, changing to daggers just like those of an assassin's and then to a scythe just like a dark knight's weapon. Aside from that, the half dark elf must have had a great magika capacity that surpasses Deselb's and Nynphela's. However, the boy's magika should have been almost nonexistent because of the enslavement collars. Even so, he could've still summoned and feed the skeleton magika. What the boy had already accomplished was incredible; however, he had no idea how much more powerful the boy actually was.

While the skeleton walked toward all the soldiers, he motions his hand for the demi-humans to go to Deselb and Nynphela. They all ran towards their direction as fast as they could. As soon as they started running, the general commanded the archers to strike the demi-humans down. There was a total of 50 archers, most of them reaching the master archer level. They prepared their bows and arrows so that the general would give them the signal. The general grinned with enthusiasm, knowing he could get rid of most of them.

Instantly, the general gave them the order to shoot the running demi-humans. The hearts of every single demi-human stroked with terror. The chance for them to escape the arrows was nonexistent. The general started laughing nervously, hoping one of the arrows could hurt or take the skeleton down. Except, all his hopes were turned down in seconds. The arrows were suspended mid-way in the air, as if time had stopped. All the demi-humans kept running, expecting to feel an arrow piercing through them. Yet, nothing. Most of them had reached their destination. Everyone could now see that the one responsible for stopping the arrows mid-way was the skeleton.

Somehow, the skeleton had casted a simple telekinesis spell stopping the arrows. The general was amazed by how a simple looking skeleton had casted a spell; since they weren't supposed to be able to do so, unless the skeleton was no mere skeleton but an elder lich. Even so, it should be impossible for someone to be able to control it, since they're born once every 50 years, as they're only born from negative energy. Like a massive slaughter, a war, or even from a cemetery from accumulated negative energy. They're known to be extremely dangerous and powerful, being able to reach from level 20 to 30.

The general knew he would have a hard time defeating it. Thus far, he had 189 soldiers making his suppose victory assured. The skeleton turned the arrows towards the soldiers, as well as changing the composition of each one, turning them to a bright glowing green. A sinister voice echoed with no sign from who it came from, somehow everyone knew it was the skeleton.

"I do not wish to hurt you. My master has permitted me to eradicate every single one of you; therefore, if you value your lives, turn back or you'll meet your doom."

"As if we, the great human race, would fear such an individual! That bitch must be your master. We have a special punishment for that little bitch. Just admit defeat and we'll let the rest of you live so that you could be of further use to us." Said the general with sinister intent.

"How dare you disrespect my master like that you low worm! You will pay dearly for this offense!"

"As if you could defeat us. Attack!"

"Pitiful lower life forms." The skeleton whispered.

Every soldier rushed to attack the skeleton when suddenly he elevated to the skies. The general knew the power of an elder lich but this one was different; this one was able to wield gravity magic. Most elder lich were able to wield basic elemental magic. There were a few individuals who tried wielding gravity but failed miserably while trying to even attempt to use it. Since most would die from magika depletion and even have one or both arms crushed by the power need it to wield such powerful magic. Therefore, most scholars wouldn't even attempt to use such magic. However, there were some who had access to artifacts filled with magika reserves. Those individuals could observe the magika in the artifact to restore their own, they could also use potions to restore it. Yet, the artifacts were easier to procure since the kingdom had a vast supply of magika, which was provided thanks to all the ones with the enslavement collars.
