Chapter 16: An Epic surprise

In Eldergard weapons, items and chests all had grades. Each grade signified that a weapon or item of the same level is stronger then a bother just because it is in a higher grade.

For example a two Swordsman fight with beginner Swords, one has a Bronze beginners sword and the other has a silver Beginners sword, even if the items were the same level and they had the same stats the one with the silver grade weapon will win 9/10.

And in terms of chest, the higher the grade the higher quality and quantity will be given. A silver chest might give 5 silver grade weapons and 15 normal grade items, a gold chest will give 1 gold grade weapon and 20 silver grade items.

But items that don't follow this trend are ranked items. The rank of these items are Great, Amazing, Epic, Legendary, Mythical and Fable.

These ranks amplify the quality of an item to another level, but they were as rare as diamond grade items which meant that they were so few you could go years before even being in the same fasicinty as one. In his past life Marcus only knew of twelve ranked items ever being found, they were all either Great or Amazing Rank and they were all owned by high ranked guilds, that he knew of at least.

"To think I got an Legendary Silver grade chest, this is the equivalent of getting a platinum grade chest!" he said as he could barely contain his happiness.

"No, I feel like I'm exaggerating, it should be the equivalent of a dark gold grade chest, since the drop rate of a legendary item is probably not that high even in a legendary chest, but I pray I get something that's at least powerful and I'm capable of using it now" he said as he looked at the silver chest that had a bright glow over it.

"Open" he said.

The chest burst open and items fell out as the chest disintegrated. Even some gold coins dropped.

[+25 Gold]

He was a bit disapointed to see they were all silver grade but he searched through them all to see the attributes of every item.

Most were high level silver grade armor and weapons, but one that caught his eye was a Sword that rather then lay on the ground it floated a short distance from the ground.

He put the rest into his inventory and picked up the floating sword.

With a glistening silver blade that had ancient looking ruins carved in, a purple tint over the silver glow and a blue gem embedded into the guard Marcus smiled as he looked at the sword.

"Holy shit, an epic weapon" he said chuckling. "To think it would have such amazing effects and AOE skills" he said looking at the attributes.

[Ego weapon]

"Not sure if I know what an ego weapon even is, I've never heard of them, are they closely related to magic weapons?" he asked himself. "If that's true this could be quite risky, magic weapons tend to have heavy backlash on their wielders and more often then not kills them" he said.

"Ego implies it's alive, maybe that's it" he said observing the weapon.

[Awakening requirement: All Exp must be given to Dragon tooth]

"I'm guessing this is a requirement to equip the sword, heavy but since I haven't even broken to the double digits it's worth it" he said with a grin on his face.

He gripped the hilt of the sword.

[Will you awaken the ego weapon?]

[Yes/No]

"Yes" he said.

The whole world went dark suddenly and he saw nothing but a pair of red glowing eyes.

"FINALLY...I MAY SEE THE LIGHT...ONCE MORE" the voice boomed into his ears and all her could hear was a loud ringing.

Marcus shut his eyes and covered his ears.

He opened eyes when it got quiet and he was outside the dungeon.

"Level up requirements? Grade up requirements? Does this mean this weapon can get stronger" he said shivering.

"An epic weapon that can grow stronger if it's given the required resources and by the looks of it there will be no backlash" Marcus said sheathing his new sword.

He looked at the rest of the items in his inventory and smirked at how bountiful this one dungeon raid was.

"If only all Dungeons were like this" he said.

He looked around and sighed.

"I was much quicker then I first estimated it would take, I should go back to town for now, sell these items at the auction house and make a hefty profit" Marcus said smirking.
