Katie hurt?

Merry kept listening intently. When Mrs. Miller finished her sentence, there was once again an awkward silence in the room.

"I guess we don't have anything else to talk about. So, you can leave," Mrs. Miller said breaking that uncomfortable silence.

"But I have to remind you once more. If you see any changes in your physical ability or if you remember anything new from your memories, you have to tell me."

"Now, go back to your dorm."

"Okay," Merry replied simply and walked back to her dorm.

That conversation she had with Mrs. Miller was almost a week ago. And she hadn't had the time or rather to say her friends didn't have any time for her to share the newfound information with them.

She was looking for a timing to discuss about the program, which Mrs. Miller had talked about.

One day as usual, Merry was alone in the dorm in the afternoon. But unlike the other days, her friend Katie returned earlier from her training that day.

Merry was in her room. When she heard someone opening the dorm's main door, she came out to see who it was.

'Who could be here at this hour? Did Mrs. Miller asked for me again?' she wondered approaching the living room.

Merry was surprised to see Katie enter the dorm.

"Hey! you are back early. Did the lessons end sooner today?" she asked Katie while walking towards her.

Before Katie could reply her, Merry noticed that Katie was limping and wincing in pain whenever she took a step.

"Oh god! What happened? Are you hurt?" Merry asked worryingly.

"It's nothing bad. I sprained my ankle while exercising," Katie replied.

Merry hurriedly approached Katie and helped her to sit on the couch.

"It must be so painful. Shouldn't we do something? Well, I really don't know what is done to treat a sprained ankle. So, I will alert the guards. Maybe they will send someone."

Merry was just about to get up when Katie spoke,"No, you don't have to. The healthcare providers already assess the injury. The swelling is not that bad and other symptoms are also not severe so there is no damage to the ligaments or bones."

"Hence, we should do nothing. Is that what it is?" Merry asked.

"I didn't say that and why do you look like you are about to cry. It's me who is in the pain here," Katie said jokingly as Merry had teary eyes.

"Okay, don't worry. I am fine. The medical personnels already applied a cold pack and compressed my ankle to decrease swelling. Also, they have told me to elevate my ankle while sitting or lying down and they have limited my physical activities in the training for a few days. Thus, you absolutely don't have to worry."

"Then, why haven't you elevated your leg? Put your leg up in the table," Merry said helping Katie to elevate her ankle.

"I was just about to," Katie said pouting as if she was wronged somehow.

"Do you need anything else? Water.. Do you want water?" Merry asked getting anxious as she was not able to help Katie reduce her pain.

"Yeah, a cup water would be nice,"Katie said while trying to get comfortable on the couch.
