Ch. 12 Yura Of The Demon Hair

Snek did his best to protect Kagome and Kaede, but the other villagers were not so lucky.

The demon girl responsible for the attack stood on thin strands of air as she was suspended in the sky above.

She had short black hair and pink eyes with a red bow tied in her hair and was wearing a rather revealing outfit that reminded Snek of a kunoichi from the manga Jei likes to read.

He would have gigantified himself to fight her but he was worried that he would either crush the people around him and would also be leaving the 2 women susceptible to attack.

"A demon snake? Why would you protect these humans?" The demon girl asked.

Snek just glared at her but missed the strand of hair that worked it's way into his coils while he was distacted.

Shhaaa!

He hissed as his tail flicked to take down the hair but a feminine scream echoed from inside his coiled body.

A pink jewel was pulled out before he could react. He looked at the women inside his coils and found they had both been wounded on their shoulders and the Shikon jewel had been pilfered.

He tightened his coils again so as not to let any more hairs inside while glaring menacingly at the demon girl.

"Ah, the Shikon Jewel! After 50 years it has finally reappeared. Thanks little snake! As a prize, I'll tell you my name before you all die." She chuckled. "I'm Yura of the Demon Hair. That's the name of the one who killed you."

Snek felt humiliated. He was supposed to protect Kagome and now not only is she injured, but the jewel has been stolen.

In defiance he hissed and then opened his mouth.

Energy began gathering in front of it and a blue ball was taking shape.

Yura could feel the power behind it causing her eyes to widen in surprise. If that hit her there wont be anything left!

The ball finished forming and he launched it at her with a hiss.

However it missed. Before it hit her, she manipulated the hair and her movement became erratic like a dangling puppet.

The ball tore through any hairs causing many of them connected to her fingers to slacken.

"Annoying snake! Once I assimilate with the jewel, I'll destroy you!" Yura held the Shikon Jewel and admired it for a moment. It really was beautiful and the power inside could take her to the top of this world.

"Don't you dare!" A voice echoed from deeper in the forest and before Yura could blink, a young man with Spiky black hair and green eyes emerged from the forest.

Jei took a second to observe the situation. Snek was in a defensive position, villagers, bandits, and some animals were all dangling in the air like puppets.

Then there was the demon girl Yura. He had heard her words as he had gotten closer. But he knew he needed to focus on her. If she takes in the jewel, how much stronger would she be? Enough to beat him or the entire world?

He didn't want to find out!

"Give the jewel back and I wont have to kick your..." It was the first time seeing Yura, she was standing in the air above him and when he went to take an actual look at her, he saw something that made him freeze.

"What? Did my beauty stun you? Your hair looks very clean, maybe if you're lucky I'll add you to my collection.~"

Jei's nose had a small drop of blood, which he wiped with his hand and turned his face in embarrassment.

"Um... no. It's just that... You're not wearing any panties... and standing above... I saw... IT..."

Yura was taken back for a moment but then let out a sonorous chuckle.

"What a precocious boy. To think my body was seen~ I can't get married anymore.~ hahahaha."

Jei wasn't about to admit that she looked like his type. His spiritual senses were able to pick up just how rotten she was, and he was also getting annoyed with all the nuisances that appear because of the jewel.

"Ahem! Like I was saying, return the jewel and I wont have to kick your ass!" Jei said after recovering from the mental attack she gave him.

Yura smirked. "The jewel is mine now. And you? You will be be by my side as I conquer this world... at least your hair will."

Tendrils of hair erupted from a red comb she held in her hand.

Jei dodged them as they pierced and slashed at him.

The ground and trees were obliterated under her assault.

'Damn it! If I could get close to her, it would be my win! But all this damn hair!'

Jei kept up his movements. His was far stronger than the woman but she was nimble and quick.

Her control of the hair gave her movements like spiderman and she could move in omnidirectional patterns while gravity kept pulling him down.

He would dodge the hairs and lunge up at her when he found an opening. But this little dance between them was getting both of them of nowhere.

"Hmph! Try this boy!" Yura manipulated the hairs and a bunch of the human puppets appeared in his way.

"Bitch!" Jei had to back off. If he kept attacking, she would use the villagers as shields.

But this was a mistake Yura had been waiting for.

A tendril of hair managed to catch his foot, dragging him along the ground and smashing him through several trees.

'That's hurts!' Jei thought. He hasn't been in a real battle before. Just intense training with Yusuke and Hiei so this type of pain was new to him.

Blood was coming down his forehead and his clothes were torn, revealing his muscled frame.

"Not bad. Your body is almost as attractive as your hair. Maybe I'll enjoy you a bit before taking your skull.

Jei dangled from his foot by the hair as she said that. A shudder went down his spine at the thought.

But his anger was rising.

Shhaa! (Master!) Snek hissed with worry.

"Damn it! This hair is a nuisance!" Jei glared at Yura. "Fine! You asked for it..."

Energy formed on his palm as he clenched his fist and drew it back.

"Still not giving up? How cute~" Yura taunted him. No matter what attack he used she was prepared to maneuver away.

"Heh. Cute? Let's see if you still think that!" Jei tilted his body and thrust his fist forward opening the palm and releasing the stored energy.

[Spirit Shotgun!]

Dozens of Spirit Gun erupted from his hand, spread out like a shotgun blast.

They destroyed the hairs binding his foot as well as many of the hairs Yura stood on.

"What the-?!"

With great agility and a little luck, Yura managed to dodge most of the attacks, however her cocoon she had been living in and her left arm were not so lucky.

A bunch of hairs mixed with skulls poured out of her cocoon and her arm was completely gone above the elbow.

"Bastard!" Yura screamed.

Jei had been released from the hair and she was now injured.

"Fine! I'll get serious too!" She lifted her good arm and in her hand was the Shikon Jewel.

"No! Don't!" Jei screamed but it was too late.

Yura lifted the jewel to her face and smirked.

"It's over now..." She swallowed the jewel whole.
