Chapter 3

"What do you think of me? A high-class citizen? Can't you see?" I point out my face and my whole looks while sitting still on the chair. "I'm just a nobody. So why would not I recognize you from a person like me?"

He just plainly smiles, then drinks his cucumber juice again until it's full empty.

"I don't think I should believe in you," he says with a reaction of his face, somehow controlling it not to burst into laughter.

"Then, don't believe in me! I'm not forcing you, okay?" He just chuckles a little bit for what I utter.

Chewing the rest of the food that is on my plate, I immediately swallow it and drink the iced tea afterwards.

"Well, even if you forced me to do so, I would still not."

"It's up to you. By the way, I have to go. I'm already full," then I excuse myself and pass him by so sudden while he is still sitting on his chair.

"Wait. It is not time yet!"

I continually head to the exit of the food court without looking back at him even just once. Maybe he just can't believe that I end our conversation that way after I just ate all of my orders. Anyway, what's the point of talking with him even more? Gosh, I must not meet that stranger again. He's so creepy! There's something in him that he really knows me about. I can really sense it from him. Good thing we did not exchange names and other personal info to each other.

The bell just rings when I'm already near in our room. Heading to my chair, I sit comfortably to have my rest because I feel like I will explode after I become so full. Oh no, I can't get the fact why my appetite was so great earlier knowing that I ate with the guy who is something creepy.

"Hey Sha!" One of my classmates approach me with a hand on the top of my shoulder. "Can you remember now my name?"

"Of course," I immediately respond as I try to divert my attention to her. "You are...Clyde, right?"

"Right! Exactly!"

"And what can I do for you?" I ask her when she sits right beside me. Clyde is my first girl classmate who got interested to know me more even though she has already many friends. It's more than a week has passed that I've been observing her as a nice friend to me.

"Hmm...I'm just asking you Sha if who is the guy you were with earlier in the food court?"

I stare at her, figuring out why she is asking that thing. I thought no one could notice me and that stranger because there were many students there and the place was so crowded.

"I don't know," with a little delay I manage to answer. "We just shared the table. That's it."

"You don't have to deny it. Just tell me. Is he your admirer or your date?"

"Neither of the two. He is just a total stranger to me," I honestly answer.

"O-M-G! Really?"

"Do you think I'm kidding here?"

"I must be glad. I'm so thankful to you, Sha!"

I smile on her with a direct contact of her eyes. "Tell me Clyde, do you like that guy?"

"I'm sorry Sha, I can't help myself earlier but to stare at him while he's talking to you. I find him so masculine. He's definitely my type!"

"So, you really got love at first sight on him?" Asking her again to make things clear. I can see in her eyes the hope and excitement for her to know more about that guy earlier. What I can say right now is that, how lucky is that guy to have this girl!

"Good afternoon, class!" We hear our adviser suddenly greets, almost everyone of us could hardly notice that she already arrives in. Clyde quickly goes back to her seat and I realize she's not able to answer my last question to her. Hurriedly, all of us stand together to greet her back. She signals to let us sit down, then commands on us to get and open our books. After half-hour of discussion on trigonometric function, we have our quiz afterwards and only I got the perfect score.

"Alesha Dizon," our adviser repeats in uttering my complete name while looking at me. At this very moment, I feel I did something good for how many years have passed. I can see that my other classmates murmur and at the same time look at me with hints of happiness on their faces.

Gosh, that was already taught in St. Jude that's why it makes me easy now to solve but I never expect to make it perfect! I somehow get flattered because at least I've learned solving there. But I feel bad for them when the next score is announced way far from my score and the rest got zero.

Our class has just dismissed few minutes ago, but still I'm here in our room with my few classmates. We're doing the sweeping because it is our schedule for this day. While I'm wiping the windows with a wet cloth, I get to be shocked when I see this particular guy who just passes by but turns back after a second and stops in front of me.

"Hey, lady!" He exclaims. Perhaps he thought I would get surprised but no, I'm already aware he is here! Why did he know where's my room, anyway? He is standing right now with his both hands inside the pocket of his pants. Staring at me again, he smiles on me causing to appear his dimple on his right cheek. "Can I fetch you in your way home? You just simply forgot to tell your name to me."
