Expedition [Pt.2]

Horrified by the sight of that spider web, Juan howled to press forward but in another direction, was he fucking crazy and stupid? There's a literal araña gigante around here and by the size of that web, it must be gigantic.

Shit I'm starting to like Juan more and more these days.

Hm? Always saw him as a coward? But now, no fear, no hesitation, I take back all the shit I said about you over the past few and or many weeks, let's continue brother Juan.

Heading right the trees were thicker and the branches were fewer, we needed to travel higher on the tree which might have been good for staying away from the ground, but if someone was to fall, I'm not going to sugar coat it, we're too young and weak, we'll die from a fall of that high.

But this is an adventure and we're all aware of that risk.

I hope. . .

Traveling higher into the air, the branches and vines to swing on came more to us, but we were traveling farther and farther away from the village, if something was to happen, we'd have to run or fend for ourselves and I don't think any of us have the strength to pull that off.

Literally. . .

While traveling more through the trees, I felt something hit my fur as we were swinging, it felt like a pine leaf which was odd seeing as we were in the jungle?

But I ignored it as it hadn't made much sense, I must have just felt something brush through my fur, I am swinging?But to be sure, I glanced around seeing nothing out of the ordinary from up here and as I looked around at the others who were following Juan and also looking around with amazement.

I looked down and saw nothing but the endless distance.

Looking up, I think I saw something bushy but ignored it as it was more like leaves... Bushy, wait bushy?! *Howl* I alarted the others and stopping on a branch and hanging from it, I lifted myself onto the branch and as the others stopped and looked over at me, I looked up, focused and prying hard to whatever the hell that bushy thing was?

A wind brushed the leaves over our heads and as I looked to the bushy thing, the leaves shook and something hit it but it didn't move, I think it might have just been a fruit.

I can't stay still, none is can for too long or something will get us, I shouldn't worry about the bushy, maybe, fruit.

*Howl*

Howling again, I was more calm about my tone, meaning all clear, we all understood how dangerous this trip was so we all stayed alert and we needed to call out anything-...

Potentially dangerous.

Leaping off the branch onto another we continued onward, and as we had we traveled many feet.

But than as I swung and looked over to Mariah who looked super happy about this trip, suddenly something swooped down and grabbed her by the fur on her neck!

*HOWLING SCREAM*

MARIAH!!!

She started screaming and I screamed as she was taken by a large brown fuzzy bird, I knew I should've checked it out! Why didn't I check it out!

This startled everyone but without thinking I swung to a lower branch and landing on it with my hand feet, I jumped right, grabbing a vine and kicking my feet to swing and go up higher than where I previously was.

Launching myself onto a higher ledge the fuzzy bird was fast but the large trees slowed it as it has to continuously turn and shift with Mariah in it's tallons.

Using that to my advantage I swung and leaped onto a higher and higher ledge and as it was flying and I was hoping from tree to tree above it, as it stopped to turn another direction, I jumped into it's back and grabbed it.

Just like how I saw in an MMA fight one time, I thrusted my hand under it's long fuzzy neck and soft fur and hooked it around my other arm, pulling and locking it, forcing the bird into a chokehold and getting it to fucking yelp for air.

The bird twisted and turned and hit against a tree.

Let Go Of My Mariah!!!

I didn't care for the pain coming to my sides as we collided against the treesides, I just wanted my Mariah back, and I wasn't letting some fuzzy fucking bird take her away from me to turn her into a chunky corpse paste to eat!

"AHHH!!!" screaming in rage! I came around while in my lock and shoved my snout into it's eye, baring fangs and all, and biting its eye, clenching hard and feeling icky juices flow into my mouth as I bit down hard and tore away forcing it to let go of her.

Hearing her scream as she fell from it, I shoved away and jumped down from it's back, seeing her and blood in the air, I put my arms together and swooped down fast, grabbing Mariah and turning around so that she would survive the fall if I absorbed most of the impact.

Please survive this... I can't lose you Mariah.
