"You're almost there," Howard urged, watching as the chipmunk rubbed his face with his paws. "Try again."
"Yeah," I sighed, trying to focus. "I'm just having a hard time connecting to this thing."
"Dale's got more experience than you do," He grinned, holding his hand out for the little creature. I watched as the chipmunk turned and ran into his hand before climbing up his arm. "He's been doing this for fifteen years."
"I don't know how to feel about that," As embarrassing as this was, the chipmunk looked more relaxed than I did. I'd been at this for a while, but the damn thing kept besting me. All I was supposed to do was make the chipmunk do the tasks on my paper. Nothing complicated, but he fought me when I tried to take control of him. "How is it I can command hundreds of werewolves, but a chipmunk is that mentally strong?"
