Flee or Perish

Seth's breath escaped in desperate gasps. Each step brought him closer to an uncertain outcome, but one thing was clear: they couldn't stop.

Behind them, the demons were gaining ground. Their guttural howls tore through the night's silence, and the ground trembled beneath their claws. A suffocating terror preceded them, enveloping everything in its path.

Running wasn't an option for everyone. Seth and his companions were running for their lives, but they couldn't turn their eyes away from the civilians they were trying to save. "Keep moving!" Seth shouted, his voice hoarse. He was speaking to the civilians as much as his companions. There was no longer a plan. Only survival instinct mixed with a firm resolution: no one would be left behind.
