Chapter 9

Stormy weather is all over the city where Vampires and Werewolves are blending smoothly. No one cares as long as you mind your own business, abiding by the law.

Heavy rains tip-toed in every corner of every alleys and street, even in the private subdivision where the big mansions were built.

Unknown to everyone! in Blood Rose street inside the prominent community, a person is struggling to free himself.

He was tied up in a metal chair with a silver chain around his body, waiting for his final death.

"Wh-what do you want?? " he asks almost a whisper.

"I don't want anything, but your agony and pain! " a man with piercing red eyes is hiding in the dark side of that room.

"Y-you will pay... pay.. for this! " his breathing became shallow as the silver chain slowly melting his skin.

The assassin walk towards him holding a syringe in his right hand, his face was covered with a mask. He is wearing a black fitted shirt and black fitted pants, paired with combat boots, a katana on his back, and a set of silver shuriken and daggers on both sides of his pants.

"Let me know how does it feel to get injected by vervain, how does it feel that slowly this poison creep inside your body traveling in your veins, going to the top of your brain! Don't worry I add some aqua regia acid in it so that it will slowly and painfully bring you a sweet sensation!!" An assassin squirts a little amount from the needle and harshly injected it on the victim's thigh.

The scream echoed together with the sharp lightning and thunder. He is panting because of the pain inflicted on his body.

"Why? W-why a-re you d-doing t-this? " he looks at the man with fear in his eyes. A tear in his eyes.

The man look at him smiling, he enjoys how his victim groans in pain, his face contorted with so much agony. He looks at his watch. He took the small silver chain and put it around his victim's mouth.

"In 20 minutes, the chemical in your body will completely cover your brain, by the time your head will explode like a time bomb! " he placed a sunflower on his lap and turn around to walk away but halt on a step.

He came back in front of the helpless man and whispered in his ears.

"In the name of Anthony and Meredith Mitchell, I'll see you in hell! " the victim's eyes went wide.

His silhouette disappeared in the dark.

Mew received another tragic news early in the morning, one of the leaders of the Gothic Guild was found dead in his own home. Head explodes because of vervain mix in aqua regia acid. It's a fatal death that no one can escape.

"Darwin Madrigal! a known philanthropist who just came home from Spain from a business trip, found dead inside his home in Blood Rose street! " the news anchor speaking on the television.

Mew watches the TV more on glaring for this is another headache for him. They were staying in one of his penthouses near the University. The back of their house is a thick forest it's a perfect place for wolves like them.

The killer leaves another sunflower it means it's the same person.

"Do you think the flower is a message itself? " Zee asks. He is an expert in weaponry and the strongest of them.

"The way he kills Jeff Ramirez and Darwin Madrigal is based on the depth of his grudge. Look! He kills Jeff with a snap of a sword while he painfully kills Darwin! " Luke who is watching the TV can't stop himself from thinking deep.

Mew on the other hand is in his deep thought, he wouldn't target a wolf, and he is leaving a sunflower, he assassinates his victim perfectly, without leaving any trace of his identity.

Although Mew has nothing to do with the vampire law, they will surely seek help from the wolf king.

The gulf is in the shower, humming a strange song that he only knew. Getting ready to transfer to his new house, his luggage and other belongings were put in a van already.

"Young man, the day will not wait for you! Hurry up! " he heard his father's voice outside his bathroom.

"Geez! "

Finishing his routine, he quickly goes down to face his father. It's the weekend and it's time for him to moved out of the mansion. He kissed his father's forehead and hug him tight.

"I will miss you, Dad, I love you! " Gulf buried his head on his father's shoulder while hugging him.

"You will come home every weekend, and you just move to another house, not to another country! " Henry caress his son's hair.

He feels sad that Gulf will be away from him, but this is for their safety. Especially now that Gulf starts his revenge.

"Can't you go with me? Please? " Gulf look at him with pleading eyes.

"You know I can't, I don't want to leave a trace there. I don't want them to know that you are related to me, they will question it especially the Guild! I will be careful, I promise! " he cupped his son's face and planted a kiss on his cheek.

He walks Gulf through the door, to bid him goodbye. Liam who is standing few meters away got threatened by Gulf to watch for his father.

Gulf reach the place around noon, he was surprised to see a huge penthouse in front of him. He was confused at first but Ja and Haii told him that this is the exact place and address. They already confirmed it to Henry.

The men help them to put all the boxes and luggage inside. Some servants were there also waiting for him.

A few blocks away, a group of Alpha wolves was looking at the new neighborhood. "A wolf talking to two vampires? " Mew asked himself.

"He looks familiar! " Bright squinted his eyes looking to a newcomer.

"It's the student in Lumen! His name is Gulf, right? " Luke said happily.

Before Mew can react they already stride to greet Gulf.

Gulf saw a group of wolves approaching them, but instead of alerting himself, a smile form on his lips.

"It's a surprise to see you here Gulf! " Bright greet him first.

"You need help? " Zee volunteer.

"Wow! I didn't expect that you are this rich! " Luke chirp in, earning a glare from his friends.

Gulf is about to speak but a sudden voice interrupts him.

"Fancy to meet you here again Gulf! " it was Mew.

All the words he wanted to say were said already by his friends so he have no choice but to think of words to catch Gulf's attention.

Gulf look at him smiling, then look down.

"Yeah? Well, my father said I'm old enough to live on my own, so he bought me a house and deliberately kicked me out of our home !" Gulf said smiling.

"I wish I had a father who will prepare everything for me before kicking me out! " Nine said.

Everyone laughs except Mew. He is pissed that his friends are casually and comfortably talking to Gulf, while he is struggling to form words to say.

"Young master! Food is ready, you can eat anytime! " one of the servants said then leave.

Gulf swallows hard and awkwardly looks at the group. He didn't talk with the servants yet that he don't want to be called young master.

They look at each other awkwardly but Gulf got the courage to speak again.

"You guys want to join me for lunch? " Gulf can't think of anything to say, so the idea of inviting them will be the best way.

The group agreed and walk towards the entrance to help carry some boxes. Unknown to them, Gulf and Mew have been sharing glances on each other.

Gulf shook his head and just follow them smiling.

They got surprised when a two vampire standing in the doorway, bowing a little to Mew as a wolf king. A confused look was written on the wolf's face.

The two vampires were firmly instructed by Henry that to be with Gulf no matter what. Gulf who feels the tension arising step up and introduce them to one another.

"Uhm. This is Ja and Haii, they are my friends, and they lived here also. " Gulf said trying to ease the tension.

Alpha wolves are authoritative and possessive, they don't trust a person easily, vampire or wolves. Especially that one of them is a wolf king. Gulf glance at Mew and look down immediately when he caught Mew is staring at him also.

"Forgive us for our disrespect, Your Highness, we don't mean harm to anyone! " Haii said bowing his head.

They then took their leave and let the group of wolves enjoy the company of each other. Gulf look at the two vampires who ascend on the chair to go to their rooms, though he knows that they will still be on full alert because of the visitors inside the house.

"You are living with vampires? " Mew can't help but ask. He felt envy knowing that those vampires are allowed to see Gulf every day.

He doesn't understand his feeling, he wants Gulf for himself only. He doesn't want the other to smile at him and he doesn't want Gulf to be sweet to his friends. But he found his mate already and promised him that he will wait until he is ready.

Gulf does things to him without warning. He is dreaming of this boy on his bed. Then a flash of a silver wolf looking at him.

Gulf is staring at him with warm eyes! And he likes it that way. The way Gulf smiling at him makes his heart going wild.

On the other part, Gulf wanted to explain more. He doesn't want to be misunderstood by his mate. He saw the hurt feeling flashed in his eyes when he said that he is living with a vampire. He wanted to comfort Mew, told him that he is the silver wolf.

"Yes your highness, they are living with me here. If you want you can stay here also! " Gulf casually said but his heart beating crazily.

He heard a gasp from Mew's friends, but he ignored it and proceed to the living room where the food is set. He wanted to hide the creeping heat on his face.

Mew feels like floating on a cloud nine, he wanted to scream in happiness when he heard those words from Gulf. But he needs to act like it's nothing for his evil friends grinning like a maniac.

Night came and the surroundings is eerily quiet. He wanted to shift and have a run but he is not familiar with his surroundings yet. Especially that the group of strong alpha wolves is just a block away.

Taking a deep breath, he looks up at the sky. The starry night bring comfort in his heart, the wind blowing gently so he closed his eyes to feel it.

When Mew's face flashed on his mind, he opened his eyes and look at the thick forest ahead of him. He remembers that night when Mew hugs his wolf, he doesn't want to let go.

"Are you thinking of someone? " Gulf snaps his head towards the person.

Mew is standing in front of him smiling while staring at him.

"I'm sorry, you said that I could stay here if I want to? I take that seriously! " Mew added but  Gulf didn't know what to say.

His heartbeat went crazy when Mew move his way towards him. He blinks his eyes rapidly, wishing that this is not a dream.

"You're here! " The only words Gulf can utter, he heard Mew chuckled.

"I am here! Are you happy? " Gulf don't know how to answer that question.

His eyes fix on Mew, his lips parted and trembling. The way Mew looks at him melts his heart. He wanted to scream at him the word "mate" but he got tongue-tied every time he meet Mew's eyes.

Mew reaches him in his spot, his gaze is still on Gulf. He moves closer to him reaching his face. How he badly wanted to kiss those beautiful chestnut lips.

"You making me crazy you know that? I wanted to be with you always, I got jealous of the people around you, but I can't have you! " Gulf got shocked by his statement.

"I can't have you! " those words keep replaying in his mind.

"What do you mean? " he is hurt right now.

"I found my mate already and I promised to wait for him. I meet him in Atlas mountain in his wolf form! " Mew drops his hand away from his face and looks at the forest in front of them.

Gulf's inner self can't contain the feeling of happiness he felt. His mate waited for him. Mew keeps his promise.

He didn't know that he is slowly releasing a sweet scent that only his mate can smell. Still staring at Mew, he saw how Mew sniffs the air.

The void feelings inside Mew's heart slowly patch up with just that smell, that scent he long to smell, that scent....

He look at Gulf with wide eyes, the younger still had no idea that he is releasing an intoxicating scent for his mate. The words of Mew brought him a strange feeling and caged him in a dreamy land.

Mew took a very long deep breath, and pull Gulf into his embrace.

"You are my mate! "
