17 - The Burrow, Shopping & The Idiot (Lockhart)

The Weasley burrow:

Molly Pov:

It was early in the morning, last night Arthur and I had a talk about Harry. We decided to go and pick me up today because all of the letters we sent to him, he didn't respond not one letter.

And from what Ron and the two Twins Fred and Gorge had said this was no like him at all. So Arthur and I had came to the decision to go and check on Harry after Arthur had finished work.

I got dressed and made my way down stairs, Arthur was out working still so I was the only one to get up so early or so I thought. I arrived at the dinning/kitchen, there were plates of food on the table ready to be eaten.

I looked over the food and fond that although it was sitting there it did not lose any of it's heat or coldness. I could immediately tell that they were under a spell to stay in the best condition.

I looked around the house and could not find the chief who had made the food, but I did find that the house was spotless and clean.

I walked back over to the table and noticed two things, one there was a note with different Jobs with done written next to them. The other thing was that there was a extra plate of food.

One more than usual, I was broken out of my thoughts by the sound of a blade slicing through the air and heavy breathing.

I looked through the window to find the culprit of all the cleanliness and food. It was the young Elf Theo.

I had offered for him to stay after finding out that he had no to place to stay or live during the holidays. He agreed to stay, the day I picked him up with Ginny he gave us gifts to every Weasley family member.

He gave me more Health and beauty care items, which I just love. I first found out about these from the twins sending a letter home about how they are working with Theo to sell his products.

I would have brought some if we had the money to spare, but to my happiness Theo had sent me quite a lot of different items he was selling for Christmas.

This time he got me a lot of items he has not started to sell yet, at first I tried to refuse his gifts to us but he persuaded me to take them.

He is just a sweet heart, he helps with all the chores around the house, even when I ask him not to. I have to say he is amazing at magic control, he does almost all the chores at once with the use of his magic.

But I do have to say it is a joy to have him in the house not just because of his help. The world seems to brighten up we he is around, everyone's mood is improved with his presence.

Right now Theo was swinging and slicing around with his sword, he was graceful as though he was dancing but I could tell it was a deadly as it is beautiful.

He noticed me and stopped his practice, he walked up to me while using a towel to wipe his sweat.

Theo: " Good morning Miss Weasley, how are you today?" He smiled at me after putting his sword away.

I replied to him with a smile of my own.

"Oh, wonderful dear, it is a beautiful morning and you can call me Molly. Come on inside dear, let's have breakfast. oh yes, have you seen the twins and Ron?"

Theo: "I saw them this morning, they left saying something about picking up someone." Before he could finish I heard the sound of Arthur's weird muggle thing entering into the Arthur's workshop.

I turned around to hear the twins and Ron whispering to someone. I walked to the door and looked in.

Theoden Pov:

I watched as Molly Weasley walked into the dinning room with anger, I just shook my head. I knew exactly why Ron and the twins left, they went to pick up Harry from his house.

I walked into the dinning room to find them getting yelled at by their mother, the only one spared was Harry.

I just walked up stairs to change clothes as my current clothes were dirty and sweaty. After I came down I found almost all the Weasley family sitting down at the table eating.

I sat down next to Fred and started eating. Ginny ran down stairs asking about her jumper, she froze when she saw Harry before running up stairs again.

I have to say that is very unlike her at all, I thought she would be up in Harry's face with the amount her talked about him. Arthur Weasley soon walked into the room, he had just gotten back from work and was clearly tired.

Arthur: "Morning Weasleys and Theo!" We all replied with our own greetings before he continued. "What a night! 9 raids, 9!"

He has been working overtime because he had to do raids for forbidden artifacts and other illegal items as of late.

Arthur sat down at the head of the table next to Molly and Harry ready to eat.

Arthur: Well now, (sigh) (he looked at Harry) and who are you?" Harry answered only to be meet with a question about rubber ducks or something.

Molly told Arthur about how they drove the car to pick Harry up last night, He first asked how it went. before changing his tune after being hit by Molly, he reprimanding them but I didn't stick.

Fred and Gorge to lighten the mode tried to change the topic away from them flying the car across England and back.

Twins: "Hey Theo why don't you show everyone - your new cool magic you said you just finished - you know the thing you have been waiting to complete the whole holiday"

Everyone was interested in the magic I had been working on, especially Ron, the Twins and Arthur as I didn't tell them what I was doing.

Arthur: "I am dying to know what actually is it that you have been working so hard to complete. After all, you are always experimenting and creating new potions and items, so what is it that took you so long Theo?"

I smiled before getting up and walking to an open space, I relaxed before speaking with happiness.

Theo: "Well I would have completed it earlier if it wasn't for the time requirements it had, and it is not so much a spell as it is a ritual" I could see the worry appear on Arthur and Molly's faces at the mention of the word ritual, I quickly continued.

"You don't have to worry it is not a dark or bad ritual, in fact the version for elves is without risk as long as the steps are followed. I only completed it yesterday so I am quite happy to show off my hard work.

And Mr. Weasley I am absolutely positive that you will recognize it as soon as you see it, you do work in the Ministry after all. even if the one you know of it watered down version" I whisper the last sentence to myself under my breath.

I closed my eyes to activate the transformation, meanwhile everyone was watching on as I started to Transform.

Slowly I started to shrink down, my arms and legs became small and the same length. I slowly grow scales, feathers and fur.

I grow a tail, horns and wings. I became a small magical animal, I became a small silver white four legged cute animal.

I was around 70cm(27.5inch) long including my tail which was around 30cm long, so my body is 40cm long. I was around 15cm(5.9inchs) high 20cm if you count the horns.

I had scales on my stomach/underside they went all the way to the end of my tail, the scales are golden. In-between the scales it shined different colors constantly just like my eyes and hair in my base form.

My wings were made of soft beautiful feathers that looked like they were made of a crystal or diamond, the colors glistened in the light. Just like my fur the feathers also reflected light but in a very soft and gentle glow.

The glow had a healing, protection and purification effect on others and where the glow touched. My tail ended with a small soft golden spike.

My eyes were the same in this form as my normal form. I had small soft spikes on my back, they were a light reflecting green. My horns were silver white with a green line going up the middle of the horns.

What I did not know was that I would have quite a large amount of problems because I showed this form to the Twins.

Although I did not know what this Magical animal is called, my mother did although she would not tell me for quite some time. But the title it would have in the future would be the Yggdradils Messenger.

This was my animagus form, I had found the ritual in a book in the Galad library. I had to use a bunch of moon/lunar materials, I had to either absorb them through water or keep them in my mouth with a leaf of a powerful tree.

The better the leaf the better magic connection to your animal from and the best effects. Usually when you transform your thoughts become limited as you become an animal, the only way to fix this it to become experienced and mastery over the transformation.

However if you use a better leaf it will allow you to skip this and immediately keep your wits. You also get more of the race magic and abilities of the animal.

I had used a main leaf from Yggdradils so I got the maximum effect of the ritual. I looked up to the dinning room table to see shocked expressions, Arthur Weasley stood up with shock and recognition.

Arthur: "Animagus!! you actually managed to to did! but what is this animal?" He said walking over to me, he crouched down to get a better look.

Molly: "Oh my Merlin's beard, you have learned to become an animagus. Theo you shouldn't have done this by yourself, it's Dangerous" She came over to me as well.

Harry: "Umm what is a animagus.... if you don't umm mind?" Harry asked with confusion

Ron: "Umm yeah dad what is a animagus and why did Theo turn into a small animal?" the two Twins followed up right after Ron.

Twins: "WOW Theo how - did you do that - like what are you anyway - yeah what can you do anyway - are you just this small animal or - can you do anything else? - And what's a animagus?"

Arthur: "A animagus is a wizard or witch which can change form into an animal, most of the time it is just a normal animal and not a magical one. It requires a large amount of knowledge to become a animagus and even then it is extremely dangerous, in fact there are only about seven registered by the Ministry.

But I have never seen or heard of this type of magical animal before."

Ron: "wicked! so we can become one as well?" Ron and the Twins ran over to me and looked down with extreme excitement

Arthur: "Well yes if you have..." he was cut off by Molly Weasley straight away.

Molly: "absolutely not, I will not have any of my children even thinking of such a dangerous thing! This isn't something you can just learn by yourself, you will not learn or even try to as long as you are in my house or even at the school!"

Twins: "But Theo could teach us how to - yeah he learned how to do it - so he could teach us"

I transformed back into my base form before speaking to everyone. "Sorry but I can not teach you as the Elven version is different from the human version, and is very dangerous to learn after all if you fail you well.... die"

I could hear Harry and Ron swallow their spit, the Twins didn't give up but under Molly and Arthur they gave up the idea, at least till they graduate from Hogwarts.

Arthur: "You must still be trying to get used to that form, so why don't you stay in that form for the rest of the day to help you get accustomed to it"

Before I could reply everyone heard the sound of a owl, we looked over to see Errol (I think) flying over to the open window.

I shook my head because I knew that this owl was to old for this, and I was right. instead of flying through the open window it crashed head first into the closed window next to the open one.

Percy walked up to the fallen soldier of a owl and grabbed the letters Errol was carrying. It was our Hogwarts letters for the new year including Harry's.

We were looking at the suppliers in books we needed this year and I have to say, who in their tree rot's mind would have all these books from Gilderoy Lockhart for Defense against the dark arts.

I had read some of his writing, it is really written well but it is fiction. It does not make sense for us to be learning from these books, maybe as an example of what is not real but why in Yggdradils sake would we have to buy his fully work!!

As I was raging about this stupid waste of hard earned money and paper. I noticed that there was a new subject on the supplies sheet.

Elven study, a whole new compulsory subject. There was quite a few books and materials required for this class. But I didn't know where to buy them, I looked at the bottom of the sheet and there was writing about where to get it.

Apparently a new store had opened to sell Elven things, including books. But what I found interesting is you could only buy the school supplies with Galleons and not the rest of the items in the store.

They required Silver-Leaf to buy, which was great for me as that is the one currency I had in abundance.

I was surprised to know that Hogwarts now had a Elven study class, as I was thinking about this everyone else started to talk about the list.

Twins: "This lot won't come cheap, mom - the spell books alone are very expressive - although with our current work with Theo we should be able to get new stuff - but Lockhart's stuff won't be cheap" They said with worry

Molly: "Don't worry, We'll manage. There's only one place we're going to get all of this... Diagon Alley."

We all went of the the fireplace, lucky I had brought more floo powder after I went shopping for more food. I went first through the floor network and waited for Harry, the only problem was he didn't come through.

Apparently he had said Diagon-alley instead so he could be anywhere, we went looking for him. Along the way we found Hermione and her family, after some time we found harry with Hagrid.

Apparently he was in knock-turn alley, Hagrid left right after dropping off Harry. We rejoined everyone again and finished almost all of our shopping, we only needed our books and Elven class items.

Hermione was I a happy mood as we went around Diagon Alley. Everyone arrived at Flourish and Blotts to buy our books. Along the way we spotted Alexander and his parents, they headed over to us.

Vena and Balin walked up to us before greeting Mr. and miss Weasley and Hermione's parents with kind smiles. They even thanked Molly and Arthur for taking care of me this holiday, which I found a little weird but acceptable considering that they are elves as well.

They both then came to me before greeting me in Elven with a kind smiles.

Balin: *"It is a pleasure to finally meet you Theoden Mírë, I am Balin Vardo. I'm the head of the Vardo house, this is my lovely wife Vena Vardo" he said giving me a small bow.

Vena: *"Hello dear, I've heard so much about you from Alexander during the holidays and from his letters"* she gave me a wide beautiful smile.

Theo: *"It is nice to meet the both of you"*

Vena: "I hope we can get along after all I will be starting as a teacher this year at Hogwarts, so I might need your help dear"

This surprised not only me but also everyone else, I quickly asked if she was teaching Elven study.

Vena: "Why yes I will be, so I hope you can help me with a few things." She had a happy smile on her face because of my question

Hermione: "umm, do you know where we can buy our supplies for your class because I don't know where the store is and do you have any suggestions for extra books or items that will help?"

Vena: "Why don't we all go and get it together after we finish at book store. that way I can show you some extra things that can help you if you wish to learn more" She smiled at Hermione. We all left for the book store together, the parents were talking to each other along the way about different topics.

When we arrived I got a bad feeling in my stomach, and immediately I knew why Gilderoy Lockhart was signing his books. I did not want to be in there with all the panic of people trying to get there books signed.

I could just feel the effect my appreciate would have in there with a man who was just after fame. I turned to Molly and asked with a forced smile.

Theo: "Miss Molly do you mind if you buy my books for me, I just feel that... I have a feeling in my stomach that if I go in there then..."

She looked at me concerned, she knew why I wouldn't want to go in there as she had learned quite a few things about Elves from me. Soon she had an idea for me to still go into the store without any problems.

Molly: "Why don't you become your animagus form, then you can go in without any problems. That way you can also get any more books you want"

I thought about it before agreeing to her idea, I transformed after making sure that no strangers were watching.

I looked up to see Vena smile at me with slight shock on her face, Hermione and her parents had complete shock on their faces.

Mr. Granger: "How did he just... turn into a animal?" he looked down at me with shock.

Molly: "Ah don't worry he became an animagus or in other words he got the ability to turn into an animal. Theo is fine it just he doesn't like crowded small places." She smiled at them and reassured them.

Hermione: "I've read about animagus Professor McGonagall is one as well, she can turn into a cat. Theo how did actually become one, it isn't written anywhere in the school's library?" Hermione asked me while crouching down to get a better look at me.

Vena: "Hermione dear why don't you pick Theo up so he doesn't get step on in the store" she picked me up so fast that I didn't even have time to Dodge her before putting me in a blushing Hermione's hands.

I didn't even know what was happening till Hermione holding me walked into the store, once inside the store I immediately understood that turning into my animagus form was the right decision.

The whole store was crowded, full of crazy people. trying to squeeze to the front. I don't know why but Molly Weasley really wanted to get an all the books signed. It was mostly older witches here for the book signing.

Harry who was next to Hermione, without anyone noticing was slowly cleaned by the soft glow coming off of my body.

Hermione lined up with Molly, Ginny and Ron in the line. Soon the bookstore owner spoke silencing the crowd.

Owner: "Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Gilderoy Lockhart!" Entered into the room from the back of the store.

Gilderoy Lockhart had a wide narcissistic smile on his face, he walked in like he was the center of the world. I could immediately tell that I wanted nothing to do with him, everyone was clapping when he entered like he was the savior of the world.

Soon a man yelled to make way so he could take a photo for the daily prophet, he took a photo of Lockhart before backing a few steps away.

Gilderoy Lockhart smiled like he was high on mushrooms or something, the smile slowly disappeared off his face when he noticed Harry before speaking.

Lockhart: "It can't be Harry Potter.." Lockhart had a shocked expression but I could see the greed and planning that appeared in his eyes immediately after speaking.

The Daily prophet photographer immediately graved Harry and pulled him to the front next to Lockhart.

Lockhart grabbed Harry's arm and pulled him close before saying. "Nice big smile Harry. Together, you and I rate the front page" The photo was taken, Harry looked really uncomfortable.

Lockhart: "Ladies and Gentlemen, what an extraordinary moment this is. when young Harry stepped into Flourish and Blotts this morning to purchase my autobiography Magical me..."

Everyone started to clap their hands, even Hermione tried to as well. Hermione leaned her head to the side while clapping, I was quite uncomfortable really.

She seemed to notice and apologize and held me properly, quite frankly I just wanted her to put me down but I could not speak in this form so I gave up trying.

I rolled my eyes at Lockhart's speech, I could tell he was just using Harry's fame to push himself up.

Lockhart: "Which incidentally is currently celebrating it's 27th week atop the Daily Prophet bestseller list, he had no idea that he would in fact be leaving.... (Lockhart looked at the store owner) with my... entire collected works.. (the owner gave Lockhart all of Lockhart's books to him) free of charge."

Lockhart gave the books to Harry with a large smile as through he was giving away a book made of gold. Another photo was taken before the photographer left the store in a hurry.

Everyone started to clap, luckily for me Hermione didn't this time but instead hugged me tighter.

Lockhart sat down behind the table and pulled out a quill to sign the books. he said "Now, ladies"

Molly Weasley took the books from Harry to get them signed, I used magic to pull out a bag of Galleons to buy everyone's books. The bag floated over to Miss Molly before landing on the pile of books.

Before Molly could refuse Hermione had already carried me away with Harry, Ginny and Ron.

Hermione followed Harry and Ginny to the exit but was stopped by one blonde idiot, Draco Malfoy.

Draco: "Bet you loved that, didn't you Potter?! Famous Harry Potter, can't even go into a bookshop without making the front page!" Draco said while getting closer to Harry

Ginny: "Leave him alone" Ginny said getting closer to Draco with an angered face.

Draco: "Look Potter, You've got yourself a girlfriend" Draco said with a sarcastic smile before he could continue a handle of a walking stick that looked like a snake head with it's mouth open was out on Draco's shoulder.

Lucius: "Now now Draco, play nicely. Ah Mr. Potter.... (he paused for a second, taking a step forward) Lucius Malfoy, we meet at last"

He put out his hand for a hand shake before pulling Harry closer while moving Harry's hair to look at Harry's scar.

Lucius: "Forgive me. Your scar is legend, as of course is the wizard who gave it to you." he smiled at the mention of Voldemort.

Harry: "Voldemort killed my parents. he was nothing more than a murderer." Hermione came closer to stand on Harry's right.

Lucius: "hmm. You must be very brave to mention his name, or very foolish." Lucius smiled at the end of his little speech.

Hermione: "Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself." Hermione hugging me spoke to Malfoy senior with a brave face and confident voice. I on the other hand just rolled my eyes, I could feel evil coming off of the man but he did an excellent job at hiding it.

Lucius looked over at Hermione with a condescending face while talking "And you must be... (he looked over to Draco) Miss Granger. (he looked back) yes. Draco's told me all about you and your parents" Hermione looked over to her parents who were talking to Arthur and Alexander's parents before looking back at Lucius with Hurry

I didn't know when during the conversation but Hermione started to patting me while her other hand hugged me closer.

Lucius: "Muggles... aren't they? (he turned to Ron, Ginny and the Twins) Let me see. Red hair, vacant expressions... (he pick up the book Ginny had) tatty secondhand book... you must be the Weasleys." Arthur walked over and stood behind Ginny.

Arthur: "Children, it's mad in here. Let's go outside." he said trying to get us away from Lucius Malfoy.

Lucius: "Well, well, well... Weasley senior." he said looking at Arthur.

Arthur just replied with "Lucius" his face did not change while looking at the Malfoy.

Lucius: "Busy time at the Ministry, Arthur, all those extra raids? I hope they're paying you overtime. but judging by the state of this (He shows off Ginny's book) I'd say not. What's the use in being a disgrace to the name of wizard, if they don't even pay you well for it?" he finished with a proud smirk.

Arthur: "We have a very different idea about what disgraces the name of wizard, Malfoy." Arthur said calmly but powerfully.

Lucius: "Clearly..... Associating with muggles... (he put Ginny's books back) and I thought your family could sink no lower. I'll see you at work." he looked at all of us, he paused when he saw me but soon paid no heed.

Draco as always has to get the last word in on the way out. "see you at school". before leaving following his father.

Little did anyone at the time know but Lucius had slipped a dark magic item to Ginny, I would have sensed it at the time if it wasn't for the hidden charm on it.

We soon left the bookstore, and regrouped together. Finally having been freed from being carried around, I transformed back into my base form.

We all made our way to Everything Elven to buy our things, Miss Vena showed us some useful things and the great thing was I could buy everything cheaper with Silver-Leaf instead of Galleons.

So I paid for everything, after all it was cheaper and it could be counted as an early Christmas present.

After finishing shopping Harry and I with the Weasley family headed back to the Burrow.

(Note: I made Theo's animagus form a reflection of his inner self, caring, nice and loving of life. so he is small (for now) cute and adorable. I know some people will say 'why not a dragon or a Phoenix or something cool' well there is magic call transfiguration and I wanted to give Theo a unique transformation.

So this thing. New characters will be introduced to the story soon.
