The Last Demon Slayer

A loud banging sound could be heard from the trunk of an old car that was parked inside an abandoned warehouse. The inhumane rocking of the car was accompanied by a muffled scream. "Shhh... Be quiet..." One said as she slowly opened the trunk and pulled the poor lady out from it. The two suspicious characters that were wearing clown masks tied the poor lady in the middle of the floor where a big pentagram was scribbled. "MSHGGSKKSSSSH!!!!" The poor lady made a desperate attempt to scream but it was to no avail. One of her assailants had the heart to remove her gag but the first thing that she asked as soon as it was removed was, "Is this a prank??? I know it was you, Cassie. That shirt is mine." As soon as she heard her name, Cassie removed her mask. "Ana, don't panic. We will just exorcise you, okay? Calm down. After all of this is done, we could just all pretend that none of this ever happened in the first place." "What?!!!!!! You're crazy, Cassie!" "NO! Look, you tried to strangle me with a belt last night. But don't worry because I don't blame you for that. You were possessed and right now we will exorcise that demon out from your body." "No-----mmmpphhhh" Before the lady named Ana could even speak another word of protest, Cassie already gagged her again with that same piece of cloth that they used before. "So what are we gonna do next?" "You have to pee on her?" "No way! I would never pee on my best friend! Jared, that's insane!" "Then let us just all forget about this whole exorcism thing then because it was clearly written here. Instruction No.1. You have to mark the subject with your own scent." Their first encounter

The ramming on her door became more intense and just as when she thought her door was about to give in, everything went still and the place was plunged into a deafening silence.

"Did they left already???"

Cassie asked herself. But before she could even heave a sigh of relief, a razor-sharp claw cut through the frame of her door!

"AHRG!"

The poor child gasped in pain when the claw made a deep cut on her forearm. The wound felt like it was placed next to something hot. The affected muscle seemed to be seared and in fact, smelled as though it was burnt.

Cassie ran to the other side of her room and tried to put as much distance between her and the door. She looked around her, but there was no other way out.

The window was too high for her to climb and even if she climbed it, she did not think that she would survive the fall either.

Their apartment was on the fifth floor of the building

"AHHHHH!!!!!"

She screamed in terror as one more claw tried to break in her door. She covered her eyes with her hand and awaited her doom. But then out of nowhere, she heard them scream as well.

They sounded as though they were in pain and the next thing Cassie knew, everything was silent again.

When she opened her eyes again, she saw another stranger looking down at her. The darkness did little to hide how handsome the man was.

The tall guy towered over Cassie and his appearance alone could easily pass off as prince charming from Cassie's perspective.

The man's rugged features were alluring. His raven black hair, which glistened in the moonlight illuminating from the window, was combed back and his face carefully structured. As if God had molded him just to spoil these eyes.

The cold blue eyes of the man were full of intensity. He had a Roman nose and a thin pair of lips that was in a form of a smirk.

His tight jaw was an angular shape that was filled with little stubbles. His pale skin looked so right. The man had on a white cotton shirt with a silky blue vest and a pair of black pants, which tied everything together in a perfect blend.

When the other party bent on his knees to meet Cassie's eyes, she saw how his changed its color; from blue, his eyes turned to violet.

"Forget what you saw today."

That was all she heard and the next thing she knew, she was already standing back at the scene of the accident.

Their car was there; rolled over on the street, police were also gathered around her as well as ambulance

"Road 666, near Heartstring River. A car rolled over. I see bloodstains on the driver and passenger's seat. It looks like they shed a lot of blood, but I don't see any bodies. Possibly a case of two missing adults. The only survivor is a little girl, around eight years old."

The officer radioed in and as soon as he was done, he walked towards Cassie.

"Are you okay? What's your name?"

He asked her but Cassie was still in a state of shock.

"My parents are gone."

Cassie tried her best to fight back her tears, but she failed. Tears started to stream down her face when she said that. She tugged at the other party's shirt and pleaded at him with all earnestly.

"Mr. Officer, could you please help me find them?"

"I will find them for you. Don't worry."

The officer reassured her.

Meanwhile, Jared was looking after Cassie as he was currently perched at a nearby tree.

"Until next time."

He whispered before he disappeared into the shadow. Cassie looked in his direction but he was Jared was no longer there.

"Do you remember how the accident happened?"

The officer continued to ask Cassie. But the child at that point could no longer tell apart what was real and what was not. So she just shook her head.

"Were you here by yourself?"

But again, Cassie only shook her head and refused to say a thing.

Knowing that there was no way he could get anything useful out from the child if she would speak, and at worst he might even end up traumatizing her more than she already was, the officer finally decided to question her.

The officer brought Cassie to the nearby hospital to have her checked for any injuries before he took him to the police station to complete the necessary police reports.
