THE ANNOYING SHADOWS

"Damn it! What the hell are these things?" ,At another place, Gnan was running away for his life. He was chased away by a bunch of shadows. He tried many ways to kill them. But no matter what he did, he couldn't kill them. They would be destroyed. But they will spawn again almost instantly.

Gnan knew that he would be a dead meat if it wasn't for Gutherson who was accompanying him. As time passed, both Gnan and Gutherson bumped into each other accidently. Later they decided to stick together as it was the right decision to take.

As they were defeating many teams, their cultivation soared into the sky thanks to the Essence Gathering System. With enough experience points, their cultivation has reached the Immortal Body Origin Stage. Gnan was at Level 2 of the Immortal Body Origin Stage!

As for Gutherson, he was a little lucky. Because he bumped into a little difficult situation, his cultivation soared after resolving it. Currently, his cultivation level is at the Level 4 of the Immortal Body Origin Stage!

They didn't have any troublesome situation so far. But now they had finally bumped into the most troublesome situation in their lives in the forest. They were travelling through the forest looking for some powerful team. But most of the time they faced the teams who were previously defeated and their pass which were stolen.

But as they were trying to find some powerful team who had the Pass in their possession, they were suddenly attacked by these shadows. They didn't know what these shadows were. But they were sure that these shadows were definitely not friendly.

These shadows were not strong. Their attacks were not that lethal. They could be endured. But as time passed, the number of shadows that were pursuing them had increased. One became two. Two became four. And so on, very soon, the number of shadows that were behind them had increased to 300!

As they were attacking these shadows, the shadows fell. But it spawned once again. And when they spawn, the shadow will make a clone out of it. And then they both will start attacking them.

"Uncle! What should we do now?" ,Gnan asked Gutherson with frustrated face, "These Shadows are so annoying."

"I don't know." ,Gutherson shook his head and said, "But whatever it is, we need to deal with it. We need to find a way to deal with it as quickly as possible. But since we don't have any clue as for how to deal with them, all we can do is to run while trying to figure out the way to deal with it."

Gutherson was also worried about the origin of these shadows. He was a Dao Master now unlike during the Preliminaries. He had both strength and power to rely on himself to protect himself as long as the opponent is not the powerhouse of the Fourth Awakening Stage expert or above.

But these shadows were quite different. He was sure that these shadows were created by the other contestants. There is no way these shadows were artificially created or existed in these forest for a very long time.

But what made him worried the most is that, not only these shadows could endure the normal attacks. It could actually endure even the Dao Attacks and respawn as if nothing had ever happened.

Even the Dao attacks were not having any effects on them. So how could they get rid of these shadows in the first place? He didn't know. He wanted an answer. But he didn't have any way to know it.

"Uncle Look! There are some people who looks like they are in similar situation as us." ,At that time, Gnan pointed his finger in a certain direction where a group of fifteen people were being chased by the shadows.

Gutherson looked at them with curiosity. Because instead of running away, these people were actually fighting these shadows. Could it be that these people knew how to deal with these shadows?

As Gutherson was wondering, the shadows that were following them suddenly changed their direction. They all stopped going after Gnan and Gutherson and instead they rushed towards those people.

Gnan and Gutherson stopped. They didn't know why the shadows stopped pursing them and instead went after these people. But since they got the opportunity, they immediately hid themselves. They could leave. But they wanted to see whether these people had any way to deal with these shadows.

As they watched, the shadows became very aggressive. And in the process, one of their people perished.

Looking at the death of his comrade, one of them shouted, "Damn it! These damn shadows actually killed Matt! Just how strong are they?"

He then looked at one of his teammate and said, "Captain! We don't have any choice. Even I feel that, that person is suspicious. But we have to take the gamble. Or else, we will all die just like Matt!"

The person who was called captain narrowed his eyes. Both Gnan and Gutherson could sense the uneasiness on the face of this person. It was as if something was actually bothering him. They didn't know what exactly is happening here. But judging from their conversation just now, Gnan and Gutherson felt that these people had some kind of solution for these shadows.

"Alright! I don't know whether the talismans given by that person would work or not. But since hesitating will not help us and we might even lose our lives, I will use that Talisman and see weather we can get rid of these shadows or not." ,The Captain took a deep breath and said with unwillingness.

He the took out a Talisman from his possession and crushed it. Immediately, a pure holy light came out from it spread around it's vicinity. As soon as this holy light came out, the shadows within it's range were annihilated into nothingness. It was as if these destroyed shadows never existed in the first place.

Looking at their comrades were killed, other shadows were panicked. They started to run away from these group of people in terror and anxiety. Looking at the shadows which were running away, these group of people shouted in cheers and excitement.

"Damn it! That person was telling the truth. These Talismans could actually take care of these annoying shadows." ,One of them said while tears were flowing from his eyes.

Others were also in the similar situation. They were feeling as if they won a huge large scale war. They were celebrating in happiness among themselves.

Looking at all this, both Gnan and Gutherson became silent. But these two people were ancient monsters who had seen the world much better than anyone else. Their experience was constantly telling that something was definitely wrong.
