New request in a new place

Ash took a carriage and reached the gates of "Razar" the main city of Vixen county in 3 days. No one is allowed inside the county without proper ID. If anyone needs to get a new ID the guard will take care of it at the gate where there is a desk. At the gate he showed his adventure guild card and tag. They allowed him inside without any problem.

He asked them about the adventurers guild locations and they told him to go to the east side of the city. He asked if there is a cartographer here who can provide him with maps. They told him to go straight and there will be a cartographer store.

He thanked them and went to the cartographer store. He brought the maps for the entire Vixen county and placed it in the inventory. Ash decided to book a inn before going to the adventurer guild. He chose an inn near to the adventurers guild which is called "Adventurers Dawn".

The innkeeper "Clovis" is a very young man of 20 years. Ash booked a room for 1 month. It cost him 50 gold. He paid it and stored his belongings in the room.

Ash decided to pay the adventurer guild a visit and accept a quest. He made his way to the guild and saw beautifully sculptured buildings and and other businesses with decent architectures. He did not find such things near the entrance of the county.

There were lots of cloth merchants, Weapon merchants making sounds and urging customers to buy from them. Their shops are wells designed with blue and Violet colors. There are foods being sold and even Ash's mouth watered on seeing them. He controlled himself and arrived at the adventure guild which is made in the form of a palace with red dome. There are doors and windows made of high quality wood.

The county was nothing like the barony. The barony is pretty small and houses do not have any type of sculptures or architectures. They are just houses and establishments painted in different colors. The one important trademark that has appeared in recent times due to Ash's efforts is its cleanliness compared to any other city and even the Royal capital.

The air became clear after the baroness implemented ban on public defecation which improved the health of the people by 50 %. The county is filled with same smells before the barony has undergone changes.

Ash entered the adventurers guild and everyone saw that a child has entered. They were giving Ash weird looks. Ash went to the reception desk without caring about anything and presented his "Indigo" tag.

The receptionist who has a Id tag with name written on it is "Yulia". "Welcome Mr. Ash Sullivan to Vixen county adventurers guild. May I know the reason for your visit?"

"I will tell why he is here" came a sound. Everyone including Ash looked at the source of the voice.

Ash widened his eyes on seeing who it is. It was "Quinn" who spoke with serious face and Rose is beside him glaring at Ash.

Ash gritted his teeth as he did not expect this at all. "Excuse me, but who might you two be?" asked Yulia.

"We are adventurers from Hammerwald Barony and we are Indigo rank just like him" said Rose smiling at Yulia.

Ash nodded in frustration and asked "Can you excuse me? I need to talk to them".

"Okay, you can have our private room for discussion" said Yulia.

"Thank you" said Ash and signaled Quinn and Rose to come.

They followed him to a private room.

Ash sat on a chair opposite to both of them. "Explain." asked Ash with frustration.

"It is you who needs to explain mister. Leaving without saying a goodbye" shouted Rose.

"Yeah. Why did you treat us like strangers and leave?" asked Quinn with rage.

Ash groaned rubbing his head.

"You are the successor of the Hammerwald barony Quinn. And Rose, you are going to be introduced to the high society some day by Quinn's grandmother. There are responsibilities that you two have to take and I cannot ask you guys to play adventure. if anything happens to you two i am the one who will be held liable" said Ash looking at them with expressionless eyes.

"Hahaha" laughed Quinn.

Rose too found his reasoning funny and started laughing.

"What are you guys laughing for?"

"You still did not understand don't you?" said Quinn rubbing his tears of laugh.

"What?" asked Ash narrowing his eyes.

"I am not the official successor to Hammerwald Barony. Rose is not going to enter the high society in the future" said Quinn.

Ash rose up surprised and asked "What are you talking about?"

"Since you do not know it I'll explain the details but you would have to keep it a secret." said Quinn.

"Okay. I'll keep it a secret" said Ash sitting back on the chair.

"Good. You do know that I have given up on the throne right?" said Quinn.

"Yes. You got a lot of money in exchange" said Ash with sarcasm.

Quinn rolled his eyes and continued "There are several conditions put by the king which me and Rose had to accept for relinquishing our right to the throne."

"What kind of bullshit is this? You can relinquish your right of your own accord and the king can't do shit about it." said Ash as he is very angry.

"It might look like that on the surface but the inner truth is quite different." said Rose.

"The King wanted restrict my movements because he is insecure. He made me and Rose sign a contract along with the relinquishing agreement. The contract states that I need to give up my position as successor of the Hammerwald barony and Rose cannot enter the high society." said Quinn.

"What the hell? Is he a King or a piece of shit?" shouted Ash.

"Well it's the second one." said Quinn.

"Then who is going to be the successor of that barony in the future?" asked Ash.

"My grandmother has adopted a child who is elder than me by 5 years. His name is Eren Hammerwald. He is presently studying in the "Imperial Academy" right now. The baroness has written a will to transfer the barony to him as soon as he comes from the academy which is another 4 years." said Quinn.

"So, we guys are free from ruling the place and we can travel a lot due to that." said Quinn.

"If anything happens to you, the grandmother of yours will eat me alive" said Ash.

"You have a nasty tongue, even though you come from a noble house , Ash." said Rose.

Ash rolled his eyes and said "Sorry Madam, I am not taught manners by my bastard of a father."

"Enough of that, you need not worry about my grandmother as we have already sent letters that we will follow you of our own free will." said Quinn.

Suddenly the doors burst open and a girl entered.

"Good. You are here. I need your help" said the girl.

Ash replied "Sure, come here and sit Raven. Let us discuss the matter."

"Nice to meet you again Ms.Raven" said Quinn bowing.

"Good day Ms.Raven" said Rose bowing.

"Good to meet you two again" said Raven smiling.

"So, why are you in a hurry?" asked Ash seriously.

"The "Ice Panther" dungeon is about to break and you are the only one who can fight it." said Raven in a serious tone.
